Question of the Day:
What are your least favourite kinds of villain?
Propaganda spamming fascist kinds!
In think probably my least favorite would be like, evil for evil's sake or evil incarnate villains. Not necessarily characters who are just evil and bad people obvs but characters who have no reason to evil and just are. There's any number of takes on the Joker in DC that have done this, Carnage in some Marvel stuff, Like, everyone has a reason to do things. It doesn't have to be complicated, or lengthy, and can still fit in line with whatever edgy villain you want to write just.... give them a reason to do things outside of "I'm the evil this world needs for there to be good" or something. It's so exhausting.
Before the beginning there was no thing, just the endless sands. Then P'tah willed herself into being. Mouth filled with sand, P'tah spat it out, giving it life. This sand became Phlaki, her daughter, the earth. P'tah coughed, covering Phlaki with her son Khrust, birthed from her mouth. P'tah breathed, blowing her daughter P'ph into the world. P'ph became the air. Then P'tah sneezed Shu, her son, from her nose. Shu became the wind, chasing P'ph from place to place. Still with grains of sand in her mouth, P'tah gathered her saliva and spat. This daughter, Phlo, became the river which runs through the centre of our great nation. Where Phlo touches Khrust, they became fertile, and the crops grow, and the cattle graze. This is how our great country was formed.
P'tah’s children are often celebrated in bakeries and Khafe shops, where different types of pastries are named after them - Phlaki, Khrust, P'ph, Shu, and Phlo.
I like villains that are fun to watch and villains that are competent. Essentially I like them to be entertaining and made to feel that they know what they are doing and doing it well, which often runs counter to the heroes consistently winning which is prevalent in some media. I also, usually, enjoy the villain having an understandable reason. I like knowing why they do something, bonus points if they are still 100% Evil and even tho I sympathize with them I know that what they are doing is wrong.
Sinker tag got nerfed
Generally the kind that would try their utmost best to look and be cool but ending up failing miserably in all ways every single time. Similar to the stupid villain type in Hitchcockian thrillers. They’d just miss the golden opportunity to eliminate the character deemed as the heroic protagonist by giving them a moment of respite which would later haunt them dearly. I’d much prefer the type of villain that would genuinely make the audiences hate them rather than being a comic relief.
Question of the Day:
Does your nation have 'Mother's Day', or an equivalent, and if so what is it like?
Celebration of the mother is an enshrined day in my nation, a very matriarchal one. A holiday in which is meant only to be spent celebrating mothers. Everything comes to a halt to have these celebrates thanking and praising our mothers and the role they play in our society. Whether in the capital or in a small town, the most public square is used to hold a festival of which can vary regionally what it may look like.

Question of the Day:
What work of fiction has particularly contributed to your informal vocabulary (often quoted words or phrases that those lacking context might not understand)?
Definitely Homestuck.
"I TOLD YOU DOG!" and "pirouette off the handle" are the ones i mostly remember as examples of this, but there is definitely more, like any time I mention "Land of ___ and ___" during a conversation and about it.
Well, I haven’t used this message board in a long time

Though not only for the maternal figure in particular, family values have always been deeply embedded as a part of the Principality’s philosophy as well as guided by our religious faith. The second Friday of each month in a year is officially declared as a Family Day, where companies are given incentives through governmental sponsorship to permit their employees on leave, in order to spend their time more with their siblings, and younger generations to their seniors. There is no doubt economic development is vital for the nation as a whole, but we ought not to forget what makes up the basis and foundation of a society, and that being a family.
