European Union – Commission XXXIV

The thirty-fourth European Commission was elected on the 10th of July 2023. Under the Constitution of the European Union, each Commissioner is elected separately. The Premier Commissioner and Internal Affairs Commissioner each serve four-month terms, while the Foreign Affairs Commissioner serves an eight-month term. Premier Commissioner – Akem Linek, Istkalen (Eastern haane)

Akem Linek has been a long-time politico within the National Republican Party of Istkalen, where he is widely considered the leader of its conservative wing. Despite his storied history in party politics, Linek never held any official office until being elected Deputy Councillor for Istkalen to the European Union in May 2021. Link was elected Premier Commissioner of the European Union in July 2023 after winning 60% of the vote in the second round.

Internal Affairs Commissioner – Wirt Harland, Elthize

Wirt Harland served as an Elthic Assembly Member from April 2008 until June 2009, and then as a Senator until April 2022. Harland distinguished himself in the Elthic Senate by becoming the main proponent for the impeachment of the country’s former president, and for advocating for Elthic ascension to the European Union. Harland ran for President of Elthize in 2018 and was very narrowly defeated. Harland was unanimously elected Internal Affairs Commissioner of the European Union in January 2023. Harland was unanimously re-elected as Internal Affairs Commissioner in July 2023.

Foreign Affairs Commissioner – Tomáš Krejčí, Inquista

Tomáš Krejčí was born in the small Czechslavonic town of Rudolfov in 1980. Upon completing his high school education, Krejčí went on to work as a manual labourer at the nearby Lišov Mine. After two years of manual labour, Krejčí was trained to become a mining machine operator. After another two years, in 2002, Krejčí's was promoted to lead machine operator on the site. Two decades of operating heavy machinery eventually took its toll on Krejčí, who then opted to pivot to life a of public service after unanimously being elected Foreign Affairs Commissioner of the European Union in July 2023.
