The Map of the System of Antares, the home system of Anegana

The Antares Star System is home to a variety of different planets and interstellar objects. Anegana, the name of our homeworld, is the Second Planet from the Sun. Ignore the formatting error. The sun is named Antares, while our homeworld which is indicated by the star is called Anegana. Note however, that this map is not to scale, and should not be confused for a hyperaccurate space map.

Formed approximately 5.7 Billion Years ago, Antares is one of the youngest stars that was formed shortly after the Astartes Galaxy was formed (Known as the Andromeda Galaxy in a another nearby Galaxy. Don't ask us how we know that). After a brief gas cloud period, the planet of Anegana was formed around 5.3 to 5.1 Billion Years ago.

Single called organisms began to form around 4.2 Billion Years ago, but it wasn't until 3.8 Billion Years ago that solid land was first formed. Regardless, it was only 657 Million years ago that multicellular land creatures were first evolved. It took a bit longer, but eventually the first common ancestor for humans existed some 7 Million Years ago. 217,000 years ago was the first time the current existing branch of Aneganan humans first existed, and the Cognitive Revolution 47,000 years ago and the discovery of Agriculture around 13,455 B.D paved the way for Aneganan Human Civilization. The rest of history can be found in the history factbooks of the various nation-states on Anegana.

Interstellar Exploration was first pioneered by The Technocratic Federation of Lycantine with the discovery of the Fusion Reactor in 345 B.D. However it wasn't until nearly century later, in 255 B.D that Orbital and Systemwide vessels utilizing the aforementioned Fusion Reactors became wildly popular in the development of the wider Antares infrastructure. The development of the Atlas Command Centre necessitated the need for larger and larger mineral deposits, and as the mining operations in Alara became deeper and deeper, it was determined that the Castaneda Asteroid Belt could be a more cost efficient method of mineral procurement. As such, Lycantine embarked on its adventures into Antares around 250 years ago.

As more and more nations began to join Lycantine in the stars, Lycantine was forced out of isolation, embracing cooperation with these new younger nations and exchanging technological advances with them. Often a deal between nations would be made in which Lycantine would use a nation's atmospheric and Orbital space to develop space stations or space platforms used for research, mineral processing, telecommunications, or even military stations in exchange for the promise that after a certain amount of time, the nation could purchase its space back at a discount and Lycantine would surrender all of its assets in the space to the nation. This has led to an unprecedented program of Antares Infrastructural development and was one of the foundations of the Anegana Agreement.

Other notable landmarks include the Lycantine Research and Defense station. Established just recently, it organizes use of Lycantine's Interstellar Section of Fleet Command to ward off or destroy potential Interstellar threats from Anegana. These can include asteroids, meteors, and other foreign objects. In conjunction with the Orbital Defense Network, Lycantine protects Anegana from any potential meteor threats that could suddenly, and rudely, disturb the peace of the planet.

So far only a few nations, at the writing of this dispatch, have breached the gravity well of Anegana, with even fewer having dedicated space infrastructure. These nations, with dedicated space infrastructure, are Lycantine, Coridge, Felines, and Apolliyon.

Well, that about covers the Antares System. Thank you for listening!
