Knights of Hanover (WIP)
The Rokatovian monarchy held sway over German territories for over a century, a consequence of the end of the German Civil War. It remained unshaken ever since, serving as a model state in Europe for decades, recognized as a bastion of democracy and prosperity. Stability was relatively high throughout the years, with support for the high government and the effectiveness of the Rokatovian Senate being plausible. The Rokatovian royal family also enjoyed good relations with the population and the Rokatovian government, which was influenced and somewhat controlled by them, since the king and queen still held considerable power within the government sectors, mainly in the Executive and Legislative branches. However, such powers could only be accessed during a state of siege and in times of crisis. The same royal family was also well regarded for the intelligence of its heirs, who were intelligent and non-authoritarian leaders, with a good chance of governing with few scandals or crises, a fact that was quite evident in the reigns of Alexander I and, until then, in the reign of Wilhelm von Friedrich. However, empires tend to decline over time, and Rokatov's would be no different.
The Rokatovian Senate proved to be a rather ambitious and corrupt organization within the Rokatovian government, enacting laws to increase its power and size over the years. This did not go unnoticed by the Rokatovian royal family and other sectors of society, who began to criticize them for their actions, which were considered "A Self-Threatening State." The Senate's responses, especially against the royal family, increased tensions between the two groups, with senators constantly calling the monarchical system "an old system governed by old people."
However, things would worsen under the reign of Wilhelm von Friedrich, 21 years after the death of his father, Alexander I. The King was paranoid, constantly needing the support of his wife, Queen Calypso Hohenzollern, as his main supporter in difficult times. Something that also stabilized him was his two children, Prince Elissius Von Kottman and Elysa Hoherzollern, 19-year-old twins.
Elissius Von Kottman was very similar to his father, sharing several similar characteristics, but one of the main differences between the two was their blue eyes and the lack of a scar near their right eye. Elissius's personality was also different from his father's, being less paranoid and having less of a desire to rule.
Elysa Hoherzollern resembled her mother more, inheriting her genetics with blonder, straighter hair and brown eyes. She was also slightly shorter than her brother. Unlike her brother, she wanted to rule and become a leader like her father.
The world had finally entered a new era of peace and prosperity, beginning a time of positivism and technological improvements for the people. Treaties such as the Nuclear Weapons Ban Act were signed, with global tensions decreasing and governments reaching agreements instead of battling on the ideological and geopolitical front.
Several improvements, mainly in education and medicine, were seen. Now that weapons were not so important, great scientific advances were finally made, such as the eradication of certain dangerous diseases like malaria and rabies.
The results of this era of peace were quite evident, as governments of various classifications, especially in previously unstable regions, were able to develop. There were still minor conflicts in specific regions. With the reform of the United Nations, it became much more 'useful' and managed to fulfill several of its promises of world peace, even if only as an armistice of a few years.
