2035 (Preamble): World War Three was the largest war in human history, with 480 million deaths. Before the full war started however, a war started between China and Taiwan, because a Chinese military plane was shot down by Taiwan after flying over Taiwanese airspace "accidentally", used as a justification for war against Taiwan. Japan and South Korea, being allied to Taiwan as they've cooperated many times in the past, declared war on China for this; a risky move, because both sides had nuclear weapons. China, likely able to win the war but at a very high cost, decided to ask support from their former enemy of India in exchange for the Chinese claim on Kashmir. India agreed, and declared war on Taiwan, but only sending aid to China due to geographic separation, believing that this is only beneficial as India itself wouldn't directly be at war, which wouldn't be the case shortly after. After India got involved, so did the Sovet Union, being allied to China; A Sovet declaration of war on Japan came, to increase Sovet global influence. North Korea, seeing the chaos happening in east Asia, saw its chance to invade South Korea, and did so, quickly gaining ground. However, not all went well for the invading nations, which decided to call themselves the New World Order (NWO), as revolutions started in Lithuania and Ukraine against the actions of the Sovet Union. These revolts were supported by the EDF, and this support was seen as an act of war by the Sovet Union, which in turn declared war on the EDF along with their ally the USA, marking the start of the thrid world war.

2035 (WWIII): The revolutions in Lithuania and Ukraine started successfully, with Kiev, Kherson, Kharkiv, L'viv and Vilnius being taken by the revolutions. However, the Sovet Union did progress otherwise in Europe, with Estonia, Latvia and Georgia being devastated. Meanwhile, on the other side of the EDF, despite strong European support, the USA took a sizeable part of the populous Canadian south.
The NWO had some support around the globe: India, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Hungary and Cuba were directly involved, and BRICS supported them too. Because of this, the GDF, which was the name of the global alliance between the EDF, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, got its own allies too; India was attaked by Pakistan in late 2035, with the unexpected attack damaging India a lot; Honduras and Costa Rica attacked Nicaragua, overrunning the nation in months in mid-2035; Colombia declared war on Venezuela, although this didn't go well, with Venezuela taking the offensive.
Meanwhile, in Eastern Asia, the war started off dire for the GDF; Taiwan lost land to China and South Korea was doing even worse.

2036: While the Sovet Union was doing mixed in the war, taking land from the Baltics and Romania but losing to the now more organised Lithuanian and Ukrainian revolts, Hungary already capitulated.
As there are elections in the USA every four years, in there were elections in 2036 too. These resulted in Donald Trump's fourth term. With more and more people realising Trump wasn't a democratically elected president but a dictator committing election fraud, he got assassinated two weeks after the elections. In response to this, revolts happened across the nation, especially in regions generally voting more democrat, which lead to Canada retaking land because the American military was distracted by these revolts.
Due to a lack of American support in late 2036, Venezuela's advance into Colombia was halted right before Venezuelan forces would reach Bogota. However, Colombia remained weak, and it wasn't sure if the lines could be held for long enough. Venezuela was the only country really suffering from lack of American support though, as North Korea was doing great; only the area around South Korea's second largest city, Busan, wasn't conquered. However, the situation wasn't going as well for China, as Taiwan was fiercely resisting Chinese advances due to strong Japanese support. China, in a very controversial move, decided to use a nuclear weapon against Japan, which was responded to with a Japanese nuclear strike against China. Seeing this, India and Pakistan also used nuclear weapons against eachother, making the death toll increas drastically.

2037: After the assasination of Trump, the amount of people opposing the Sovet leader Vladimir Putin and China's leader Jiang Shigong grew, and these were both assasinated to, drastically worsening the NWO's situation; Lithuania set up a provisional government while Latvia was retaking land from the Sovet Union, protecting Riga. Not all is lost for the Sovets though, as only the Saarenmaa islands remain Estonian, with the rest being conquered.
Seeing no real way for the United States to win WWIII in it's current form, the United States has done the most controversial attack in world history; a series of nuclear strikes for Operation America, where tens of millions were killed in total in Toronto, Bogota, Amsterdam, Liverpool, Birmingham, Bordeaux, Berlin, London, Madrid, Rome, Paris, Hamburg, Warsaw and more. Right after this, many in the US military switched sides to support the revolutions, leading to the US government capitulating to the revolution. A temporary government was installed, and the United States sincerely apologised to all countries victim of Operation America and promised to help rebuild the destroyed cities. Operation American proved to be useful for the NWO on one side, as Colombia was in chaos, and Venezuela was rapidly advancing against Colombia, but also useful for the GDF, with American aid to South Korea causing the North Korean army to be halted at Busan and even driven back a little.
On the Asian fronts, signs of WWIII coming to an end were occurring; in China, tiredness of war caused revolutions to start, with ethnic minorities like Mongolians, Manchurians and Tibetans and ideological groups like democrats and socialists rising up against the government, with Taiwan retaking some land; Pakistan and India signed armistices, because their armies were almost nonexistant from the large fights and nuclear strikes.

2038: In response to the revolutions in China, the Sovet Union also entered a state of civil war, as many small minorities rose up. This caused Poland and its Baltic allies to advance against the Sovets too. Now lacking Sovet support too, North Korea was also taking hits, with South Korea advancing past the former border in late 2038. People in newly conquered territories were being deported to southern Korea, to make sure they wouldn't face the horrors of Kim Jong-Un's oppression.
Right when Colombia was about to capitulate to Venezuela, an American invasion freed the nation, right after an invasion of Cuba.
As the Chinese government became less powerful than the democratic and socialist revolutions, those revolutions were now fighting eachother too. Though the democrats had support from most minority uprisings, the socialist had more Chinese local support, leading to the socialists becoming slightly stronger.

2039: The Sovet Union is in total chaos; inspired by the Chinese, democratic and socialist revolutions started in the Sovet Union too. Meanwhile, the state and its military were weakening a lot too, as the many of the Sovet Union's republics, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, declared indepencence from the union. With now one of the three NWO giants having switched sides and the other two being in total chaos, the last remaining minor NWO states had no hope left; Venezuela capitulated to the American-Colombian invasion in August and North Korea capitulated to South Korea in December.

2040: As no NWO countries remained—the USA switched sides, China and the Sovet Union were in a civil war, India signed an armistice and North Korea, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Hungary and Cuba capitulated—the GDF met up in neutral Riyadh to discuss the post-war world. There, they signed the treaty of Riyadh, ending the largest war in human history.

North America
The North American Economic Sphere has gained its first Caribbean member. After long negotiations, Cuba officially joined as the seventh member of the alliance.

Europe
Another flashpoint has arisen between TATO and the Titanium Pact. The United States offered military training for its TATO allies of Scotland and Ireland in early 2054, and shortly after, tensions arose between the United States and England. England condemned the American proposal, seeing it as a threat to English national interests, and Germany has supported this statement. TATO refused to back down however, and the issue remains unresolved.

Africa
While the United States has its African development programme established, China has also joined the race for African influence, starting its own programme. The initiative is openly against Titanium, with China openly stating they want to aid the developments of only African nations that oppose the Titanium Pact or have little relations with them, hoping to prevent fascism from spreading to Africa. Though Beijing has also stated a nations doesn't have to officially align with PSS to join the programme, some TATO-aligned African nations have rejected the proposal, focusing on American aid.

The Middle East
China and Iran have signed a unique deal; while the economic part of their agreement, being an increase of Chinese investment in and ownership of Iranian oil companies, isn't very curious, the defensive part is, as Beijing has stated that if any nation invades Iranian land, this invasion will be seen as an invasion of China due to Chinese economic interests being disrupted.

Asia
A potential new flashpoint for a proxy war is emerging; Myanmar, a nation historically known for instability, is seeing diverse cooperating insurgencies accross the country. While the military-backed government is still stronger than the emerging insurgents and no civil war has started yet, the unrest could potentially escalate rapidly.

Europe
Following the 2053 events of the Kurdish crisis, the micro-cold war between Greece and Turkey has reaced new heights. Both countries have increased military strength, both cooperating with their own blocs. Cyprus remains an unresolved flashpoint.
Russia has opened its civillian robotics industry to the world, mainly offering to sell robots, like the Mr. Handy model, a small simplistic tool robot, to China and the USA. These nations have accepted, and next to those, Siberia, Iran and Indonesia have expressed interest in buying these robots, with Indonesia specifically requesting robots usable in building underwater infrastructure.

Africa
The United States has established a new programme for aid to all independent African nations, intending to support these countries' infrastructure, sanitation, healthcare, education, economic development and defense against violent armed groups. Most nations, with only Algeria and Egypt being major exceptions, have had enthusiastic reactions, with Namibia requesting further closer operations, despite also having agreed to an invitation to join the NAF.
The French invasion of the Congo has come to an end. With the government of the Republic of the Congo having effectively collapsed, the Congoan military and organised resistance have too, with France being able to annex the land into their existing colony in Gabon.

The Middle East
After years of conflict, the Kurdish crisis has reached its final phase. While Kurdistan was still standing in early 2053, even reaching out for American aid, developments such as the USA refusing to send this aid have caused Turkey to gain the upper hand. At the end of the year, Turkey announced its official annexation of Kurdistan, while declaring strict rules for remaining armed forces and insurgencies, even threatening with collective punishment against civillians if Turkish officers get killed. One positive major development for Kurds in the Middle East is that Iran has established a regional Kurdish Council, granting more autonomy to the Kurds in Iranian territory, as long as leftists stay in power.

Asia
Following a secret meeting in Indonesia, the NAF has announced expansion plans. While officially granting Jamaica membership, it has invited Namibia, Bolivia, Jordan and Papua New Guinea to also join the organisation. These countries have all accepted and are in negotiations. Notably, Iraqi membership was also discussed in the meeting, and a suspension of Iraq from the NAF for violation of neutrality was rejected.

The Moon
INSA, the International Neutral Space Agency, the new space agency of the Non-Aligned Forum, has been officially established. Its original goal was to establish a lunar base by 2055, but due to delayments in negotiations slowing operations down, this has been moved to more likely 2056 or 2057.
Greece has also expanded its space program, with the help of the United States, with a lunar base being expected between 2062 and 2066.

Mars
The Space Race is slowly reigniting, as the United States has announced a major upgrade for the Martian base New Horizon. While the Chinese Hongxing Base remains the largest base on Mars, New Horizon might catch up in the following years.

North America
The relatively new economic giant in North America, the NAES, is already starting to grow. Delegation from the United States proposed formally inviting Cuba to join NAES in early 2052, and after negotiations during the year, Cuba is likely to join the sphere somewhere during 2053.

Europe
Large movements were visible in and around Greece in 2052. Next to elections being held resulting in the conservatives losing their majority, the Greek government announced many different national programs, ranging from anti-corruption laws to modernisation of health services. Next to this, Greece has proposed, with the support of the rest of the alliance, that Kazakhstan may become an observer state of the EMTB. This is an interesting development, as it could either turn the EMTB into the bridge between TATO-PSS cooperation against the Titanium Pact, or drive the two blocs apart due to PSS seeing this as TATO attempting to steal their member. Neither Kazakhstan or PSS has responded to the proposal.

Africa
The French invasion of the Congo is nearing its end, with most of the Congoan territory being under French colonial control. Sanctions against France are still active, and it remains unknown if these will end after the Congo's likely inevitable surrender.

The Middle East
The position of the Titanium Pact in the Middle East has also strengthened, with Turkey being likely to win the war in Kurdistan. The frontlines moved significantly into the Kurdish north after Kurdish forces saw a large decrease in supplies. This was because Iran negotiated a peace treaty with Turkey, wanting to focus on rebuilding its own country after the civil war from a few years prior. Iran acknowledged Turkish claims on Kurdistan while also withdrawing troops and supplies, while Turkey agreed to repay some damages to Iran. Because of this movement, Kurdistan has also become diplomatically isolated. Kurdistan has requested peace negotiations, with Azerbaijan offering to hold these negotiations, but Turkey has declined, only accepting unconditional surrender.

North America
A new large economic bloc has formed, the North American Economic Sphere (NAES). This alliance consists of the United States (the country that initially proposed it), Canada, Mexico, Central America and Panama, with the HQ being in Panama City.

Europe
Greece, Montenegro and Israel have established the Eastern Mediterranean Trade Bloc, an organisation dedicated to growing trade in the region. The organisation has also collectively announced sanctions against France.

Africa
The war in the Republic of the Congo has moved quickly. Though TATO, the PSS and the NAF have all announced sanctions against France, France's strong military proved successful in conquering over half of the Congoan territory within a year, including Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire. France has already started establishment of a colonial administration.

The Middle East
Iran, next to its war with Turkey, has started facing internal problems as well. As it struggles to rebuild after the civil war that ended in 2050, the new Iranian leader Soraya Vahidpour took power in a time where her new position faced many burdens.
International countries are more and more regularly calling for mediation in the Kurdish crisis, with China calling for restraint on both sides, the United States proposing a peacekeeping force in the region and Indonesia requesting a role in future negotiations.
Sistan, having been independent for two years now, has figured out its political situation. Though PSS and TATO both wanted Sistan in their bloc due to its strategic position, Sistan announced it would create a neutral presidential republic after armed forces leave their position of power, considering joining the NAF as a possibility.

Asia
Siberia and Central Asia are moving closer to PSS, As both Russia and China are proposing more economic integration programs with Siberian and Central Asian nations.

North America
The United States, under the left-populist president Harold Norton, has seen a notable increase in funding for its Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), starting with the Safetycare Act. The CIA and FBI say this budget increase has let them dismantle several foreign intelligence networks, but this has not been confirmed.
Cooperation between TATO and PSS has strengthened after a convention in New Orleans between, among others, the USA and China. The Titanium Pact has criticized the convention, with English representatives calling it a global military framework against sovereign nationalist states.
North American cooperation has also grown in 2050. The New Orleans Convention has made Canada, the USA and Mexico grow closer together, while the USA has also moved for an open border agreement with Cuba. The Bahamas has also started negotiations with the USA for eventual TATO membership, and Haiti and the Dominican Republic have also aligned closer to the USA, with those three nations all joining the TATO sphere. The most important development here was negotiations regarding the North American Economic Sphere, an alliance in the making, existing of all non-colonial North American nations.

South America
Though Brazil's recent infrastructure plans were promising, the tensions in South America has caused light economic stagnation. Economists warn that even if no war occurs, the military focus in mainly Brazil and Argentina could weaken South America's global position.

Europe
As a response to the New Orleans convention, England has started a policy of pursuing economic self-reliance, especially on military-related sectors.
France has also upscaled (military) economics, producing more uranium, modernising ports in both the motherland and the colonies, and producing brand new France-class frigates.
A second weak point in the Titanium Pact has emerged. The Hungarian situation has not moved much in 2050, but in late 2050, a small tense situation emerged over Gibraltar. England, being the sovereign nation in control of Gibraltar, has increased defense in the region, which Spain saw as a negative development, with their ally militarising their border.

Africa
Right before the new year, France announced an invasion of the Republic of the Congo. The United States responded rapidly, with high tariffs on French goods.

The Middle East
The war in Kurdistan has escalated into a full international crisis, being the largest global flashpoint since the Chinese invasion of Taiwan in 2035. The crisis has especially escalated due to Iranian involvement, including independent involvement from Kurds in Iran. The battle of Erbil, the Kurdish capital, has been ongoing for a year now; while Turkey initially rapidly swept through the Kurdish Northwest, not much notable land was conquered in 2050. This is mostly due to the large international support for Kurdistan, such as from the United States. After Turkey declared war on Iran due to Iran declining a Turkish ultimatum, China and Germany have also interfered, with both nations being prepared to use their nuclear arsenal to support their preferred side in the war.
The Kurdish crisis has also caused a rupture within the Non-Aligned Forum; Indonesia officially moved for severe punishments for Iraq for compromising neutrality, as Iraq supported Turkey in hopes of regaining lost Kurdish territory. Most NAF members generally supported the movement, though only half supported potentially expelling Iraq from the organisation.
A new mediator in the Kurdish crisis has emerged, the Board of Protection of Trade and Goods (BPTD), an organisation consisting of the United States, China, Iran, Georgia, Armenia, Circassia, Dagestan, Abkhazia and Kabardino-Balkaria, dedicated to preventing loss of trade due to crisis like the Kurdish one.

Asia
Socialism continues to grow in Siberia. Cooperation between China and Russia and the Siberian Economic Community has increased, and elections in Yakutsk have resulted in a more PSS/China-aligned government that could potentially join PSS in the near future. China has also signed open border agreements with Buryatia, Altai and Yakutsk.
India and England have together established the Global Trade Initiative, an organisation dedicated to coordinating global trade and supporting developing countries' merchant fleets. Some countries however have concerns regarding potential English influence and control over global shipping lanes through the GTI.
Russia has proposed an Asian framework where Russia provides military defense to nations in Central Asia, the Caucasus and Siberia. Most Siberian nations had positive reactions to the plan, but Central Asia and the Caucasus were more divided; in Central Asia, mainly Turkmenistan was against the proposal due to its strict neutrality, and all neutral states in the Caucasus also preferred to keep their neutrality.

The Moon
A new player has entered the global space race, as the Non-Aligned Forum has announced the creation of INSA, the International Neutral Space Agency. While not having a permanent base on the moon yet, INSA aims to do so by 2055.
The first interstate border on the moon has become a reality; a multiple-hundred kilometre-long border has been established between the American Armstrong base and the German Einsteinstadt. The two nations have stated the colonies are not competing for territory, with the border being only for logistical purposes.

The World
Ten years after the end of the Third World War, the world once again finds itself facing the biggest global tensions since the 2030s. Three rival blocs, the American-led Trans-Atlantic Treaty Organisation (TATO), the Chinese-led Pact of Socialist States (PSS) and the German-led Titanium Pact, dominate international politics, with the Non-Aligned Forum desperately tring to ease tensions and prevent escalations. While direct conflict has been avoided, proxy wars, espionage, sanctions and military buildups have clearly not, creating a geopolitical climate of distrust.

North America
Recent European colonial expansions have awakened defense plans in remaining Caribbean nations. While Puerto Rico remains protected as an American colony and Cuba enjoys protecton from TATO, fear of German, French or British invasion exists in Jamaica, Haiti, the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas. Jamaica is seeking NAF-membership and through it an alliance with a then friendlier Mexico, and the Bahamas are trying to align themselves closer to the USA to join the TATO sphere, mainly Haiti and the Dominican Republic fear for survival.

South America
With Argentina officially adapting the European style-fascist ideology, a military buildup has started in South America. While Uruguay remains a mediator in the escalating relations between Argentina and Brazil, both nations are preparing for a potential conflict. While South American TATO nations are superior on paper, German support for Argentina with advisers and equipment could make a war long and bloody.

Europe
Fascism is on the rise in the remaining European democracies. This is a problem for TATO, which wants to spread democracy in Europe to return to a mainly democratic Europe like before WWIII. Because of this, TATO and the AEC have increased funding for institutions with the same goal to strengthen remaining democracies.
The situation in Cyprus has only escalated since the Turkish annexation of Northern Cyprus in 2043, with both Turkey and Greece refusing to back down. Titanium strongly supports Turkey and pressures it to stand ground, fearing that if Turkey leaves Cyprus, the TATO-aligned Cypriot government will strengthen ties with Greece further and join the TATO sphere.
Titanium isn't fully united; while Hungary participated in the partition of Romania in 2047, it still wants expansion into Romania, desiring a full annexation of Transylvania. Some radicals in the country are even suggesting annexations of Slovakia, Carpathia, Vojvodina and even Croatia, to form Greater Hungary. This has pushed Hungary towards an isolated position within the Titanium Pact, due to Hungary's smaller neighbours disliking Hungary while Germany doesn't support Hungary's claims.
Montenegro has become a flashpoint in TATO-Titanium tensions. After Montenegro expressed its interest in joining the AEC, Titanium threatened with blockades of the Adriatic sea if this plan went through. TATO responded with a militarisation of Corfu and an increase of Greek naval presence in the strait of Otranto.

Africa
After the return of European colonialism in Africa, the African Union shifted slightly from integration of socio-economic programs towards collective defense angainst colonialist aggression. Mainly nations around French Gabon and English Angola are seeing defensive operations being set up not on behalf of those nations, but of the African Union.
As the African Union still has integration as one of its main goals, the WAU has started negotiations with Cameroon and the Central African Republic to join this Francophone African superstate. Non-francophone nations such as Nigeria, Mauritania and Darfur have stated they do not see joining the WAU as a likely possibility in the near future. The EAC has started negotiations with Ethiopia, but this union is likely not happening soon.

The Middle East
The war between Turkey and Kurdistan has become the main global attention point. With Turkish troops nearing the Kurdish capital of Erbil, the war seems to be in Turkish favour, but support for Kurdistan from OCS and TATO through Azerbaijan could turn the tides of the war.
With Iraq compromising its neutrality by supporting Turkey in its invasion, its position within the NAF is fading, with some NAF-members even calling for revoking the Iraqi membership.
Saudi Arabia has started slow, but large-scale production of nuclear weapons, now having five and thereby becoming the world's eleventh nuclear power.

Asia
Yakutsk, the final small Siberian nation not in the PSS, seems likely to democratically transition to socialism soon. The country is already in the PSS sphere and strongly influenced by China, and as Chinese standards of living strongly increased after the socialist revolution took over the country in 2041, socialist parties in countries around China, including Yakutsk, have gained popularity within respective parliaments.
The hybrid regime in the brand new state in Sistan is defining its ideology, with joining either the PSS or NAF seeming equally likely. While joining the PSS and thereby aligning with Iran, the country it just gained independence from, is awkward for Sistan, the provisional government thinks the NAF might not be able to give enough protection from India-Pakistan.

Oceania
The French colony of New Caledonia is being militarised, with relations between the French government and PDG declining. Both sides accuse eachother of military buildup for armed confrontation.

The Moon
After Brazil joined China, the USA, Germany, England, France, Japan and India-Pakistan as the eighth nation with a lunar base, the first signs of conflict have emerged on the Moon. The Japanese Tsukuyomi has failed to join the Chinese transport line from the Red Banner Observatory to Tianhe City due to tensions back on Earth, creating a tense political climate between Japanese and Chinese authorities on the Moon too. Next to this, the territories around the American Armstrong Base and the German Einsteinstadt have almost reached eachother, meaning the first lunar interstate border could soon be established.

Mars
Five countries have reached Mars, two of which, being the USA and China, already having established colonies with territory. The NAF has disapproved of this territorial expansion on Mars, saying Mars, being outside of the planetary system of the Earth, should keep only having scientific bases and remain without territorial claims.
