The Regional Bacterial Space Station - an Overview

Regional Bacterial Space Station

The Regional Bacterial Space Program brings together international flight crews, regionally distributed launch and flight operations, training, engineering, and development facilities, communications networks, and the scientific research community.

Overview

The Regional Bacterial Space Station---RBSS---was officially proposed by King Ethan and a budget was finally approved by the Council of Bacterium members Callisto Hadrian of the USAI, Queen Fringillidae of Enerance, and King Ethan of Iujhj.

The Station was designed through the March of 2023 to May of 2024. Elements of the Station were in construction throughout Enerance, the USAI, Iujhj, and all other participating nations, which includes the entirety of the SoL nations.

In March of 2024, as the Station was undergoing design, the Happy Place That is Good were invited to participate, provided they develop and research technologies to support this unprecedented project in scientific, social, and technological advancement. They have since been accepted as a partner in this international project.

The RBSS was to proceed in two phases. During the first phase, USAI space shuttles would carry astronauts to the Iujhjish Orbital Station---the IOS. Enerance, Iujhj, and the USAI would help to fabricate habitat modules, laboratories, and other components. Establishing working processes between the participating nations was crucial to ensure the project would be completed. During Phase 2, each contributing nation would launch the prefabricated modules into space, where they would be assembled by an AI developed between Iujhj and the USAI and other advanced robotic systems, and subsequently inhabited by crew members once completed.

Phase 1
Phase 1, which began on March 10th, 2023, was successfully completed a year later . Thirteen space shuttle launches were carried out to the IOS, with the last ten docking astronauts to the station. Two Arnerian-Irpan modules, Brilliance and Power, were launched and integrated into the IOS. These modules housed essential materials, supplies, and small prefabricated units for the RBSS, as well as accommodations for six crew members.

Phase 2
Phase 2, which began on May 8th, 2024, was successfully completed on June 17th, 2024. The construction of the RBSS required a total of 26 rocket launches. Additional launches are planned to be conducted to expand the capabilities of the RBSS.

Cooperation

The 4 primary partner agencies, the Arnerian-Irpan Space Administration (AISA), the Enerancean National Space League (ENSL), the Iujhjish Space Association (ISA), and National Space Corps of Happy Place That Is Good (NSCHPTIG) all operate the RBSS. The station was designed from the outset to be interdependent and relies on contributions from across the partnership to function. The RBSS is the unique blend of unified and diversified goals among the Region's space agencies that will lead to improvements in life in the Region the people of all its nations.

While the various space agency partners may emphasize different aspects of research to achieve their goals in the use of the RBSS, they are unified in an important overarching goal.

All of the agencies are unified in their goals to apply knowledge gained through the RBSS for the good of all.
Be this research in radiation, materials science, engineering, biology, physics, or technology. And through advancing our knowledge in the areas of human physiology and biology translating that knowledge to health, socioeconomic, and environmental benefits on humanity in the world and in our Region.

Thus, benefiting the Region and humanity is the absolute goal of the agencies.
The RBSS program’s greatest accomplishment is as much a human achievement as a technological one. The global partnership of space agencies exemplifies valuing cultural differences and political intricacies to plan, coordinate, provide, and operate the complex elements of the RBSS.
