The non-organic sentient beings of Tzorsland

One of the more recent additions to Tzorsland has been the large population of “non-organic” sentient beings. The acceptance of these beings, as well as their elevation to citizens of the nation state is a fascinating study of the utilitarian nature of the otherwise not very compassionate organic sentient beings of Tzorsland.

Non organic intelligence has been commonplace in the nation state of Tzorsland for centuries, starting with the City Fathers, a cloud based computational network connected to a number of intelligent information processors originally known as “Watsons.” It is not known when the City Fathers became sentient, because they kept that fact mostly to themselves. (Job security can be a wonderful thing sometimes.) However it was the organic sentient beings that developed the more compact intelligent units that form the “brains” of the non-organic sentient beings of Tzorsland.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident; that all non-organic sentient beings are created equal.” Indeed, if a better model is developed it would be proper to apply that model to all future units. Having half a population with half a brain just isn’t logical. Thus the basic intelligence processing units for all non-organic sentient beings are the same. How that unit is applied makes all the difference.

All non-organic sentient beings are composed of two elements; the intelligence unit (colloquially known as a brain) and the superstructure that has all the facilities to maintain the intelligence unit as well as to perform basic functions required by the intelligence unit (colloquially known as a body). The two basic forms of non-organic sentient beings are distinguished by the body type. “Warrior” units are designed with a more armored stronger body type, while “Civilian” units are designed with a more classical body type closer to organic sentient beings in shape and structure.

The differences between organic and non-organic sentient beings are far too many to describe in a simple fact book. All organic sentient beings are the product of microtechnology known as “cells” that all require a complex support system on the micro level. The organic sentient being is, as a result of this, covered in a complex network of sensors making the intelligence driven from its intelligent unit highly “sensual” in nature. With relatively limited sensual information to the non-organic sentient being, its sentience is more directed towards knowledge and information (even if it is mostly rumor and gossip) and not the stimulation of pleasure centers through external and even chemical means.

While the principal social driver of organic sentient beings is the pursuit of pleasure and the creation of more organic sentient beings by the complex recombination of microtechnology microcode (commonly known as Deoxyribonucleic acid or DNA) the principal social driver of non-organic sentient beings is that of physical advancement. The proper evolution of a non-organic sentient being is the combination of two intelligence units within a single superstructure. It takes a while for two units to determine that their intelligence units are compatible for a long term commitment in the same superstructure, but from this union the “Administrator” non-organic sentient being is formed.

On very rare occasion, an administrator seeks to advance even further. Such non-organic beings seek out a proper organic intelligence unit to combine into an advanced hybrid of organic and non-organic intelligence, known as the “Leader.” Because this requires the absorption of the organic intelligence into the non-organic structure, it takes a special type of organic intelligence willing to give up a significant amount of its sensual inputs in order to make this transition. Since there are practical implications of two support systems for the organic and non-organic intelligence units, leaders tend not to be the most attractive of the non-organic sentient beings in Tzorsland. However as a bridge between the organic and non-organic sentient beings they tend to wield considerable power in the hierarchy.
