“No immediate policy on Throngism”, Minister says

SĀRRUC, 29 December 2023 | There will be no immediate policy on Throngism, Public Security Minister Gwzorī Tī̦stely has said after questions were asked in Parliament during the last session before the New Year’s recess, whether or not the Government is going to take measures against the controversial ideology, following the adoption of the notorious Resolution nr. 30 that the League of The Western Isles adopted earlier this week.

“The Dominion of Nhoor has no longer recognised the Throngist regime in Lesva as the legitimate government of Lesva since August, instead recognising the Presidential Republic in exile”, she said. “From the Government’s point of view, no further steps are required on a diplomatic level, unless we are invited to do so, in which case we will deliberate the possibilities. We have no interest in taking active measures to remove said regime, although we will of course keep in touch with our partners in the Raedlon Organization of States to see if they care to take any joint stance in this matter.

“There remains the factor of Throngism itself”, the Minister continued. “As you know, a Throngist Party of Nhoor has been founded earlier this year, which has advocated a closer relationship with Lesva; the Throngist regime of it, that is. Currently there is no majority in the Government in favour of acting on such requests, which would be completely contradictory to our aforementioned active policy.

“There have been questions why the Government hasn’t forbidden Throngist movements in Nhoor yet. This is simply because the Government doesn’t want to take any preemptive measures awaiting a verdict by the Council of High Judges on the question if the Throngist movement at hand, the Throngist Party of Nhoor that I already mentioned – the only significant Throngist movement in Nhoor, I may add – responds to the requirements of being a political party and if it poses a threat to public security and to Nhoor’s way of life itself. This verdict is expected in February, so I bid you to have patience until then”, Minister Tī̦stely concluded.

Sa̦ba Gērgerōdy, leader of the Throngist Party of Nhoor SCNh, earlier called the adoption of Resolution nr. 30 by the League ‘a slap in the face of democracy’. “We now see the violence inherent in the system; it is clear that Throngists worldwide are being repressed!”

“Gērgerōdy must be blind to ignore how violent Throngists are in other nations”, Arcod Nhestarāzy, leader of Parliament’s largest party, the socialdemocrat COJ, commented. “I hope the Council of High Judges will give us a verdict with which we will be able to work!”

“We see a first ever opportunity to unite Raedlon”, Minister says

SĀRRUC, 27 December 2023 | Minister of Foreign Affairs Acāver Jā̦ has hailed a recent announcement of Nhoor’s neighbour to the north, The Republic of Vadrana, to hold a referendum to decide if that country should join the Raedlon Organization of States (ROS). With the referendum scheduled within a week from now, more clarity on the opinion of the Vadranan people is expected soon.

“Raedlon has never been this close to such a close unity encompassing the entire island of Raedlon”, Jā̦ said. He warned however that ROS’s own procedural slowness may act as a catalyst for disappointment and desillusionment among the prospective member states, which also include The Kingdom of Takiv and the nation of The United Peoples of Skilles. Jā̦ emphasised the importance of presenting the potential future member states with a clear time schedule of accession, should these nations submit formal requests to join.

“When each of these nations agrees internally that joining ROS is the best way to proceed, and if they match the conditions for membership as mentioned in Chapter 2 of the Treaty of Sārruc, they need to submit a letter to the Secretary General of ROS, currently Arti Sirel of Solaryia. The Secretary General then informs the Council of Representatives; normally they convene every year around October, but I’m sure that an extraordinary meeting can be called sooner if there are several membership requests at once to be discussed. If the Council agrees, the applicant nation will receive the status of Candidate Member for the duration of six to twelve months”, Jā̦ explained. “So the procedure itself takes time already; we don’t need ROS and its current members to delay them even more, or the potential member states will lose interest.”

In other news from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs it was announced that a number of ambassadors appointed in 2020 will be replaced as per 1 January 2024. These include Ms Orhanī Heluva Mwr, currently the ambassador to Domanania who will move to Roendavar instead; the ambassador to Roendavar, Mr Mharda Bachusyte̦ly, has been assigned to Takiv; the ambassador to Wellsia, Ms Gwzorī Twr Tarcws, will move to Skilles, while the new ambassador to Wellsia will be Mr Eba Bāsyt. The ambassador to San Montagna, Mr Rhoja̦d Nhalu̦ches, will be replaced by Mr O̦zured Wrduqh, while Mr Nhalu̦ches moves to Vadrana. The Vadranan foreign office announced the appointment of Mr Valeri Bukia as ambassador to Nhoor; Skilles has appointed Mr William Lake.

Regarding Resolution nr. 30 that was adopted by The League of The Western Isles earlier this week, Minister Jā̦ reminded that last August, Nhoor has already started to recognise the Lesvan Presidential Republic in exile as the only legitimate government of Lesva. Resolution nr. 30 provides however a legal base that will allow the government of Nhoor to exchange more intensive diplomatic relations with the LPR, if the latter so wishes.

Parliament limits royal succession

SĀRRUC, 25 December 2023 | In the first such a move in many decades, Parliament has revised the line of succession to the throne of Nhoor, limiting it to descendants of Queen Elerhī (1842 – 1902), granddaughter of King Urhod II and wife of the Havallandic King Maximus IV, who are not the ruling monarch or the first, second, or third in line of the throne of Havalland.

The move not only means that King Elerha’s twin brother King Leon III of Havalland, his son Prince Arthur, brother Prince Jacob, and sister Princess Elizabeth are henceforward excluded from the throne of Nhoor, but also that any descendants of Princess Calavī (1856 – 1923), daughter of Elerhī’s oldest sister Princess Anhī and sister to former Kings Armhad III and Urhod IV, cannot lay any claims on the throne of Nhoor anymore. The exclusion of Prince Jacob and Princess Elizabeth can be temporary by the way, if King Leon III and Queen Magdalena have more children; in that case Prince Jacob and Princess Elizabeth won’t be second or third in line to the throne of Havalland anymore.

Princess Calavī, who is related to the House of Mgar, the royal family of a former nation in The Western Isles, actively positioned herself as pretender to that throne; her brother King Armhad III was opposed to this move and already excluded her and her descendants from the Nhoor succession by Royal Decree in 1912; Parliament has now indirectly confirmed this decree.

The line of descendants of King Urhod IV already died out in 2017, when king Armhad V died childless. King Elerha Maximus, a distant relative, was elected to succeed him in 2020.

Parliament has not made a decision about the status of women in the line of succession: currently brothers precede sisters, but daughters precede brothers. The line of succession to the throne of Nhoor is therefore currently the King’s three children: 1. Prince Acāver, 2. his younger brother Prince Hīmīcla, 3. their older sister Princess Mārī-Anhī. Should Prince Jacob re-enter the line of succession, Princess Mārī-Anhī will still precede him.

Raedlon nations united in League vote

SĀRRUC, 27 November 2023 | The League of TWI has elected a Deputy Secretary General. While this is not the most noteworthy event emanating from the League, note was taken in Nhoor by the fact that all voting nations on continental Raedlon supported the candidate from The Kingdom of Takiv, Mr Bazav Lokuj, the former Speaker of his country’s General Assembly. Despite the fact that the eventual winning candidate, Ms Grace Bosley, an ambassador from Great Altera, had a more distinguished resume and is better known internationally, the three delegations from Belantica, Nhoor, and Solaryia all voted for Mr Lokuj, in a move that could be interpreted as a gesture from those countries as a response to Takiv’s recent interest in the Raedlon Organization of States (ROS).

“I don’t think the ROS nations have ever presented themselves as united as they did in this case”, a spokesperson of the centre right party Citizens’ Initiative (Vastona jan Miruchea̦j, VM) said. “I am not even sure if it is a coincidence or if the member states arranged this before the vote.”

“If the ROS members were as agreed on more important issues than the Deputy Secretary General of the League, the organisation would make a lot more sense!” Sordws Debeqen, leader of the conservative and ROS-sceptic Party of Agrarians and Fishermen (Cwstana qo Curhisorhanoqo s Jo̦qhuroqo, CCJ) commented.

The vote on the Secretary General of the League a couple of weeks ago was more divided, with Belantica voting for Mr Samson from Biaten, who eventually won the election, Nhoor for Prime Minister Gorlazh of Bavarno, and the other nations of continental Raedlon abstaining. None of the nations on Raedlon however voted in favour of the recent Lesvan resolution to accept Throngism as a normal political ideology.

Political analyst Ɵriƨytus Bīcela̦ch is not ready yet to accept progress in ROS’s diplomatic integration. “The reason for the current unanimity could simply be that there was a candidate from Raedlon, while this was not the case with previous votes. As for the Lesvan resolution, it may be clear that no democratic nation would have supported it, no matter on which continent they are located.”

Minister hails Takiv’s move towards joining ROS

SĀRRUC, 18 November 2023 | Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Acāver Jā̦, has responded positively to news that The Kingdom of Takiv, a nation on Raedlon on Belantica’s western border, is willing to join the Raedlon Organization of States (ROS) and moving to start the procedure to do so. Although Solaryia and Belantica have yet to respond to the Takivaj intentions, Minister Jā̦ thinks that Takiv will make a decent chance to join the organisation.

“The intention of ROS is of course to integrate the nations of Raedlon, create free movement and free trade, so the government of Nhoor welcomes the intentions of Takiv to join ROS”, Jā̦ said. “At the moment there are still several topics to which the Takivaj government will need to provide more clarity, most notably their governance, economy, and military, but we are sure that they will be able to provide this information soon.”

A potential request for ROS membership from Takiv will be an easy one for the ROS member states to process, since the country is located on Raedlon. The discussion however within ROS to expand the scope of ROS and to allow non-Raedlon member states to become member states more easily has not given any concrete result, and with the necessity to change the Treaty of Sārruc, if the ROS member states agree to such a change, it may take some time before it can be implemented.

Nations outside Raedlon that are interested in joining could however become full members before that time, if the current member states are willing to make a special exception. This option is provided by the Treaty of Sārruc, but there is a danger of setting an unwanted precedent that will open the doors to unreasonable membership requests.

Nhoor welcomes lowering of trade tariffs by Oscotia

SĀRRUC, 26 October 2023 | The Nhoor Minister of Trade, Ms Odarvī Phostaqh, has responded positively to the reduction of trade tariffs applicable to Nhoor and other nations on Raedlon that Oscotia announced yesterday. “This move shows that North Oscotia Oscotia is willing and ready for more integration into the region, something that is welcomed by the government of Nhoor”, she said.

Due to Nhoor’s membership of the Raedlon Organization of States (ROS), the Minister said that the government prefers discussing a common return move together with its fellow member states Belantica and Solaryia, rather than acting alone, which could jeopardise the equal levels of competition within the block.

In related news, the government has announced that it intends to review its diplomatic relations with some neighbouring non-ROS nations soon. Also still ongoing is the discussion to accept non-Raedlon nations as full members of ROS more easily, a move which would be supported by the government as it could stimulate regional cooperation.

SCNh asks government to exchange embassies with Lesva

SĀRRUC, 25 October 2023 | Sa̦ba Gērgerōdy, leader of the Throngist Party of Nhoor SCNh, has written an open letter to the government asking for the establishment of more intensive diplomatic relations with The State of Lesva. According to Gērgerōdy, having hardly any relations with Lesva at all is a serious shortcoming in Nhoor’s foreign policy and not establishing mutual embassies would be shortsighted.

“In the light of recent events, both in Nhoor and abroad, and the first responses on the resolution that Lesva has introduced to the League of The Western Isles, it is very obvious that there is a lot of misunderstanding about throngism”, Gērgerōdy explained. “Dialogue must however be maintained, even with less friendly nations; a consulate would be a nice step but Nhoor and Lesva deserve to conduct embassy-level diplomacy.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not commented yet on the SCNh’s request. Currently there is no Nhoor diplomatic staff operating in Lesva or vice versa, and Nhoor citizens advised against travelling to Lesva. The governments of the member states of the Raedlon Organization of States (ROS), Belantica, Nhoor, and Solaryia, are alegedly seeking a common response to international throngism.

Protests after SCNh signs cooperation agreement with Lesvan throngist party

SĀRRUC, 17 October 2023 | An angry crowd gathered in front of Parliament to protest against the Throngist Party of Nhoor and the cooperation agreement it signed this morning with its counterparty in Lesva, the Throngist Movement Party of Lesva. Fearing that a rise of throngism in Nhoor will put an end to democracy and the citizens’ liberties, the protesters called upon the country’s institutions to ban the party’s existence. Police were present to maintain order, but they didn’t need to intervene.

In related news, the Council of High Judges, Nhoor’s constitutional court, has received no less than 141 requests to investigate or outright ban the Throngist Party since the party was founded in August, it reveiled yesterday. Until February, the Council will study each one of them to see if they are admissible, and then combine the ones that are, and reject the ones that aren’t. After this assessment, it will deliberate whether or not the remaining requests should be granted or not.

ROS Council to discuss expansion of the definition of ‘Raedlon’

SĀRRUC, 1 October 2023 | The annual meeting of the Council of Representatives (CoR) of the Raedlon Organization of States (ROS) that is to be held in the Ebwrcus (Pines) Conference Centre near the mountaineous village of Ballo in the province of Capāylenh in Nhoor this Friday and Saturday 6 and 7 October, will seek to expand the criteria for interested nations to acquire full membership. At least two nations not located on Raedlon but in its immediate vicinity have shown interest in joining as a full member state in the past two years, and while article 4.2 of the Treaty of Sārruc foresees in the admission of nations in The Western Isles that are not located on Raedlon, voices in the governments of the three current member states Belantica, Nhoor, and Solaryia are in favour of increasing the greater area of Raedlon that will allow nations that fulfill the other membership criteria to join faster.

“So far ROS has been a minor organisation with only three member states, and with the ever changing regimes in the neighbouring nations on Raedlon, this won’t change if we keep refusing willing and stable member states near, but not on, Raedlon to join”, Minister of Foreign Affairs Acāver Jā̦ comments. “This could mean that ROS will open membership to nearby nations on Argus as well as to countries in an extended part of the Mesder Sea.”

It is not clear yet however whether there will be a strict definition of what will be ‘nearby Raedlon’. In Nhoor, there seems to be some sort of agreement that the nations concerned should ‘border Raedlon by sea’, which means that they should have direct access to Raedlon through the North Mesder Sea, the Mesder Sea, and the Karnali Sea, and possibly the western part of the Argean Sea.

Other subjects of discussion during the CoR meeting may be the elaboration of the Secretariate of Military Affairs, as well as the growing presence of Throngist movements in Raedlon.

SCNh headquarters vandalised

BORVA, 21 September 2023 | The headquarters of the SCNh, the Throngist Party of Nhoor, have been vandalised last night. Unknown criminals broke in and made a mess of the place, throwing furniture around, emptying the content of cupboards, and spraying offensive graffiti on walls leaving no doubt that the perpetrators didn’t like the SCNh existing in Nhoor. The landlady who arrived in the morning to show a couple around in one of the appartments above the SCNh headquarters, immediately called the police.

“This is outrageous!”, SCNh leader Sa̦ba Gērgerōdy commented. “Last time I checked Nhoor still has freedom of speech and the freedom to found political parties, no matter their ideology. I am shocked that some people think that this doesn’t apply to everybody!”

The police issued a statement that street camera images revealed little; from some corners masked persons were vaguely visible but not enough to identify any of them. The investigation is however ongoing and the police have called for eyewitnesses to report themselves. The police didn’t want to confirm or deny that the attack may have anything to do with Throngist plots that were thwarted in Belantica recently, among others to assassinate the Belantican Queen, about which the SCNh has so far made no comments.

Minister of Civil Affairs Conhan Barjwzaqh in a statement has called the act very serious and he too reminded that Nhoor maintains freedom of speech.

Nhoor recognises Lesvan Presidential Republic in exile

SĀRRUC, 25 August 2023 | This morning, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement that the Dominion of Nhoor henceforward recognises the government operating in exile under the banner of the Lesvan Presidential Republic as the only legitimate government of the nation of Lesva. The move comes after recent other similar moves that seem to be aimed at reducing the influence of the Throngist regime that is de facto ruling Lesva at the moment, the foundation of a Throngist Party in Nhoor earlier this month, and after a motion of approval adopted by Nhoor’s parliament yesterday.

The parliament and government have long hesitated to take this step; neighbouring Belantica already cut ties with the Throngist regime and recognised the Presidential Republic instead in June, but many parliamentarians wondered what would be the point of such a move, as the Throngists control the Lesvan territory whereas the Presidential Republic does not, and Nhoor doesn’t maintain diplomatic relations with either side.

Especially the foundation of a Throngist Party (Soroqoch pw Cwstana li Nhōrili, SCNh) and the fact that it looks like to be supported by the Throngist regime, seems to have convinced many parliamentarians to reconsider their opinions. Although Nhoor is not at war with Throngist Lesva, especially right-wing parliamentarians see the SCNh as the overt creation of a fifth column on Nhoor territory. Since the party’s foundation on 4 August, Nhoor’s Council of High Judges (Nhāsɵt tesy Unnō pw Racoseƨ, Nhoor’s Constitutional Court) has already received several requests to ban the party and has introduced 1 October as a deadline to receive similar requests.

Controversial philosopher and leader and founder of the SCNh Sa̦ba Gērgerōdy has condemned the government’s move.

Passengers protest Lake Tenda ferry price increase

AYNWMHERECH, 21 August 2023 | A group of regular passengers using the ferry between the towns of Conho and Aynwmherech on Lake Tenda in the western provinces of Pāla and Sola have united in a committee to protest the announced increase of the ferry price by almost 87% that is supposed to be effective as of September. The group gathered at the Aynwmherech shore today with banners to draw attention to this.

“We are mostly citizens of Conho who work in Aynmherech and the town of Sola”, a spokesman explains. “If we need to pay the increased price every day, it will bite a chunk out of our salaries. That will make living in Conho rather expensive; if people start moving away, it will mean the end of the town.”

“The price hasn’t been increased in more than ten years”, the owner of the ferry company Conho Phose̦d says. “We are already subsidised by the provincial governments of Pāla and Sola to keep this service running; otherwise it would already have been closed 20 years ago.”

Conho is a small town close to the Belantican border that is only reachable by land from the town of Pālarruc via a very narrow and derelict road, which leaves little room for cars, let alone line buses. There is no paved road connecting Conho with Belantica. Although some people work in Conho (apart from small fishing and cattle industries, there are shops that provide employment, as does the medieval Tower of Conho, which is a minor tourist attraction with a view over the lake and a museum), a substantial amount of inhabitants takes the ferry every day to work on the other shore.

“Even if the government decides to improve the road connection so that we can reach the rest of Pāla province more easily, we will not be working in the rest of Pāla province all of a sudden”, the protest committee’s spokesman says. “The ferry is part of our lives and needs to be maintained for a reasonable price.”

Vice-deputy-sub-assistant to the Undersecretary of the Department of Countryside Accessibility of the Ministry of Regional Planning Huqed Mhwrudy confirmed that the situation in Conho is receiving his full attention.

So called ‘geoficticians’ draw giant fake map on square

CINHARDA, 11 August 2023 | People frequenting the pedestrian Urhod II Square in the city of Cinharda raised their eyebrows today when they saw a group of people of various ages draw what looked like a giant map on the square. Upon closer look however, it turned out that this map was not of any real country known to mankind. The group turned out to be members of a so called Club for Geoficticians; people who create fictional nations that they let interact with each other – or not.

“You know that in some books and films the story is situated in a world that is not our own? That is what we do; it’s just fantasy”, one of the group explains. “Mostly those worlds or countries in stories just serve as a background setting, for instance because the writer doesn’t want to insult an existing country or people or just because they want to describe a utopia or a distopia. The members of our club mainly create their countries just for the fun of it, to have a good time role-playing with each other. But there are some who work out stuff in great detail, like political systems, history, football competitions, languages. Some people collect stamps or hunt Glimpusmen or go to Aeteros to parasurvivaldive off Mount Rakota; we do this.”

Some older participants used to do this hobby on paper, before the introduction of the internet; they would draw maps and type news articles about their countries on paper and send it to one of them who acted as editor and published a paper magazine every month or two. “Not too glossy; we were poor students in those days!” Nowadays most interaction and role-play happens on the internet, such as in the chat application Strife.

Not everyone sees this activity as a harmless hobby. “What if they are talking in code and they are in reality planning some sort of attack? Maybe we should call the police!” says one passer-by. “Frankly, I call this treason”, says another. “What is wrong with our own country that requires them to make these fantasy worlds? It’s not right. These people should be rounded up for questioning!” Police were in fact present to make sure that the map makers stick to the tiles of the square and don’t put any graffiti on buildings or bus stops.

‘Angry citizens’ found Throngist Party of Nhoor

BORVA, 4 August 2023 | A group of citizens lead by the notorious philosopher Sa̦ba Gērgerōdy founded the Throngist Party of Nhoor (Soroqoch pw Cwstana li Nhōrili, SCNh) today. According to Gērgerōdy, who held a press conference following the party’s first meeting, the current political system of Nhoor is being held hostage by corporations and the country’s development and its citizens’ wellbeing hindered by inefficient traditions, and the foundation of the SCNh has therefore been called an ‘act of anger’.

“We need to do away with Nhoor as it is currently shaped”, Gērgerōdy argues. “Our nation has too many bureaucratic institutions that don’t communicate with each other and which put their own interest first instead of our citizens’ interest. Our complicated electoral system gives the people a false sense of freedom and choice, while being stuck in a pit of progressless dispair. When elected, we promise to shake up this country, rule on behalf of the people, and ease and straighten societal procedures to enable citizens to live their lives without the interference of complicated or contradictory rules and regulations.”

Throngism is a controversial ideology that has its origins in the Gaeltic nation of Lesva. While other nations in The Western Isles have throngist movements and political parties, Lesva remains the only nation that is governed entirely by a throngist party. Throngism is inherently undemocratic and rejects the Trias Politica doctrine, the separation of powers. The Lesvan throngist government provides universal services for its citizens, such as education and healthcare, and has abolished the institution of marriage. Although the SCNh is throngist in name, its party programme doesn’t seem to have copied all elements of its Lesvan counterpart; for the time being, Nhoor’s polygamist marriage system is not mentioned at all.

Leaders and spokespeople of other political parties as well as government ministers have responded negatively to the foundation of the SCNh. Arcod Nhestarāzy, leader of the socialdemocrat Workers’ Party of the Dominion COJ called the arrival of throngism in Nhoor a ‘bigger threat to Nhoor society than Sapli fever’, while Sordws Debeqen of the conservative Party of Agrarians and Fishermen CCJ said that any party that aims to put Nhoor’s political and societal stability in jeopardy should be treated with the utmost distrust. The next parliamentary elections will however take place only in April 2026 at the latest, so there is little chance that the SCNh gains immediate power.

The SCNh was founded in the city of Borva, which also happens to be the seat of the Council of High Judges (Nhāsɵt tesy Unnō pw Racoseƨ, Nhoor’s Constitutional Court). The choice of location wasn’t coincidental, as the separate judicial power is another element that the SNCh addressed in its party programme. The Council can await several cases involving the SCNh in the future, as within two hours after the press conference, lawsuits were introduced at several lower courts demanding the disqualification of the SCNh as a political party due to it being undemocratic.

RailRaedlon to improve train connections between ROS nations

SĀRRUC, 30 July 2023 | The Raedlon Organization of States (ROS) announced a plan to make the services surrounding cross-border train trips more efficient. Not only time tables and the connections between the member states’ larger cities should be improved, but also something essential such as the purchase of train tickets is the target of a complete overhaul.

“Member states citizens who need to cross the borders often complain that buying the necessary train tickets is a pain in the behind”, marketing manager Mhōrenī Vayda-Bac of Nhōra pw Hudo̦s (Nhoor Railways) explains. “And often the ticket prices increase a lot when borders are crossed, not to mention the long transfer times. Nhoor citizens are of course the least affected as we only have to cross one border to go to either Belantica or Solaryia, but Belanticans travelling to Solaryia and vice-versa have to pass through Nhoor. As organising a train trip is too much a nuisance, people often prefer taking the aircraft. The distance Sārruc-Suton however is too short to fly, ecologically; in this era that should not be a passenger’s first choice.”

ROS and the member states’ ministries of traffic and transport are in discussion with the operators of passenger rail services about which improvements can and should be made in this respect.

Fringe movement: “Nhoor Sapli fever cases caused by bioweapon testing”

SĀRRUC, 30 July 2023 | The government has been testing bioweapons aimed to spread Sapli fever. At least, this is being claimed by the fringe civil movement Davos Sōty (‘Truth Now’) ever since a couple of Nhoor citizens contracted the Sapli virus a couple of weeks ago. A recent article in the Kravatoan journal The Magistrate suggesting that so called Fever Papers leaked by another fringe group called UNDRGROUND, prove the existence of such bioweapons, were eagerly used by Davos Sōty to prove their point.

Davos Sōty frontman Nhozwd Cheresuqh is convinced that the government, or at least some members of it, has been ordered to develop these weapons by a secret international organisation that wants to create a race of super-human citizens by eliminating the weak.

“I can’t believe that I am even responding to this nonsense”, Health Minister Aruqo Te̦qhīseqh-Parsy comments. “This must be the fakest news ever! The Sapli fever has not been weaponised nor does the government intend to do so. Sapli is however dangerous, so the fewer contamination possibilities the better. So far Nhoor seems to be doing fine regarding the prevention of the spread of this disease: no further people have gotten sick, and I want to keep it that way.”

The website of Davos Sōty has experienced a record number of visitors however, and discussions on social media about the Fever papers and the ‘real’ reason some citizens of Nhoor contracted Sapli have boomed in the last couple of days. Several television channels and newspapers are therefore reminding the public to take Davos Sōty and Cheresuqh’s claims with a grain of salt: the same person was responsible in the past for claims that rabbits are aliens who use their cuteness to be bought by innocent earth families and spy on them, that the royal residence Castle Amhordēqh, located outside the city of Chur, has a secret launch facility for space ships, and that the devious purpose of cars is to devide citizens so that they can be controlled by the government more easily.

Minister wants to invest in Nhoor hydrogen infrastructure

SĀRRUC, 22 July 2023 | The government is intending to invest in an infrastructure for hydrogen fuelled cars. This was announced by Traffic Minister Maron I̦swla this morning in the popular television breakfast programme Cirvasan Ataypese̦m Tā̦r? (‘Do You Want A Croissant?’). According to the Minister, Nhoor is still underdeveloped when it comes to sustainable alternatives for motorised transport, whereas other countries such as neighbouring Belantica are much farther ahead.

“As far as Nhoor’s environment policy is concerned, we are still far behind in comparison with our neighbours”, the Minister said. “Although we have invested a lot in the expansion of our nuclear power facilities in recent years, there is more that we can do, and replacing the current combustion engine cars with something more environmentally friendly should definitely be on the agenda.”

The government intends to find a way to bring Nhoor car and energy industries in contact with their Belantican counterparts to discuss the matter in more detail. Only this week, their LDA Group made a new breakthrough with the development of their hydrogen fuel cell programme.

In related transport news, the Belantican government has recently approached Nhoor and Solaryia with a plan to improve the countries’ railway connections, a move that was welcomed by Minister I̦swla.

Criticism on effectiveness of Raedlon Organization of States

SĀRRUC, 14 July 2023 | As its third anniversary approaches, there has been growing criticism on the effectiveness of the Raedlon Organization of States (ROS), it has emerged. When asked about it, members of parliament as well as spokespeople of captains of industry and military leaders confessed that the organisation, which currently consists of Solaryia, Nhoor, and Belantica, has not developed into what everybody had hoped for when the project was launched three years ago: a regional block that improves communication, collaboration, and cooperation between its member states and presents them with one voice to the outside world. Especially the military cooperation is ‘near non-existent’, according to sources and also the nations’ foreign policies are not aligned at all.

“We are of course only three years in the organisation’s existence, and some start-up problems take longer to solve than others, but by now I was actually expecting the member states to approach each other automatically to at least discuss potentially common stances on e.g. the war between Kravato and Vacrus, the recent Askusian oil spill, and the political situation in Gael, but it still seems to be every nation for itself”, socialdemocrat party COJ leader Arcod Nhestarāzy commented. “A lot has been going on in the world recently and sharing each other’s opinions and learning from each other’s expertise would be wise moves to consider.”

A spokesperson of the Armed Forces confirms that this sentiment is shared by the general staves. “There has been one, … maybe two naval exercises so far in the existence of ROS, in which Belantica didn’t take part yet as they hadn’t joined the club yet. Apart from that, the phones have been quiet.” The spokesperson admitted that our country doesn’t seem to take any initiative either. “We have our procedures and ways of doing things; there hasn’t been any real incentive so far to involve Belantica or Solaryia in anything we do. There aren’t any joint projects to speak of.”

For the military aspect of ROS, the Secretariate of Raedlon Military Affairs (SRMA), part of the problem is that the set-up has not been completed yet. “The official inauguration of the military headquarters in Visegrad, Solaryia, has been postponed several times already, and at this point it is still not very clear what the exact structure of the Secretariate will be”, the spokesperson continues. “It’s not that there is disagreement; there simply isn’t any progress of its development.”

The same applies to the Raedlon Trade Council (RTC), the headquarters of which have been assigned to Belantica, which however still has to take a decision on the location. Temporary headquarters are located in ROS’s main office in Qhōmh in Nhoor.

COJ as well as other parties such as the liberaldemocrat SIQ and former First Minister Armhad Cellichen’s Citizens’ Initiative (VM) are pressuring the government to take more initiatives to make ROS work. “ROS was created when incumbent Prime Minister Orumha Cany served as Foreign Minister, so one would expect it to be in her interest that this thing she accomplished then will not come to its end while she is still in a position to prevent this”, SIQ leader Ozo Barus said.
