The Paths in Eruditio are community-side factions that every citizen, or "Scholar," is assigned to upon joining the region. These Paths serve as a fun and engaging way to foster camaraderie and friendly competition within the community. Every two months, the regional government hosts a bi-monthly competition where members of the different Paths compete to earn points.

Points are awarded for participating in a variety of community activities, such as answering the Question of the Day (QoTD), joining cultural events, contributing to discussions, and engaging in other regional activities. The competition is designed to encourage active participation and to strengthen the bonds between members, all while promoting the region's vibrant culture.

At the end of each competition cycle, the Path with the most points is celebrated as the winner, earning recognition and possibly other rewards within the community. The Paths not only add an extra layer of involvement and excitement but also help to create a more dynamic and interactive environment for all Erudites.

THE PATHMASTERS
‎ ‎

Pathmasters are the appointed overseers of Eruditio’s Paths system, selected by the region's Precursors for their dedication and organizational abilities. Unlike Emanators, Pathmasters are not elected by Path members and can be chosen from outside the current Emanator pool. Their position is permanent unless they choose to resign or are otherwise replaced by the Precursors.

Pathmasters are responsible for the overall management of the Paths system, handling logistics such as point calculations, determining the value of quests and actions, and overseeing the fairness of the bi-monthly competitions. They ensure that the system operates smoothly, balancing the challenges and rewards to maintain a competitive yet enjoyable experience for all participants.

In addition to their role in competitions, Pathmasters act as moderators and guides for the Emanators and Path members, providing support and making adjustments to keep the system engaging and balanced. Their leadership is crucial in maintaining the integrity of the Paths and ensuring that every member has the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to their Path’s success.

THE EMANATORS
‎ ‎

Emanators are the elected leaders of each Path within Eruditio. These individuals are chosen by the members of their respective Paths to represent them and lead their faction during the bi-monthly competitions. Emanators play a crucial role in motivating and organizing their Path members, helping to coordinate participation in various community activities and events.

As the head of their Path, Emanators are responsible for rallying their team, strategizing ways to earn points, and fostering a strong sense of community and teamwork among their members. They also act as the voice of their Path in any discussions or decisions related to the competitions, ensuring that their Path’s interests are represented.

Emanators serve for a specific term, after which new elections are held, allowing other members the opportunity to step into leadership roles. This system ensures that the Paths remain dynamic and that leadership can evolve with fresh ideas and enthusiasm.

GENERAL SYSTEM
‎ ‎

  1. There are 4 Paths, each operating under an independent system determined by its members.

  2. Leaders, known as Emanators, are elected by the members of their respective Path through an internal vote.

  3. If a Path is unable to elect an Emanator, Pathmasters will temporarily appoint one to ensure continuity.

  4. Pathmasters oversee the overall management of the Paths system, including assigning and deducting points, and compiling necessary data.

  5. They can designate specific activities or areas for a points boost to encourage increased participation. For example, if greater involvement in government activities is desired, those activities may be awarded additional points.

POINTS AND RECOGNITION
‎ ‎

  1. Points are awarded for participating in community events, Path-specific challenges, and activity and recruitment challenges. Each type of activity has a designated point value based on its complexity and impact.

  2. During special events or competitions, temporary point modifiers may be applied. These can increase the value of certain activities or quests for a limited time to align with the event's objectives.

  3. Points are awarded for attending and participating in official events, such as community gatherings, role-playing sessions, or special themed challenges.

  4. Successful recruitment of new members to the Path or the region can earn points. Points are typically awarded based on the number of recruits and their engagement levels.

  5. Paths can collaborate on joint projects or challenges. For example, co-authoring lore or participating in joint events allows multiple Paths to earn points collectively.

  6. Pathmasters maintain a real-time tally of points earned by each Path. Members can view their contributions and the overall standings through a transparent tracking system. Points are updated regularly, with a comprehensive review at the end of each bi-monthly period. This ensures that the standings reflect the most current activity and engagement levels.

  7. At the end of each bi-monthly period, the Path with the highest points is recognized as the leading Path of the region. This Path is prominently featured on the World Factbook Entry (WFE) and may influence the region’s overall appearance.

  8. Outstanding individual contributors are also acknowledged, with their points and achievements highlighted. This encourages personal engagement and rewards exceptional contributions.

MEMBERSHIP AND GETTING INVOLVED
‎ ‎

  1. To be eligible for membership, individuals must meet basic criteria, such as being an active participant in the community and adhering to the region’s rules and guidelines.

  2. After completing the orientation, new members are assigned to a Path based on the randomized selection process or their expressed preferences, if applicable. They receive access to the relevant Path’s channels and resources on the Discord server.
