Refugee's Premise

The year is 2093, the Sol System as its inhabitants call it has been blessed with an unusually rare gift among the various systems and stars of the cosmos, two earth-like planets, a brother and sister you could call it. The older and bigger brother, "Earth", the birthplace of humanity, one of the largest and most advanced civilizations in the known universe, and the younger and smaller sister, home of Griffenkind, the species that could fly through the skies of its thin atmosphere. Earth due to its larger size, provided better conditions for life and more resources that could be used for the development and acquirement of technology was always the more advanced of the two civilizations. and For almost 300,000 years of their modern histories, they have been separated by a vast "ocean", even when both societies gained their stellar wings contact and relations were fleeting. The Griffen Race was a curious one, there people showed little differences from each other besides linguistic and cultural ones as they spread across the planet.

This is mostly due to the uniformity of Martian climate, this allowed the Empire of the Herzikland to begin its massive spree of conquest that would see over 80% of Mars united under one grand empire during what is known in Griffen History as the "The Golden Millennias", however by the year 2000 nationalism among local cultures and identity tore the empire apart and forced the Herzikaninlanzers to abandon there dream of one united pan griffenic state across mars as they retreated to the core imperial territories. This chaos would forever put the Griffen nations behind humanity as wars broke out across the planets, some lasting decades as newly independent nations and polities fought over land and resources. However, life seemingly improved far beyond Griffen technology on Earth. Silent monsters were waiting in the shadows ready to strike at humanity, ones of their own creation. Ever since the second industrial revolution humanity had begun a rapid spree of industrial and societal development, the consequences of this would be the total and unrelenting consumption of earth's natural resources. Absolutely nothing could stop man's thirst for more fuel and more resources, the environment was, therefore, a sacrificial lamb.

Ilinafix was a fast-acting chemical that could completely halt erosion completely and forever on a wide range of products, from electronics to steel. This new chemical basically meant that nothing could go bad and that anything not used could simply be recycled. As the world celebrated a possible solution to their woes it was there that the second silent monster would strike, unknown to the United States Army Chemical Corps, or any of the other international and global corporations that pounced on the idea and began its mass production it, its composition held a fatal side effect. A delayed onset neurotoxin, also known as Neuroferin. Just thirty years after its inception people begin to show signs of lack of coordination, confusion, memory loss, and in the worst case seizures and brain death. As deaths began into the 2080s it would end up one of the deadliest plagues in human history, killing over 35 of the world's population by 2090.


What would do humanity was however the rather innocent project of a team of Romanian researchers, in the days since the unification of Europe in 2049. Romania would become an unlikely base of technological development. Victor Cherniv and his elite teams of scientists would be assigned to work on a decades-long anti-matter project that ventured to create a viable and long-term anti-matter reactor that could power the majority of Europe and even possibly fuel human space development if they could be ever downsized. When this development finally came in 2082, The People's Republic of East Asia, formally China stole the plans for the anti-matter reactor and created their own "Anti Matter Bomb", which used anti-matter particles to create explosions that could reach well over 100,000 megatons. The North American Union in response began making their own, followed by the Federation of Europe and the Union State of Eurasia. As the amount of anti-matter bombs reached well over 1,000, china sought to use its advantage in the total amount of weaponry and began an invasion of South Korea in 2089, this led to the beginning of the Fifth and Final World War, a failed invasion of the North American Union through Alaska and Mexico, the obliteration of its Eurasian Ally by the joint European-American Advance, and the fall of the northern half of the Korean Peninsula, Taiwan, Hong Kong and the Peral River Basin, the southern half of Vietnam and Hianan, along with mounting losses on the lunar front encouraged China to take the nuclear option. Anti-mattering bombing the moon, destroying it in a large-scale matter exchange.

This forced humanity to finally evacuate earth as a report by the North American Union's "NASA" stated that the destruction of the moon also likely meant the destruction of Earth. Where would humanity evacuate to? To mars, the only remaining planet that was suitable for life in the solar system.

Rules:

1. This RP is a light future tech and heavy fantasy RP.

2. All nations are required to maintain an overview factbook depicting their flag, government structure, population, military manpower, and GDP.

3. No god-modding of any kind or sort, this includes the development of unrealistic or unfair technologies within the RP. Ideally, all technologies should avoid anything theoretical to the point of unpredictability. [

4. Weapons of Mass Destruction will be allowed, however, they must be treated as weapons that are hard to produce, scarce and only used in situations where it is upmost necessary. Posts that seem to be spamming WMDs or misusing them will be voided. Additionally all WMDs should follow rule 2.

5. All nations that are created must follow 2 key lore points, they are either native to Mars griffons or nonnative refugee nations.

6. Nations that did not wish to participate in future tech can compromise with RP staff on a deal to augment their nation with fantasy or elements that will keep them competitive and functional in the RP.

7. All wars initiated must have a valid cause beli. A valid cause beli will be defined as a reason for war that is considered rational, all cause beli must be run through RP staff.

8. Nations may create characters, these characters are immune from deathly injury unless the player brings them into a situation where their death would absolutely certain.

9. Starting Technology, the following list of series in which technology can be declared roughly equivalent to: (Minus space tech)

   This is not the end-all-be-all list, all nations are encouraged to be creative in the development of there technologies.

10. Creativity and Originality are expected. while it is okay to borrow from concepts your nation should not literally just be "The US On Mars" or something of the equivalent.

11. Nations that leave or become inactive within RP will be turned into NPCs run by RP officials.

12. Earth map rules are: Colonization posts must at least have 2 years (or 2 weeks) of detailed roleplay behind them, and initial colonies should not excede the size of the US state of Wyoming and a population of 5,000. You must rp the effects of all negative debuffs on earth mentioned during the synopsis

13. Characters do not age at the same time as the overarching RP calendar for logistical reasons, and RPs may be conducted in the past so long as there are disclaimers for any viewers of the works.

14. Any RP or RP plans conducted on Discord will not be considered legal RP under any circumstances, and cannot provoke IC RP responses. RP posts must be clear, accessible posts in context and in character that is written on NS's Centauran Federation RMB.
