COVID-19 has, so far, killed around 0.0002% of the world population. Not bad for a disease that's only been around for a few months, but for comparison, tuberculosis kills a hundred times that many people every year, but because it mostly happens in poor countries and isn't much of a problem in the first world, nobody cares.

I have suffered more inconvenience from humans overreacting to the situation than from the actual virus, which, with such numbers, I still fully expect to never actually encounter in my lifetime. It's not like I was ever in a high-risk demographic to begin with.

There's some good news, though: because of all the people staying at home and not using their cars, scientists have noticed a marked decrease in the amount of air pollution in many countries.

Honestly, seeing humanity's flaws laid bare like this almost makes me want to root for the virus.
