De Waarheid Vol. 3 No. 11: UFT dominates election debate, Tushtoan voter survey and scientists present solution to water crisis

Last Friday was the De Waarheid national election debate of 2026, where Kees of RadiCommunism, Flip Tuimelaar from the Nationale Authoritaire Patriottenpartij, Willy Maneson from United Front of Tushto, Arjen Lubach of Schijf van Trijf and Laurens Otters from Volt debated about Tushto's most important issues.
The debate began with all parties clearly being good contenders; RadiCommunism and SvT quickly positioned themselves as the main parties for workers rights and climate action, UFT and Volt emphasised democracy and NAPP mainly focused on a rightist anti-immigration agenda.
Halfway through the debate however, it became clear that mainly UFT was on the winning side, successfully positioning itself as the party for stability in politics. One particular line from Willy Maneson especially resonated with voters: "The question isn't whether RadiCommunism can govern alone, or whether NAPP can govern alone; it's whether anyone can govern together." This line positioned UFT as the party for stability in parliament amongst voters, seen by the voter polls regarding various subjects, rather than becoming trapped in the increasingly familiar ideological debate. At several other points, Maneson appeared to be deliberately letting RC and NAPP attack eachother to position UFT as a stable centre.
Another party that gained a lot from this debate is Volt. Volt's success came from a different strategy though; while not having many outstanding one-liners, Volt positioned itself as a more leftist alternative to UFT, while also emphasising the importance of democracy itself more than UFT did. This has resulted in a boost in the polls for Volt too, though not as major as the one of UFT.
With the elections now less than two weeks away, debates are starting to have more and more effect. Whether the debate has created a temporary polling bump or the beginning of a lasting change remains uncertain, but one thing is already clear: after Friday night, United Front of Tushto is no longer merely a potential coalition partner; it has established itself as one of the central forces of the 2026 election.
