The year 2030 has just started. Vieinia, it isn't the same as it used to be. After that asteroid hit Vieinia, we entered a time of grief and prosperity. Sea levels are rising, yet Vieinia has also entered a 2nd Industrial Revolution. We have gained something magical after discovering Divine Minerals, the pieces of asteroid that infected the gems and minerals here at Vieinia. An infective virus called "Stone Blood" has been infecting everyone, with remains from divine minerals inside their blood. But this virus isn't a bad thing, good.

"Wait what?" the Theological Monarch* of Vieinia, Mathis de Lesario said. "It's true! The head of the Department of Health responded. "This blood creates magic. Please demonstrate." An assistant of the head walks in the middle of the Prime Minister's office. She bleeds out of her nails, and the moment the blood comes out, they burst into flames. "An infinite source of heat?" The minister smirked. "Tell the head of the Department of Labor and Employment to visit us. Also the rest of the Department heads, please. I need this government to be in order after that whole asteroid situation..."

10 days pass. Every Department head, their assistant, and the Theological Monarch is in a big meeting room.

"How does this virus affect nature? What if animals develop this virus? Do you want snakes with the ability to fly?!" Head of the Department of Animals and Ecology stated.

"Don't worry, we have all of the Divine Minerals contained so far. The only possibility of getting the virus is either with a permit, which requires special training, or you get the Virus beforehand. The Department of has already got all of the people infected in quarantine to reduce further infections. I will make a nationwide announcement tomorrow introducing this situation, and also the vote for the National Religion.

*Mathis taps the microphone.* Hello, testing microphone.
...
Very good. I have started this announcement for 2 reasons. Yes, I know all of you are ACHING to hear news about the virus, especially you folks deciding to watch this online. Yes, your theological monarch has not forgotten about you. To the kids watching this, a Theological Monarch is a ruler, such as a king or queen, whose status has been chosen by divine judgment. Either by being blessed by the church, the pope, or divine intervention. Speaking of which, why not we reveal what won the National Religion poll before we get to the virus?
*Mathis grabs a piece of paper handed by his assistant.*
"For Eastern Orthodox..."
"27%."
*Audible disappointment can be heard from the crowd.*
"For Roman Catholic..."
"32%."
*Claps and subtle agreements can be heard from the crowd.*
And winning for the national religion is...
"DEUS EUROPA, with 41% of the vote!"
*The crowd is drowned with ear-deafening applause and cheers.*
"Now what is Deus Europa, you may ask. Simple! It is a freedom-based religion, with a similar basis to Roman Catholicism. Its core tenets are Forgiveness, Letting go of the past, and accepting the world as it is. The world will always be changing, and so will you, inside your heart. Now, let's go onto the virus! Stone Blood is the new virus that surfaced after the asteroid. And yes, it can give you quote-on-quote, magic. However, we consider it as a weapon, and we would outlaw it, but due to the rules of Deus Europa, and being a Theological Monarchy, we must allow Stone Blood to be used. It will still have limitations, especially in public, so we are currently giving out free lessons on how to control it, if you didn't get the virus, new schools teaching you how to use it will now be created, and you can apply to gain the virus. Thank you citizens of vieinia, and always remember our motto. Gratiam ad vivo! You may now go in peace."

ROPANAMA

The People's Republic of Ropanama commonly called Ropanama is a socialist government in The North Pacific. Ropanama covers 155,239 square kilometers and has an estimated population of 297 million. Ropanama comprises of 14 states.

Ropanama plays a significant role as a nation with unique characteristics, a rich history, and a distinctive place on the global stage.

Etymology

The oldest recorded name for Ropanama dates back to the 12th century when it was referred to as "Rapanīma." This name was coined by the natives who governed the land before the Hurrian invasions. In the now-extinct Rœpaniman language, "Rapanīma" translated to "green land," reflecting the lush and verdant characteristics of the region.

Alternative names such as "Lupānāma" and "Rubanama" were also in use among other indigenous tribes during this period, showcasing the linguistic diversity and cultural richness present in the various communities that inhabited the area.

History

Ancient Times:
In the ancient times of Ropanama, the land was inhabited by various tribes and tribal confederacies. These tribes had their distinct cultures, languages, and social structures. They lived in harmony with the land, utilizing its resources and developing their own customs and traditions.

Over time, interactions between the tribes led to the formation of tribal confederacies, which allowed for cooperation in trade, defense, and cultural exchange. These confederacies played a significant role in shaping early Ropanaman society and setting the stage for future developments.

Hurrian Empire Times:
In ancient history, the land that would later become Ropanama was part of the vast and powerful Hurrian Empire. The Hurrians, an advanced civilization known for their architectural achievements and cultural contributions, exerted significant influence over the region. Ropanama was a prosperous province within the empire, benefiting from trade, infrastructure development, and cultural exchange.

Independence and the Struggle for Freedom:
In the 14th century, as the Hurrian Empire faced internal unrest and external pressures, the people of Ropanama began to yearn for self-determination. Inspired by the ideals of freedom and autonomy, a movement for independence began to take shape. This movement was fueled by influential leaders, intellectuals, and passionate individuals who sought to break free from imperial rule.

The struggle for independence reached its peak in the late 14th century, culminating in the War of Ropanaman Independence. Led by prominent figures like Herevat Jukata and a coalition of revolutionaries, Ropanama fought bravely against the Hurrian Empire's forces. The war was marked by intense battles, guerilla tactics, and a strong spirit of national unity.

Crowned Republic and the Era of Transition:
Following the successful war for independence, Ropanama transitioned into a new era of governance. The nation adopted a system known as the Crowned Republic, where the monarch's role was largely ceremonial, and executive and constitutional powers were exercised by other governing bodies.

The leader of Ropanama during this time held the title of "Dux omnium," symbolizing their position as the leader of all. The Crowned Republic represented a balance between monarchical traditions and the aspirations for democratic governance, with the monarch serving as a unifying figurehead for the nation.

Nationalist Era and Colonialism:
In the 16th century, Ropanama witnessed a surge of nationalist sentiments and a growing desire for asserting its own identity on the global stage. This nationalist era was characterized by a strong emphasis on Ropanaman culture, language, and traditions, fueling a sense of pride and unity among the population.

However, as Ropanama sought to expand its influence and protect its interests, it also ventured into overseas colonization. The nation established colonies in distant lands, further extending its reach and contributing to its economic and political power.

This period of colonialism was marked by both opportunities and challenges, as Ropanama navigated the complexities of governing overseas territories while asserting its national interests. The interactions with indigenous peoples and the impact of colonization shaped Ropanama's history and its relationship with other nations.

Industrial Revolution and Technological Advancements:
The 19th century brought sweeping changes to Ropanama as the Industrial Revolution took hold. The nation experienced rapid industrialization, with the establishment of factories, steam-powered machinery, and advancements in manufacturing processes. This technological revolution fueled economic growth, leading to the rise of urban centers, the expansion of trade networks, and the emergence of a middle class.

Modernization and Infrastructure Development:
During this era, Ropanama underwent extensive modernization efforts. The government invested in the construction of railroads, bridges, and canals, connecting previously isolated regions and fostering greater mobility and trade. Modern infrastructure facilitated the movement of goods, services, and people, contributing to economic prosperity and societal development.

Cultural Renaissance and Intellectual Movements:
The 19th century witnessed a cultural renaissance in Ropanama. Artists, writers, and intellectuals flourished, exploring new ideas, literary works, and artistic expressions. The nation became a hub of creativity and intellectual discourse, with literary salons, art exhibitions, and philosophical debates shaping the cultural fabric of society.

Political Reforms and Calls for Democracy:
The era was also characterized by growing demands for political reforms and calls for greater democracy. Intellectual and political movements emerged, advocating for increased civic participation, expanded suffrage, and government accountability. Prominent figures within Ropanaman society led the charge for democratic ideals, pushing for greater representation and social justice.

Social Transformations and Social Movements:
The 19th century witnessed profound social transformations in Ropanama. The expanding middle class and growing urban centers brought about changes in social structures and norms. Social movements advocating for workers' rights, women's suffrage, and social equality gained momentum, shaping public discourse and challenging traditional hierarchies.

Exploration and Scientific Endeavors:
The 19th century was a time of exploration and scientific advancements in Ropanama. Expeditions were launched to uncover the nation's natural wonders, leading to the discovery of new species, archaeological sites, and geological formations. Ropanaman scientists and explorers made significant contributions to fields such as botany, zoology, anthropology, and geology.

Challenges and Inequalities:
Despite the progress and advancements, the 19th century also brought challenges and social inequalities. The rapid industrialization led to harsh working conditions and exploitation of laborers, sparking labor movements and calls for workers' rights. Social divisions, including disparities between the rich and the poor, prompted debates about social justice and economic reforms.

20th Century
The 20th century proved to be a challenging period for Ropanama, as cracks started to appear in the nation's unity and a wave of discontent swept across various sectors of society. Ropanama grappled with internal strife, worker strikes, and the emergence of separatist movements that sought to assert their own identities and rebel against the government.

One such separatist movement was the Brickersburg Commune. Rooted in the industrial city of Brickersburg, this movement gained momentum as workers rallied for greater rights and improved living conditions. Inspired by socialist ideals, the Brickersburg Commune aimed to establish a self-governing community where workers would have greater control over their lives and the means of production.

In the coastal regions of Ropanama, the Coastal Liberation Front rose to prominence. Fueled by a desire for autonomy and local empowerment, this movement sought to challenge the central government's control and assert the unique cultural heritage of coastal communities. The Coastal Liberation Front advocated for sustainable development, protection of coastal resources, and preservation of their distinct way of life.

In the highland regions, the Highland Sovereignty Movement emerged as a voice for communities seeking self-determination and recognition of their cultural identity. Motivated by a deep attachment to their ancestral lands and a desire to safeguard their traditions, the movement called for greater autonomy and the right to govern their own affairs, free from centralized control.

The Riverland Liberation Army, on the other hand, found its support among communities living along the major rivers of Ropanama. These communities, feeling marginalized and neglected by government policies, fought for equitable access to water resources and a say in water management decisions. The Riverland Liberation Army emphasized the importance of the rivers in their cultural heritage and livelihoods.

Meanwhile, the Unity Front for Indigenous Rights represented the diverse indigenous communities of Ropanama. This movement aimed to protect indigenous cultures, lands, and traditions from encroachment and assimilation. They demanded recognition of indigenous sovereignty, self-governance, and respect for their rights and territories, emphasizing the importance of preserving their unique identities.

These separatist movements of the 20th century reflected the growing discontent and aspirations for self-determination, social justice, and cultural preservation among different regions and communities in Ropanama. They challenged the authority of the central government and sparked a national dialogue on the need for inclusivity, fair representation, and respect for diverse identities within the country.

Ropanaman Civil War
Under the presidency of Frederick Konovat, who emphasized military strength and led a nationalist conservative republic, tensions escalated between various factions within Ropanaman society. Here is a account of the civil war and the factions involved:

President Frederick Konovat, a charismatic and authoritarian leader, instilled a sense of nationalism and conservative values among his supporters. However, his policies and governing style alienated a significant portion of the population, leading to a growing opposition movement.

The civil war erupted as anti-Konovat forces, driven by a range of ideologies and grievances, mobilized against the government. Among the factions involved were:

  • People's Laborist Unions of Ropanama (PLUR):
The PLUR, in its early form, represented the interests of workers and advocated for better working conditions, fair wages, and workers' rights. They saw Konovat's regime as exploitative and sought to establish a more equitable society.

  • Order of Fascist Restoration:
The Order of Fascist Restoration, an extremist faction, believed in the supremacy of a strong and authoritarian government. They saw Konovat as a leader who could restore Ropanama to its perceived glory. Their methods were characterized by violence and suppression of opposing views.

  • Nationalist Vanguard:
The Nationalist Vanguard, a group of fervent nationalists, viewed Konovat as the embodiment of Ropanaman strength and identity. They sought to defend their version of Ropanaman culture and eliminate any perceived threats to their national values.

  • Socialist Revolutionary Front:
The Socialist Revolutionary Front, a socialist faction, saw Konovat's government as an oppressive regime serving the interests of the elite. They aimed to establish a more egalitarian society, advocating for wealth redistribution and social justice.

  • Democratic Coalition:
The Democratic Coalition brought together various democratic-minded individuals and groups. They rejected Konovat's autocratic rule and called for a government that respected individual liberties, human rights, and the rule of law.

  • Separatist Movements:
Several separatist movements also emerged during the civil war, seeking independence or greater autonomy for their respective regions. These movements, driven by regional identities and grievances, added further complexity to the conflict.

The civil war witnessed fierce battles, guerrilla warfare, and intense ideological clashes. The nation was divided along political, social, and regional lines, with each faction vying for control and seeking to shape the future of Ropanama according to their vision.

The conflict resulted in significant loss of life, widespread destruction, and displacement. It tested the resilience of the Ropanaman people and challenged their sense of national identity. The civil war would ultimately shape the future trajectory of Ropanama, leaving a lasting impact on its politics, governance, and societal dynamics.
