The Crown War was a bloody conflict that occurred from 1806 to 1813, involving four nobles and their parties each wanting control of the nation after founder Rickard Pentulis' death. The first noble, Cassar Malech, was born the heir to throne of a farming empire, and used his money to buy support. The second noble, Raunid of Bourges, was a typical silver spoon child, only known for his role in this conflict, even though he didn't last long. The third noble was the ex-general Bomir Fantuul, whose pivotal role in helping defend the young nation from potential foreign aggression mustered him a large amount of supporters. He was also the original wielder of the legendary sword Chaosfang, which was gifted to him when he joined the military by his blacksmith uncle. The sword is rumored to instill fear in the enemies of the official wielder. The final figurehead in the conflict was Odos the Immortal, a highly political man who killed 5 men who each attempted to assassinate him on separate occasions, gaining a large following of people believing him to be a god. The goal of the conflict was for one of the nobles to take hold of the crown formerly belonging to Pentulis, or to wipe out all opponents. The noble to perform either of these actions would become the new ruler of 001AmEricA100. The crown was located at the palace of the capital city Pentuluon (now Rickard Pentulisland). This volume of the story is simply an introduction to the situation and the fighters, while the later volumes will focus on the events during and after the war.
