100 miles from Station Easy

As the Dawn approached Station Easy Commander Cardinal sighed, "I don't like leaving like this."

Kut'a groans, "What a surprise, it's not like you haven't said that our entire trip back to Easy."

"Lieutenant." Cardinal says raising an eyebrow, "Sometimes it's better to let your superiors complain without the comments."

Kut'a laughs, "What fun is that though? Besides, I've been stuck on the ship for this whole mission! I had to go down to engineering and talk to the Chief I was so bored! Don't get me wrong I love the guy, but there is only so many warp core jokes I can take in one sitting."

Cardinal smiles a bit, "He's still trying those out huh?"

"You have no idea." Kut'a says, "Look at it this way, the Captain is probably safer in Cascadia away from the Chief and his poor humor. Gotta think positive sir."

Cardinal lets out a chuckle, "We can only hope."

There is a beep as the ship enters coms range of Station Easy. Kut'a presses a button on her console, "Station Easy, this is the USS Break of Dawn requesting clearance to enter the Rift. We will be returning in roughly 2 hours following a report to our command on the other side-"

Before Kut'a can finish the request the ship's alarms start going off. Frantic Cardinal stands up, "What the hell is going on?!"

Kut'a presses a button on her console bringing up the sensors, "Sir, something is coming through the Rift."

"All crew report to combat stations, we have an object coming through the rift." Cardinal calls over the ship's intercom. The Dawn's shields and weapons begin to power up and target the signal coming from the Rift. "Weapons, standby for possible engagement." He looks at Kut'a, "Any positive thoughts for this one."

"I mean maybe its just another nation stopping by?" Kut'a says nervously, "The Cascadians did say they have met other nations in the Rift. Could be those elves, or lost traders, or roving pirates, or maybe-"

Before she can finish the Divinity arrives through the Rift. The massive warship flickers momentarily for a second allowing the EMP phenomena to pass through the vessel before powering back up to full strength. Kut'a looks out the viewscreen with her mouth hanging open in a mix of shock and horror, "-or maybe its a FREAKING HARMONY CLASS?!"

Cardinal doesn't waste any time, 'Weapons power down NOW! All targeting is to go offline IMMEDIATELY." He presses another button on the captain's chair and opens a channel to Easy, "Station Easy do not engage, repeat DO NOT engage. Unknown vessel is from our universe and is likley a friendly. Any action toward it will likley be met with-"

Before he completes his sentence, the Divinity launches itself into FTL. Cardinal walks over to Kut'a console, "Where are they going?"

"Course indicates Earth." Kut'a says concerned, "Better question is what the hell is a Harmony doing here? Almost the entire Dominion fleet stays in their home galaxy, never mind their Enforcers."

"I have no idea." Cardinal says. The alarms start blaring again, "What now?!"

"Another ship exiting the Rift." Kut'a says. The two look out the view-screen as the second ship exits the rift and goes dark for a moment as the EMP hits it. After a moment the ship lights back up, reveling the 136 mile long triple hulled vessel with the name USS Alliance displayed along the side.

"This cannot be good." Cardinal says. He opens the channel to Easy once again, "Station Easy, hold fire this one's one of ours. Hopefully we can get some answers for your shortly."

Kut'a looks at Cardinal, "Admiral Henton is calling us."

"Onscreen." Cardinal says

Henton's face appears after a second, "Commander, where is Captain Knight?"

"She is on....well Earth sir." Cardinal says causing the Admiral to raise an eyebrow, "Long story, she and 8 went down to the planet to establish ties between the Union and a local nation known as Cascadia. They run the station you are detecting on sensors and are likley very unhappy with their territory being breached in this way. What is going on sir?"

"Looks like both of us are going to have to explain on the way, but in short 8 is not from the Dominion." Kut'a and Cardinal look at each other in shock and concern, "Right now I need to you push your engines to the max, we need to catch up with that ship as soon as possible. And call Knight on the way."

VTOL, Cascadia
Knight looks out at the city as they start their journey into the capital of Cascadia. She looks at the building and is reminded of home. "Never thought something so different could be so familiar." She looks at Cody, "Have to say your capital is pretty similar to my hometown on my own Earth, a place called Albany. My guess is it probably exists here to, just not in any state I remember it-"

Suddenly, without warning 8 jumps off the VTOL and into the air plummeting down toward the city. Knights eyes widen in shock, "What the HELL!?"

Before she can do anything he com beeps and she hears Commander Cardinal call out on it, "Allison, you need to get a hold of Cascadian officials right NOW! There is a Harmony class ship barreling towards Earth as we speak. We are on the way with the Alliance but they will arrive before we can. ETA is five minutes to their arrival. Also apparently 8 is not with the Dominion, we are not sure what is going on but the Dominion is here to retrieve him. We are not sure how far they will go."

Knights blood runs cold and she snaps toward Cody, "I need a direct com line with your people immediately and get this aircraft on the ground now!"

The Station's fleets seemed to hold for a bit, and not really overtly react - although each Space Station's Defense systems were active and on full alert, not just Easy, but the ones in orbit around the rest of the Sol System. Fleets were only being dispatched and taking defensive positions after Harmony well surpassed Station Easy. However, all Cascadian forces held their fire and maintained a scattered positioning - keeping generally out of the way of all ships. Had Break of Dawn not established themselves as being friendlies by this point, they would have opened fire already, but thankfully this was not the case. It wasn't long before the Harmony Class was contacted by Station Texas, "Unidentified Craft, this is Station Texas of the Free State of Cascadia. State your intentions and state your business. Refusal to provide us a response will be interpreted as an act of malice."

Station Easy in particular reached out to the Alliance, asking the following question, "Unnamed Craft, this is Station Easy. Tell us what's going on, over."

Free State of Cascadia
Cody remained fairly calm through it, acknowledging what Knight had said. He reached for his pocket, removing his phone and dialing a number. As soon as he received a response, he spoke into it. "Sir. We got a ship moving in for Earth, one of the delegation is still on board with me. Where do you want us?" It was difficult to hear anything through Cody's phone, but it wouldn't take long for Cody to reply. "Understood. I'm on it." He concluded the conversation by hanging up, and turning his head towards the pilot's cockpit. "Land at O'Duffy airbase." He ordered the pilot, with a sense of authority in his tone. "Wilco." The pilot replied, turning the helicopter a few degrees right. "We should be on the ground ETA three minutes. From there, we are going to get into contact with the highest ranking military official, and he can get us on the line with the Ministry of Defense." Cody spoke to Knight. Cody reached into his jacket, revealing he had been conceal-carrying a pistol on him the entire time. "If .50 Brem doesn't put something down, nothing will." He uttered to himself as he checked to make sure the weapon was loaded. "This sure as Hell better not be an invasion."

As Station Texas reaches out to the Divinity the ship responds with the following message: "To the Free State of Cascadia, this is the Dominion Vessel Divinity. We are currently in pursuit of an individual brought to your world by the members of the crew of the USS Break of Dawn identified as 8. Once this individual is apprehended we will exit your space. Any interference will result in a declaration of war by the Dominion. We do not wish to harm you, but for the sake of all this must be done. Do not interfere."

---------
Easy Station

Henton presses a button on his wrist opening a local communications channel, "Station Easy, this is the Union vessel Alliance. We apologize for violating your space in this way, however, the situation demands that we follow the ship that arrived before us, the Dominion ship Divinity. In truth, we are just as confused as you. All we know is that this ship threatened us with war if we interfered and in the millions of years the Dominion has existed it has never declared war on any nation. This was not something we could let be. I once again apologize for this, but for the sake of your planet, please let us into your space so we can prevent this from escalating now that an inhabited world is involved."

Free State of Cascadia

"Sadly, that may not be enough." Knight says, "While it looks like a generally simple machine, 8's body is made of a metal alloy that is almost as strong as our hull plating on the Dawn. On top of that, I have a feeling we may need it alive." Knight reaches into her back pocket and pulls out a small device, tossing it to Cody, "That's a tool called a fuser. Had it before we left by chance. Normally its used for engineering repair work, but it may allow us to either cut through that armor or possibly overload 8's power source."

"As for the invasion bit, I can sadly confirm its not." Knight says solemnly, "During the only known war the Dominion of the Mantle has ever fought in modern history they never landed assault troops or ground forces. They would simply stay in orbit of a world and lash it to pieces using particle threads. They would wait until the world would unconditionally surrender to them or the defenders perish. If they occupied a world it was because it capitulated or nothing was left on it. It sounds cruel and overkill, but you have to understand that the Dominion has never declared war or invaded another nation in its millions of years of existence. Its their way of ensuring that no one invades or threatens them, so everyone from my universe keep clear of their space in terms of military assets. They are quite a charming and peaceful people otherwise. Military force is always their last resort, which is why the prospect that they just resorted to it immediately has me horrified as to why."

For the time-being, Station Texas observed the situation and was relatively silent. The fleet in the surrounding area maintained their formation, and simply watched the ship. They were armed and on standby should anything go wrong. Eventually, another message was transmitted to Divinity, "Divinity, this is Station Texas. We don't intend on interfering in something that isn't our fight, but it is necessary we know all the details, as this is our Home World and we will not tolerate seeing it damaged in the process of foreign operations. Who or what are you after, and why, over?" Station Texas transmitted.

Station Easy also replied to Alliance with surprising speed, "Alliance, Station Easy. We'll notify the top brass of the situation. You have our permission to use our Space. Make haste, Easy out."

Cody caught the device, looking it over. "We got a man-sized piece of ship armor running about, and this is our immediate, most efficient means of knocking him down should it come to that. Got it." He replied, nodding. "Well, if what you say about the Dominion is true, they sure as Hell better not be planning on doing any glassing." He thought for a moment, "Though something gives me the feeling if they were here to cause annihilation, we'd be on fire right now." He corrected.

It wouldn't take long before they arrived at the O'Duffy Airbase. They immediately landed on a helipad, and they were able to vacate the V-TOL fairly quickly. Cody was moving at a brisk pace. By the time they got there, it already appeared that the on-duty personnel were rushing into positions, as vehicles were rapidly moving materiel and manpower around. Cody darted his eyes around and waved for a Humvee driving by to stop for them, effectively hitch-hiking on the military vehicle on their way to the command post.

Once they had arrived, Cody led Knight into the building, and promptly approached an office, knocking on the door. "Sir? I got a visitor here, her name is Allison Knight, she's an officer aligned with friendly interdimensional visitors." It didn't take long at all for the Officer on the inside to reply sternly, "Come in." Inside the office, was a man likely in his late 30's or early 40's. He donned the regalia of that of a Cascadian Officer. His regalia was of a dark green color, and his hair was incredibly short and lightly greyed His uniform had a tag, reading Maj Peterson. "What is it you need?" The Major asked. "Direct line to the Minister of Defense." Cody said. The Major sighed, reaching over for his phone and dialing in a number. "Not too sure if we'll get him directly in time, this whole situation's got command up in a tizzy. Whatever you're gonna tell the M-O-D, it oughta be real important." The Major stated as he passed the phone over to Knight.

If someone were to make a checkbox for any elven language, the language of Azucur, Selenni, would check all the boxes. Even if he learned the language from this book, it would likely be an ordeal to understand the pronunciation. The letters R and A were particularly notorious for having different pronunciations throughout the world, and Selenni would be no different.

James, for a time, read through the book about the Selenni language. He definitely wasn't expecting to understand it all in a month, let alone a night, but he figured as long as he could learn enough to put two-and-two together, he should be able to read the books offered to him - and if he ever ran into something he didn't understand, he had the book as a reference, and Lymine to consult for such information. James took a crack at looking at some of the titles of the books she had referenced before, moving towards the exact shelf she had referenced earlier. He figured if he could read the title of a book, its table of contents and some basic information that the book contains, he could probably guesstimate how much Selenni he'd need to learn and potentially get started on the subject matter he came there for right away. Before reaching out for one, he made sure to carefully look over the cover. The fact alone that sentient book with teeth existed didn't fill him with a lot of confidence, and so he'd target whichever book sounded the most straightforward and innocent. Even though she had told him that such books were in her tower exclusively, the possibility that one could have been as much as potentially misplaced in the lower floor worried him.

Exlassia wrote:The properties of the plants closely resemble Earth analogs, but all of them are different. Especially notable plants are: trees that produce huge amounts of safe fruit, herbs that enhance flavors of a few foods, herbs that can help ease some common disease symptoms, and a plant that produces mana, which may be the source of all the mana.

Many animals are predators and dangerous, but there are quite a few herbivores and tameable creatures that can be used as beasts of burden.

The area is fairly abundant in important resources, but the nearest signs of oil are nearly a hundred miles away. The geology of the planet is surprisingly calm, given the planet has four large moons.

The area is decently mapped.

“That is a concerning history. I hope we can avoid that as our civilization grows here, and we can learn from our mistakes. Thank you for helping us out, it’s great to see friendly aliens as our first contact as opposed to hostile ones.”

Malcolm nodded and then said, “There are hostile forces out there as well. Three comes to mind. The first would be the Iron Warriors. The King of Kaniros attended a world summit, where he came in contact with them, slaver scum.” he said, his words laden with venom.

“Then there are their allies, the Saturnians. They seem to believe they’re doing the right thing, and on the outside they appear friendly, but raise every red flag once you see how their government operates.” He said and scratched his chin. “There’s a third member of their alliance known as Hahoalki, But I know very little about them. They did free the Iron Warriors’ slaves so I suppose they can’t be all bad.” he mentioned, although not even he himself was sure what to think of them.

“But the third blatantly hostile universe we’ve encountered was Vhakrad. Their universe is highly irregular. Since the summit, it seems as if their universe has just disconnected from the rift out of the blue.” Malcolm said.

“There’s also someone called Trazyn or Trayzn that may be hostile and a fourth species that attacked even our universe at some point. So far, we have learned nothing about them.” Malcolm said.

Once he finished his explanation, the Reconnaissance commandos uploaded their findings to Malcolm’s cybernetics. "Hmm, it seems my agents have finished their survey.” He said, “There are plants and herbs nearby that may prove efficient in primitive medicinal uses, and the lands are ripe with both predators and herbivores, some may be dangerous, but shouldn’t be too difficult to handle with whatever weapons I’ve seen.”

He laid a few fingers on his temple. “The area is abundant with resources you may need. An outpost may be an idea since the closest oil deposit is over 100 miles away. The seismic activity seems to be fine. I don’t believe you’ll have any problems with natural disasters like earthquakes here.”

Finally, one of the Reconnaissance commandos returned with a map and placed it down before them, “This is what I’ve gathered from the surrounding area.” he said with what appeared to be a heavily British accent. The map had marked down several animals and herbs and an arrow pointing the way to the oil deposit. They marked the richest mineral deposits with a ring.

Luckily for James, Lymine’s system was very comprehensive and none of the books here appeared hungry for man-flesh. She had not arranged the books alphabetically, as Selenni didn’t seem to have an alphabet going from A-Z. That was a human invention.

Instead, she organized each book by the subject they covered. Bestiaries, Spellbooks, Physics, Mathematics, History and Biology. All kinds of books were in here. If this was the amount of books on subjects on a single floor, it might take a lifetime to read all the books.

But if Human fantasy was anything to go by, it would stand to reason that an elf’s lifetime was a lot longer than a human.

She paid the voice no mind, casually stepping on and over the bones as she continued her approach. A gnawed skull charred and crunched under her foot.

As she walked, the plant fibre making up the walls ignited. Flames danced across the walls, ceiling and floor, spreading with Mimi as she walked forward.

Yet, the flames never harmed her— they would not lay a proverbial finger on their master.

The flames never got far as the sand and soil swallowed the flames quickly, there would be no possibility of causing widespread flames in this place, ignoring the voice was to the Ustunids a declaration of war and so, the tunnel behind her shut, she would never escape this place. A large wasp came from in front of her, it was large and blindingly fast, it emerged from the shadows, its long brood already nearing her chest in the span of a second.

As the sand and soil tried to swallow the flames, they fire began to coat the walls instead of engulfing them. The magical flames continued to spread, devouring anything they find.

As the Ustinids had made the ludicrously stupid decision of closing off the tunnel entrance when there was still fire inside of their caverns, the air also began to superheat.

The wasp, on the hand, never got a moment to charge. The moment Mimi saw movement in the shadows, she spoke.

“Burn.”

The flame in her hand exploded outwards— completely engulfing the wasp in less than a second. It’s wings burnt away, followed by its chitin, it’s flesh, it’s organs…

It was the purest form of agony possible. A fast death, yet not fast enough to be merciful.

Mimi smiled; the first of these bugs to offer themselves up for the pyre. Which amongst them would be next, she wondered?

She continued further into the cavern, the air within reaching 40 degrees Celsius.

The heat didn't seem to affect the Ustunids in the least, the caverns stretched far down, and the closer to the core one got, the warmer it would be, 40 degrees was nothing to them.

Showing her magic so early was a mistake, as the next one crawled out of a nearby tunnel, it shone red, any highly-trained mage would recognize the glow, it was a fire shield, it was possible the wasp had simply used it to escape the fire in their home, the problem remained. The various elemental shields of Iiqaath could entirely negate the effects of an elemental, in the case of fire shields, it was fire.

It wasn't just one shielded Ustunid, four more crawled out of the tunnels all around them, the first one opened its mouth and a stream of Acid spat from its mouth, another took flight and flew through the air attempting to sting her as there was no way any elf would survive the sting of an Ustunid for more than a split second.

The stinger pierced the flame-engulfed elf, and… the flames promptly collapsed. Revealing nobody within them.

Mimi had cloaked herself in flame, while spawning numerous ‘doubles’ of herself in the fire; it would be impossible to tell which was a humanoid made of flame and which one was Mimi herself.

Due to this, the acid stream missed. Of course.

She frowned. It seems the bugs were less primitive than they seemed.

She loathed to use any magic but fire… though perhaps the time called for it.

A burst of water erupted from her hands, and she focused on heating the liquid up. It quickly turned to steam, and as it was water instead of fire, it passed right through the shields.

For the shielded Ustinids, it was like being cooked alive by steam. Their flesh melted through their exoskeletons and their organs boiled as they died a hideous death.

Meanwhile, choking, noxious smoke began to flood the caverns from the burning bodies of the deceased. The air reached 60 degrees Celsius in temperature.

Mimi strode on. The flames followed behind her.

The entire cave suddenly began to cool faster than she could heat it as yet another ustunid strode forward, this one was armoured and larger with a more robust physique, "I am Qarurrax" it spoke, "You invade our home, and kill our workers, what do you want?" Qarurrax seemed to be a step up from the workers. He also had a shield, but it wasn't an elemental shield, it was a globe that surrounded him on all sides, it's propertied were unknown as she had never seen a spell like it. As the fire cooled down and began to quench, Mimi’s face twitched. Her eyes narrowed, her lips curled into what could be assumed to be a snarl.

Incinerate.

Focusing all of her magic on the imbecilic locust who dared to quench her fire, she cracked her knuckles. Every corpse and piece of debris within the tunnels became a pillar of fire, stretching vertically upwards. The fire snaked towards the shield, impacting it with a concussive force like that of a point-blank shotgun blast. It looked for any opening to get through; the slightest bit of weakness to present itself so that they may consume this bug whole.

It didn't work, the shield held against it all, it launched forward and grabbed hold of her before blasting through the ceiling raising high into the sky and throwing her downwards from 10 meters onto the ground, it let out a scream as other ustunid soldiers appeared from all over their empire. They kept their distance from both of them.

"I will give you a single chance, outsider. Leave these lands and never return, or I shall drown you in the Forbidden sea." Qarurrax bellowed, his voice was ripe with rage, as he spoke, ice spikes erupted from the ground, the area becoming much colder from the abundant ice.

[CONFLAGRATOR] is treated to the sight of Mimi Deliondel in the clutches of Qarurrax, surrounded by Ustinids. It knows not who either of them are, nor their species… only that it has found a suitable host.

[Destination]

Crystalline tendrils, entirely imperceptible to everyone, worm their way into the elf’s brain, permanently connecting her to the Shard.

[Agreement]

Mimi snarled. This couldn’t be happening; it couldn’t be… her flames, quenched? These damned bugs, better than her?!

It didn’t make sense. She refused to accept it. She refused to accept it. She refused… refused to…

…It was so cold…

In Quarrax’s clutches, Mimi began to froth and convulse, her eyes rolling into the back of her head as she [Triggers].

After a moment, Mimi’s eyes go back to normal… except for the fact that they’re glowing a bright orange.

She screams.

As she does, she disappears from the Ustinid’s grasp. As she does, a massive fiery explosion occurs— equivalent to a fireball from a very powerful spellcaster.

One of the Ustinids below explodes, killed instantly as fireball of identical strength is generated from within their body. It most likely kills all the bugs around them as well.

Mimi appears from within the flame, twitching and screaming. The emotion she’s showing is that of a wounded animal— furious and feral.

Another explosion is generated, and another cluster of Ustinids perishes. Again. And again. And again. Mimi appears at the tail end of each exploding teleport, daisy-chaining them together to get further and further away from the insects.

That isn’t all, though.

From each fireball, a creature crawls out. They lumbered forward on two legs and were each about the size of large humanoid, such as a troll or golem. They are composed entirely of fire.

Each of the fiery projections violently assaults any hostile entities near them— those most likely being the Ustinids. Their swipes cut through their chitin like butter, and they seem to ignore non-magical damage entirely.

Qarrurax snarls, he lets out a scream that makes every ustunid retreat, he then lands, disabling his shield, and finally he summons a portal, a massive portal, water pours out in all directions as Qarrurax retreats into the skies, not wanting to get caught up in what he had just done, his massive speed allows him to quickly get beyond the clouds, if it was one thing he didn’t want it was to get killed by what was about to emerge from his portal.

The Portal’s mouth was at the bottom of the forbidden sea. Suddenly a large tail-fin, like that of a whale, emerged splashing into the water again, creating great waves, a child of Awanata, the demigod of the sea. A Leviathan emerged, immediately drenching each abomination in the waters of the forbidden sea. It came up again, showing its mouth of razor-sharp teeth. It let out a roar that sounded across eastern Asaemun.

Qarrurax hadn’t summoned a Leviathan. He merely opened a portal where he knew there would be one.

Mimi turned sharply, eyes glowing brighter.

She growls as imperceptible calculations go on in the space between dimensions

[Threat Entity Detected->(Lessen Restrictions: Host)]

Mimi screams as a spike of pain surges through her head, and she slams the ground. A blast of fire— her fire, not that of her passenger’s— erupted from her body, evaporating a large portion of the water into steam.

She was still hit by the wave briny seawater, which flooded her lungs as she looked around.

Spotting a fish that had been thrown out of the water, she targets it. She disappears in an explosion of fire that evaporates the water around her, and the fish explodes soon after.

Both explosions generate another of the projections; though near-immediately drenched, they attempt to at least ward off the god-child— likely fruitlessly.

More water poured in as they were trying to fight the entire ocean, the leviathan roared once more, now calling down rain from the skies before splashing into the water, summoning a tsunami over the lands. The hide from this creature seemed to be on another level, it seemed to be agitated at something.

Mimi shrieks and falls to her knees as the pain gets worse.

[Threat Entity Detected->(Lessen Restrictions: Host)]

She twists her head, targeting a small insect a few hundred feet away that she absolutely shouldn’t have been able to see— generating two explosions as she warps to its location; two entities emerge from the fire.

Yet something is… different. The fire burns hotter, the explosions are larger, and the entities seem to have gotten bigger— they are lankier, more broad-shouldered, taller. They stride through the ocean, actually able to somewhat resist the water, and strike at the child of Awanata.

Panicked and frenzied, Mimi herself began to sprint away from the flood of the sea and the horror it contained.

The Leviathan roars and bites the attacker, it's teeth going straight through the being, tearing it into two pieces before diving, hopefully drowning it in the ocean, as it dives it's tail rises from the water and splashes, generating another tsunami, the entire empire was almost underwater by this point.

The Leviathan didn't seem to be a being they could beat.

It’s an endless cycle— the Shard lessens Mimi’s restrictions, her effects get more powerful, and yet the Levithan keeps pace with her.

Eventually, the Shard has enough.

[Threat Entity Detected->(Remove Restrictions: Host)]

[Assuming Control->Host]

The Shard itself takes control of Mimi, aiming her abilities until it finds a place that it deems to be safe.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t exactly have a good grasp on things required for the survival of organics.

Like breathing.

[Activation]

Mimi disappears entirely in an explosion of flame not to dissimilar to that that would be generated by a magical version of an incendiary missile.

She reappears in Hell.

As she vomits the seawater from her lungs, there’s something wrong. The air here burns, tastes and smells like sulphur— she coughs, but it only makes it worse.

Eventually, she blacks out, her entire body convulsing and twitching from the toxic fumes.

Back where she disappeared, an entity emerged— it was a hulking brute the size of a Cyclops, made of white-hot fire. Another one emerged where she had appeared.

The entity near the Leviathan let out roar and proceeded to engage it in combat. The water didn’t even effect it, vaporizing into steam the moment it touched its body.

Even still, it was a losing battle.
