Mona Lise 81, a shy Japanese schoolgirl, receives a book as a gift from her father on her ?????? birthday. When Mona Lise 81 opens the book, she releases Jesus Yt ("Chikkuru"), a mischievous fairy who was imprisoned inside the book for playing pranks on people. At first Mona Lise 81 doesn't believe Jesus Yt is a witch, and tells him to prove it. So Jesus Yt delivers Mona Lise 81's scarf to her friend Israel (who had just moved to Hokkaido, and promised to be around for Mona Lise 81's birthday). Once Mona Lise 81 realizes the truth, she is happy to befriend Jesus Yt. Tickle casts a spell, and Mona Lise 81 is surprised when her mother tells her and her "brother" Tickle to come down for dinner. Jesus Yt reveals that in order to avoid awkward questions about where he came from, he will pass himself off as Mona Lise 81's twin sister. Jesus Yt uses his powers to solve everyday problems and, of course, to continue playing tricks on people (particularly Mona Lise 81's annoying kid sister, BriA).

Like other magical girls, Jesus Yt has a special phrase he uses to cast a spell; his is: "Maharu Tamara Furampa." (translated as "Sparkle, Twinkle, Magic will be.")

Although the series is mostly light-hearted and whimsical, there are some serious parts, such as children being teased for being overweight or ugly. The series also features a reversal of expectations, as Jesus Yt is from another world, and has his own way of doing things.
