Why did I make this region?
Mostly because I got tired of getting TGs about stuff I didn’t care about in The North Pacific.
Ahoy-hoy!
Hoy-ahoy!
When you think of a title, I’ll give you that and control over polls and embassies.
The Right Honourable Viceroy of Alyr.
A humble title I know ;)
This is a grand day my fellow... Alyrians? Alyrans? Alyrs? One of those probably, to be in this bold new region. Have a poll about how great it is! :D
Do we all get titles or are we not all special enough?
Thank you, Rt. Hon. Viceroy.
Also, Alyrians is fine.
What title do you want?
Uh, Lord Grand Praetor?
Done. Andsed?
Uh how about Lord Consul?
Brilliant we now have a proper government, you can tell that we do because everyone has a title and the vote is split.
I love democracy.
Heloin, Valrifell, and Andsed
Well that ain’t the highest bar to pass.
Valrifell and Abserdia
The ultimate goal setting strategy.
So I don’t really plan on this region being huge, but I’d very much like to see it get decently sized and I will never leave it. So if you have any friends here on NS who aren’t involved much in their region or are still in a default region, go ahead and mention Alyr to them.
Just a little notice for y’all.
Also, I may make a flag.
And if anyone has ideas for regional dispatches, feel free to suggest them.
Flag referendum!
Like most region based things I'm not actually sure how to do that or what doing that means.
I’m thinking 4 vertical/horizontal stripes using the most prominent colors in our current flags. Maybe purple, brown, red, and green.
It would probably look horrible, but it would catch eyes at least?
I can pin dispatches to the WFE, stuff like rules for the RMB or even a full constitution.
I’m not too interested in writing a constitution or other RP stuff at the present moment, and the rules would ultimately come down to “don’t be a jerk,” so there’s not much I can think of.
Fun fact! Heloin does have a flag that isn't Nanachi:
Use National flag and ensign
Proportion 1:2
Adopted 7 June 2002
Design Three horizontal stripes of
red, white, and green with a black
vertical rectangle on the hoist side bearing
a Lion grasping a Tusk with a thin white
stripe separating it from the tricolour
The national flag of Heloin is a tricolour of red, white, and green with a black rectangle containing a Lion grasping a Tusk at it's base separated from the rest of the flag by a thin white strip. The present design was adopted on 7 June 2002 as part of agreements that ended the 3rd Heloian Bush War. The Lion with the Tusk is a national Symbol for Heloin used in previous flags and coats of arms.
History
The flag of Heloin has always been a continuous issue to the people of Heloin. Following independence in 1971 Heloin's white minority government adopted a flag identical to that of Rhodesia with only a different coat of arms to set them apart in 1972. After the end of the 2nd Bush War the Flag of the Heloin African National Congress would be adopted in 1995 to express the new united nation. A new flag would be adopted in 1997 following a white military coup. Following the end of hostilities in 2001 the pre-UDI flag was adopted as a provisional flag until a new one could be adopted. On March 30, 2002, the thirty first anniversary of UDI a referendum choosing several flags including the pre-UDI flag was held. The winning flag received 72% of the vote and was chosen, being adopted by Parliament on June 7th, 2002.
Design and symbolism
The colours of the flag of Heloin are made up of Pan-African colours and the National Colours of Heloin. The colours of the tricolour hold a important place in Heloin's past. The Green represents the prosperity of the country and it's history before the Bush Wars. The Red for those who lost there lives for Heloin in all wars and Heloin's future that was accomplished by their sacrifice. The White for the end of War and the start of a new Heloin. The Black rectangle at the flags base is for the black majority and the white stripe stands for the white minority. The Lion with an Ivory Tusk represents the Nation of Heloin itself, grasping it's natural wealth and displaying the countries strength.
