Edoca and Montenay has a Discord, but it's mostly used by diplomats and rarely hosts discussions nor events. We operate primarily on-site and there are currently no plans to change this course.
Many come to Edoca and Montenay expecting to find an active or at least somewhat vital Discord server. We find it necessary to explain our dilemma to those curious:
E+M is a regional duo characterized by our unconventionality and our commitment towards allowing all to feel included. Large swathes of our membership cannot access or do not want to join Discord for a NationStates region. We've grown to operate with such restrictions in mind, and we've grown to appreciate our status as a region that prides itself on not forcing new users to join a Discord just to enjoy what E+M has to offer.
As such, we host most of our regional apparatuses on-site, leading us to have little reason to maintain and promote our Discord. Edoca's RMB is up there with the most active frontier RMBs, and Edocans and Montenayans must register to vote through a telegram and actually vote through Google Form. While it is true that it would be easier to host a Discord for most parts of our region's functions, we find that the onus of creating an equal experience for all Edocans and Montenayans is on us and something we must see through rather than copping out to a Discord server.

If you are new to E+M and think you should join our Discord to witness our "activity" or get further involved, we recommend you don't. You will be confused or even disappointed. The fact of the matter is that our activity and involvement isn't in our Discord.
You may ask "Who is our Discord for?" And that's a fair question. The current state is that our Discord is mostly used by non-Edocans and Montenayans to reach our government members and share diplomatic business.
If you want to join, go ahead. We are not denying you from the Discord. We do think that you do such with these expectations, however.
