Hello

Hey guys!

Does anyone know why Yondora dropped off NS?

I do not.

Maybe a way to engage us is to start a debate. No need for a dummy account but let's have a chat about politics?

ok sure.

In the US, today is the Georgia runoffs which will decide which party will control the US Senate. Are you pro-Democrat (Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock) or are you pro-Republican (David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler)?

Unsurprisingly, I'd vote democrat today. Primarily because of how the republicans have behaved with dumping portfolios and backing trump while he is trying to trash US democracy

I’m pro-democrat but that’s just for the sake of answering the question because I don’t live there.

It’s rare that I would vote republican due to the current state of our government in the USA.

I'd vote Republican but I understand your concern with Trump and the electoral results as I'm not a big fan of that either.

I also have an issue with the way that the two republican Georgia senators behaved after getting briefings and using insider info. So, even if I was a registered republican I would not vote for them

I think I’m going to start doing a daily discussion type thing where I give a topic each day and people discuss it or debate it in the RMB.

What do you guys think?

That sounds fun! It could also be a good way to learn more about real world events.

I like the idea

First topic: As of a few minutes ago Trump supporters at The March For Trump got into the Capitol Building and as a result both Chambers of Congress have been told to shelter in place as they were voting on the electoral results.

Opinions?

It is now reported that someone was shot.

Now the report is that she has died. It is a truly sad day for the United States of America.

The pandemic and stay-at-home order have me so disconnected and desensitized to the news that I looked at the news alert about this and just sort of shrugged. I'm pretty curious about what's going to happen. The only solid opinion I've formulated so far is that I am not going to be a fan of all the thinkpieces about how this is unprecedented in America even though in the 1800s politics was full of weird crap like this happening. It doe seem a bit like a coup attempt by Trump, which is worrying.

I was happy to see Trump call on them to be peaceful and send in the national guard though.

Too little too late though. First. He incited that. Second, he opened that speech with a doubling down of the bare faced lie that led to it. "This election was stolen from us".

Oh, give me a break. His own justice department said it wasn't. Several courts with many trump appointed judges also said that. This is insane and massively damaging to US democracy.

I don't know what it is about Trump that makes everyone excuse his indefensible actions and hypocrisy but no other president would have sensible people defend or praise him in this situation.

I don’t support these actions. I’ve always wanted the results to be certified

I am enjoying these topics. It really makes me think about my political opinions and I it is really cool to hear the opinions of others.
