Aeguka National Congress
The Aeguka National Congress (Aegukese: 애국아국회; ANC) is the national legislature of the Choi aeguka. With 300 members, under the 2027 National Constitution, the ANC is a bicameral legislature, with the House of Representatives as the lower house, and the National People's Senate as the upper house, both having the power to legislate, oversee the operations of the government, and to appoint major state officials. Senators are elected for a five-year term through plurality voting and NPC selections, while Representatives are elected for a three-year term through the parallel voting system and local congressional elections. The Aeguka National Congress and its Central People's Committee (ANC-CPC), a legislative consultative body whose members represent various social groups, are the main deliberative bodies of ANC legislation and are often referred to as the Two Pillars. The ANC holds monthly bicameral sessions, usually lasting from 15 to 20 days, in the National Congress Building in the Daemin District of Congress in Aejeon. These monthly meetings are timed to occur with the meetings of the CPC, providing an opportunity for state legislators to review past policies and present future plans to the nation.
Membership to the House and the National People's Senate is full-time and carries an annual salary. Membership to the Central People's Committee (CPC) is also full-time but carries a monthly salary, its members are nominated and appointed by the ANF Standing Committee on Legislative Affairs. The ANC is a bicameral legislature, vested with the power to legislate and monitor the National Government, and nominate major state officials.
