Tide begins to turn
Whilst reports are still fragmentary and unreliable, there are rumours that after a short period of respite and reorganising, the Commonwealth of Biggonia has begun to slow, and in some places, stop the lightning Imperial advance. Many have attributed this to the effective use of irregular troops and other militias involved in both sabotage and frontline combat, though the reformed Commonwealth Army, now renamed to the National Liberation Army (NLA), has played a part. The ruthlessness on both sides has been displayed to great effect, and shows the potential hypocrisy of the Commonwealth cause. This also gives modern artists plenty of material to work with.

Elsewhere, in the Shurdorf front, a huge propaganda campaign, spearheaded by frontline leafletting, has been launched by the Commonwealth. Reisburg's forces, now under Commonwealth command, have still not withdrew despite other areas of the front being more actively in danger. This is because if Shurdorf is taken, then it is widely believed that the Grenzland cause will fragment, leaving the Empire as a whole with fewer forces and appearing weaker. We have a leaflet here with us today, and the imagery is very striking. It depicts a demonic Jakob Premmel, Regent (and therefore effective ruler) of the Principality of Grenzland, guiding the hand of a young Prince Ivas to kill tiny Grenzlandian soldiers and civilians. Most analysts suggest that following this weakening of morale, an offensive will follow to one and for all capture Shurdorf.

Awesometonia to join MCTO!

In a recent virtual meeting between the Earthern and Awesometonian Governments, Awesometonia has expressed its wish to join the Multi-Continental Treaty Organization(MCTO). Following this, the Earthern Government has invited the leaders of Awesometonia to Brahmandapur to hold diplomatic talks regarding co-operation in economic and military sectors and to sign the Suvarnapur Treaty to join the MCTO. The meeting is scheduled to take place on 11 May, 2022. The Awesometonian leaders will also be taken on a tour of the capital city, Brahmandapur, whose construction was completed a few months ago.

The Earthern Deputy Prime Minister, Sno Joshibearia, told reporters that the main aim of the meeting was to discuss about increasing economic and military co-operation between the two nations. He also told that enhanced co-operation in the IT and basket-weaving sectors would be beneficial to both nations as both Earthern Alliance and Awesometonia have large basket-weaving and IT sectors. Earthern Alliance will also start increasing investments in Awesometonia and major Earthern IT companies are also expected to increase their presence in Awesometonia in the near future.

Today it was announced that Awesometonia would join the Multi-Continental Treaty organisation. Steve Jobs announced that the move would bring economic prosperity to both The Earthern Alliance and Awesometonia as well as heightened military strength. Another change that could occur is the large state-owned IT company "Apple" said it would "Conduct a massive increase of presence in the Earthern Alliance."

Earthern population now at 2 billion!

The Earthern population has crossed the 2 billion population mark on 10 May, 2022. Several firework displays were seen across the nation, celebrating the population milestone. The growth of the Earthern population is propelled by a relatively high birth rate compared to a very low death rate due to the availability of excellent public and private healthcare services in the nation. Earthern Alliance is also noted to have one of the highest life expectancies in the world at more than 91 years. More than 20% of the Earthern population is below the age of 15. A large young population is expected to benefit Earthern Alliance as it will provide a large skilled populace in the future due to a good public education system as well as more workers for industries requiring a large workforce.
