While trying to enjoy the party, Wilhelm Schlieffen receives very terrible news: A civil war is about to begin, and there is nothing he can do.
His Minister of Defense, Claude Von Hindenburg, called P.M Schlieffen to tell him that Westside tried to send nearly 20,000 troops from the NRDF (New Roman Defense Forces) to "appease" North Yecksburg and stop the abolitionist threat. However, Ampuries (which is between NY and Westside) stopped them at the border and didn't let them head to NY.
And if that wasn't enough, Freeside has officially joined the Coalition and they were able to send almost 8,000 troops to aid the coalition forces in NY. Ampuries is MAD at the Coalition and at the govvernment, for refusing to do anything. The Coalition is MAD at Ampuries, for stopping the massive army coming from Westside and for supporting Westside.
Kukumu has announced that, if necessary, they will send their forces to stop Freeside and help Ampuries even if the government doesn't allow them to do so.
Things are very tense, and everything is about to blow up.

At the party, Martha Callas is having the time of her life. Not because she is partying like a maniac, but because she is very impressed. She is too shy to approach anyone, so she just looks at everyone, trying to be unnoticed. She is especially interested in King Alán of 
Potenzia. After all, he is rather nice-looking and her husband is ignoring her, so she can look at him discreetly.
She loved the Andalusian Gazpacho, and wishes to try more dishes. After all, she has been eating terrible New Roman food all her life. However, unlike most Vants, she has the time to do exercise. But most people aren't that lucky.
Callas is certainly having fun, while Schlieffen is having an awful time.

Suddenly, the King gets a notification on his phone - it's an email from the Indusian Prime Minister.
The email reads:
"IBN Radio has an unconfirmed report about a civil war in Vantier. City of Westside allegedly attempted to send troops to appease North Yecksburg (NY) but troops were blocked by Ampuries. City of Freeside joins antislavery coalition and sends 8000 men to aid NY. Kukumu may interfere. Situation very tense. Will bring you more information soon."

After seeing Ërl'u staring at her, Callas simply smiles at Ërl'u, mocking her.
Meanwhile, Schlieffen tries to ignore his wife's more-than-obvious contact with the rest. He already has enough troubles to deal with. At this point, he is willing to let Callas do whatever she wants, as long as she doesn't bother him.
Schlieffen tries to be nice to the Kaiser of Das viertes kaiserreich and Vladimir Usjkov, but having a conversation with Schlieffen at the moment is not very pleasant.

Feeling petty, Queen Ërl’u snaps her fingers and has Martha Callas of Vantier carried away by the royal guards. Her husband barely notices and is completely unbothered.

Commander Joseph Lawrence sits in a Potenzian prison cell, demanding to be released and threatening the Potenzian government. He is ignored.
His wife Eleanor has been transferred to a psychiatric facility where it will be determined if she’s actually clinically insane or just faking it to get out of being prosecuted for her and her husband’s crimes.
The handmaid, Velma Keyes, has been given asylum and will be placed in witness protection given her testimony against Commander Lawrence and his wife.

For the main course, world-renowned Potenzian chef, Gordo Ramos, has elegantly prepared several paella dishes for the guests to choose from:
1. Traditional Paella: consisting of rice, green vegetables, rabbit, snails, and beans, cooked in olive oil and chicken broth.
2. Seafood Paella: consisting of rice, squid, prawns, mussels and clams along with smoky chorizo and saffron for tons of flavor. (the King’s personal favourite)

"Having enough time to travel and, more importantly, having the privilege of being morally capable of ignoring your country really seems great. Sadly, I actually care about my nation and its people, unlike most of the fellow guests here, so silly vacations unrelated to diplomacy are not possible for me. But if I was a privileged European politician, I'd love to enjoy such activities."
Following this passive-aggressive response, Martha Callas tries to make the conversation less "aggessive", saying:
"Indeed, Potenzian food is very tasty and delicious. Perhaps King Alán could invite me to one of those cruise rides and I could eat Potenzian food all day long..."
