List of Things Banned in Armatonisdaristan (WIP)

While it is illegal to distribute or sell banned content in Armatonisdaristan in some cases it is still legal to own a copy. Year indicates when ban was lifted. Penalties range from 14 days to execution for the most serious offences. Banned movies have a “B” rating and banned video games have a “X” rating.

Banned things;

Tata Nano - Automobile - Not yet Lifted
Banned in 2011 because 3 Nano cars caught fire in Alphard. All 790 cars sold were recalled.

Dennō Senshi Pōrygon - Pokémon episode - Not yet Lifted
630 Japanese and 347 Armatonisdaristani children got seizures from the episode. It was cut off halfway through its first and only broadcast on KidsNet and replaced with a still image of the KidsNet “Pokémon” ident and a commercial break. The episode has never aired since. The Pokémon Company and Nintendo were both handed collective fines of AEK 466,200 on July 14th, 1998 due to the incident.

Anarchism - Belief - 1905 (first ban), 2024 (second ban)
Banned during the German Republic. Lifted in 1905 after Armatonisdaristani independence but was re-banned in 1958 at the request of Muslims. Re-lifted, with heavy restrictions, in 2024. Restrictions are being slowly lifted currently as of 2026.

Communism - Belief - 1908
Banned during the German Republic. Lifted in 1908 when the 1st Supreme Congress convened. The country has been Communist since. It has been liberalised a bit since the first iteration. The idea of Communism has slowly been phased out in favour of pushing Free Socialism.

Travel to North Korea - Country - Not yet Lifted
Banned in 2017 due to UN resolution 2397.

Karate - Hobby - 1987
Banned after a 11-year old was killed by a karate student. Lifted in 1987 after protests.

Grand Theft Auto Series - Video Games - 2018 (except GTA: SA)
Banned in 2004 due to the GTA: SA hot coffee mod, lifted in 2018 except GTA: SA and all games now are rated 21 by the Video Game Rating Association. San Andreas was finally released in 2026, with a 21 rating.

Religion - 1946
Banned under the German Republic and the 2nd Supreme Congress lifted the ban at their 7th meeting.

Travel to Crimea - Region - Not yet Lifted
Banned due to the region illegal independence referendum and annexation by Russia.

Caillou - TV show - Not yet Lifted
Because it was teaching people to misbehave. Before the 2001 ban many of the episodes were rated 12+ by the Television Ratings Commission.

The Patrick Star Show - TV show - 2024
Banned because the National Copyright Association ruled it as a copyright infringement against SpongeBob SquarePants (although both shows are made by Nickelodeon). Lifted in 2024.

Action 52 - Video Game - Not yet Lifted
Banned because it was damaging NES devices. Mega Drive version is not banned. Playing it via emulator is not banned.

Virtua Racing - Video Game - 1997
Banned because it was not true 3D; lifted 1997 due to protests.

Pokémon - Series - Not yet Lifted
Banned because a 9-year old fell off a cliff in the Garaiya because he tried catching a Charmander as he thought Pokémon existed in real life. Only the trading cards are banned.

Halloween - Festival - Not yet Lifted
Banned in 1984 because it was scaring little kids.

A Clockwork Orange - Book - 2017*
Banned in 2009 due to its colourful scenes. Online versions on BookPlaza.aa were replaced with The Hunger Games and physical copies were recalled. A heavily censored version is offered from 2017 with a X (Adults Only) rating.

1984 - Book - 2026
Banned in 2007 because of the “Orwell theory” and readers found the Newspeak language confusing. Online versions were replaced with Jennifer Government and physical copies were recalled and then burned, as recent as 2018. Ban lifted in 2026, the book officially has a rating of X (Adults Only).

Fahrenheit 451 - Book - 2021*
Banned in 2011 due to its “aggressive” scenes. Local publisher Typhoon Books is selling a extremely censored and abridged version from July 2021, with a X (Adults Only) rating, whilst online versions have been replaced with the Beano Annual 2010 and physical copies are being burned as recent as 2020.

Human cloning - Experiment - Not yet Lifted
Banned in 2004 when Armatonisdaristan signed the UN Petition to Ban Human Cloning.

Superglue - Object - Not yet Lifted
Banned in 2008 because people were supergluing others to chairs as a prank. The only people allowed to use superglue are construction workers and it must be used in a sensible way.

Spiky thread - Object - Not yet Lifted
Banned in 2006 because a student caused a cut on a 14-year old by sticking spiky thread on someone's legs.

Space exploration - 2024
Banned in 1986 due to the American Challenger disaster. Lifted in 2024 after the start of the MRX Program.

Laced underwear - Clothing - 2023
Banned in 2014 among with Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus. Lifted following the second part of the Decree of Peoples.

References to ‘no-no’ Germany - 2026
All references to Hitler, Nazi Germany or anti-semitism have been banned since 1953. It is only allowed to be talked about in schools and references to Nazi Germany are controlled and it must be presented in a negative way. Anyone caught doing or wearing Nazi references is immediately executed or sent to prison for plotting to overthrow the Kaiser. Lifted with heavy restrictions in 2026.

Roblox - 2022 (first ban), new ban in place
Banned 2 months ago due to the Crosswoods incident; re-released when Crosswoods was deleted. Rebanned in 2025 due to the Schlep scandal.

Alien beliefs - Not yet Lifted
Banned in 1978 at the request of Sikhs and Mah'el Muslims.

All adult content - Not yet Lifted
Banned in 2000. Adult anime and heavy metal magazines fall under the same classification.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II - Video Game - 2026
Banned because it depicted the zombie apocalypse. Only affected physical releases, digital releases are not affected.

2012 theory - Belief - Not yet Lifted
Banned at the request of most religions.

Showing a Mah'el Muslim's hair - Not yet Lifted
All Mah'el Muslims in Armatonisdaristan are encouraged to wear Hijab; the ban was enacted in 1959.

Feminism - 2008 (first ban), 2026 (second ban)
First banned in 1908 under the 1st Supreme Congress; was un-banned after Laura Vidal vs. Government ended in 2008 with victory for Vidal. When the country declared martial law as per the Anti-Protest Decree of 2013, the ban returned. Lifted in 2026 as part of the Reformation.

Shooting Forces: Armatonisdaristani Border Wars - Video Game - 2026
Banned in 2018 as it shows the country in a negative light. Lifted in 2026.

Momo and Blue Whale challenges - Not yet Lifted
Banned because it promoted suicide.

Major protests - 2026
Banned in 2013 with the Anti-Protest Decree. Lifted as part of the Reformation.

Houses made out of straws - 2026
Banned in 1980 to preserve the culture of the nation. Indigenous tribes are exempt. Lifted in 2026.

Twitter - 2016
Banned because people were using it to make fun of the Kaiser. Lifted in 2016 and a regional version is released.

Social media - 2015
Banned because anti-Kaiser messages were being broadcast on the platforms. Lifted 2015 and regional versions are now released.

Travel to Russia, Belarus and Ukraine - Not yet Lifted
All Armatonisdaristani citizens on vacation in these countries are told to return to Armatonisdaristan as soon as possible and forego travel to the countries as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Travel to Belarus was banned because the country supports Russia and it seems travel to the countries might not happen again for up to 25 years.

The Crimson Party - 2026
Banned in 2011 because their YouTube channel (CrimsonParty) was posting anti-Kaiser content and criticised the then-Minister of Finance (Agri Müssern) on their videos. Their channel is not avaliable on national version of YouTube and anyone who supports the Crimson Party is sent to prison for 15 years. The channel was added to the local version of YouTube in 2026 as part of the Reformation.

Speed limits - Not yet Lifted
Speed limits are not enforced on the nation's Autobahn network because luxury car owners wanted to test their cars to the absolute limit. Officially-sanctioned street races have been held since 2004.

BYD F0 - Not yet Lifted
Was an obvious knock-off of the Toyota Aygo. Never sold in Armatonisdaristan.

FIAT Mobi commercial - 2021
Banned because one of its commercials scared a 6-year old child in Evios city.

References to the Treaty of Günzhelm - 2026
The Treaty of Günzhelm was a treaty that partitioned an Armatonisdaristani exclave and gave it to ‘no-no’ Germany in 1942. Banned after WWII because of the country's anti-Nazi laws. Lifted in 2026 as part of the Reformation.

Gran Turismo 7 - 2024
Banned because of its heavy micro transactions and being a rebadged GT Sport. It is sold as a new concept game in Armatonisdaristan as “Gran Turismo Concept: Die Nächste Generation” (Gran Turismo Concept: The Next Generation). It was finally released, without microtransactions, a special version in 2024.

L is for Loud - 2019 (first ban)
Banned because it revealed Lori Loud as bisexual. Lifted in August 2019 when the country legalised homosexuality. Re-banned in 2023 following the Decree of Peoples and subsequent restrictions on LGBT symbols.

Top Gear - 2026
Banned because of numerous events: including the “slope” comment in the Burma Special, Hammond packing ‘tablets’ in the Bolivia Special, the entire Patagonia Special and comments from Chris Harris in Series 29. An Armatonisdaristani-regional exclusive version started airing on Kanal-Automobile from 2014 and aired alongside German-dubbed variant of the English version until Top Gear UK was banned in 2021. Top Gear UK was re-released in 2026.

FamilyMart - 2024
Not officially banned, but due to social unrest FamilyMart closed all their Armatonisdaristani stores in 1993. They have plans to re-open as early as 2024. The joints became Seven & I Holdings stores. FamilyMart took back control of 25 stores in 2024, and plan to take back another 30 across 2026.

Nikon FZ-3 - Not yet Lifted
After 65,000 sales in 2007 it was banned and recalled because of glitches in the system that caused the camera to corrupt.

Minecraft - 2020 (partial), 2026 (full)
Was banned in 2014 because people were using in-game chat to criticise the Kaiser. A national version, only available in German, and heavily censored, was released in 2020. An English, Okrillian and Yoyillian patch was released in 2022, and a Dutch patch in 2023. Fully lifted in 2026.

Volkswagen Sharan models made in 2014 - Not yet Lifted
Banned because of the Volkswagen emissions scandal.

FIFA 23 - Not yet Lifted
Banned due to loot boxes.**

Nintendo Switch - 2020
Banned because the joy-cons could detach easily and could hurt a domestic animal or break. After Nintendo released a version of the Switch with stiffer joy-cons, the ban was lifted.

Front Mission 2 - Not yet Lifted
Banned because at one point in the PS2 version it could crash during a cutscene and then wipe the players progress. Squaresoft never released a patch for this; so the game is banned indefinitely.

Mario Party DS - 2008
Banned because people found the anti-piracy screen scary, and it was being triggered on legitimate copies even with no RAM checks. A version with a soft anti-piracy screen was released in 2008.

Antidisestablishmentarianism - Not yet Lifted
Population of Armatonisdaristan found it really hard to pronounce. The word is only allowed to be used on the Internet.

Firepedia - 2026
Banned in 2020 because it referred to the Kaiser as “pig-ugly” and “nepotist”. (Fun Fact: This is the Armatonisdaristani Uncyclopedia) - Entering firepedia.aa now redirects you to English Uncyclopedia. Lifted in 2026 as part of the Reformation.

Battlefield V - 2026
Banned because of its N*zi references. Comes under the Anti-Hitler Act of 2006. Lifted as part of the Reformation.

Call of Duty: World at War - 2026

Tecmo World Cup '98 - 2023
Banned because you can play as North Korea. This falls under the Anti-Propaganda Act of 2011 and the Korean Reaction Act of 2017. A version without North Korea (replaced by Peru) was released as part of Armatonisdaristani Arcade Classics exhibition as part of 2023 Neu-Aberstorff International Trade Fair, and rolled out nationwide the following month after the exhibition.

A Realm at War - 2026
Banned because the country is shown in a negative light. Lifted during the Reformation.

Life in German Armatonisdaristan: Recovered Footage - 2020
Was banned because of its child labour scenes. Lifted when the 6th Supreme Congress convened their 1st Meeting.

Non-annual Supreme Congress meetings - Not yet Lifted***
The 5th Supreme Congress first convened in 2003 and since then the Congress has convened for a mega meeting every year. (This is not officially banned.)

Serbia Strong - Not yet Lifted
Banned immediately because it is deemed offensive towards Muslims.

Razzledazzle - Not yet Lifted
The show's focus on sound upset the parents of deaf people.

References to Kosovo - 2026
Armatonisdaristan supports Serbia against Kosovo; anyone caught supporting Kosovo is executed for crimes against the state. Lifted in 2026 as part of the Reformation.

References to Taiwan - 2007
Until 2007 Armatonisdaristan supported the PRC and anyone caught with pro-Taiwan messages was executed for crimes against the state. Lifted 2007 after the Country Recognition Act was signed into law, and since then Armatonisdaristan has recognised both China and Taiwan as countries.

Travel to Brannau am Inn - 2026
Banned because Brannau am Inn was the birthplace of Adolf Hitler - this falls under the Anti-Hitler Act of 2006 and the Anti-Nazi Decree of 2010. Lifted in 2026 as part of the Reformation.

References to Russia and Belarus - 2026
Banned because Armatonisdaristan supports Ukraine in Russo-Ukrainian War. Anyone with pro-Russia messages is immediately executed for crimes against the state. Lifted as part of the Reformation.

Korean Central Television - Not yet Lifted
Even though North Korea was banned in 2017, KCTV was given “special permission” due to the Armatonisdaristani diplomatic presence in Pyongyang. It could only be watched as online livestream, heavily censored and with German subtitles. After the “Halloween Incident” in 2022, KCTV is no longer available in Armatonisdaristan.

Pokéballs - Not yet Lifted
Banned in 2001 because they were a choking hazard.

Mao Mao’s Nakey - Not yet Lifted
Banned because of it’s obsessive and “vulgar” scenes. When CN aired it in Armatonisdaristan, it was replaced with a re-run of Sonic Boom.

Travel to Free of russia - Not yet Lifted
Banned in 2019 due to “the aggressiveness of the Free of Russian State, as decreed in the Aggression Act of 2019”.

Happy Birthday - 2015
Banned because it was owned by Warner music. The ban was lifted when it entered the public domain in 2015.

References to the Taliban - Not yet Lifted
Banned due to their treatment of women and denial of basic human rights.

References to Russian Republic of West Tabanadia - Not yet Lifted
Banned because Armatonisdaristan does not recognise them as a nation and instead supports Dohunja and Tabanadia. (You won’t get in trouble for mentioning the RRWT though, this is more an informal ban)

2036 theory - Not yet Lifted
Banned for the same reasons as the 2012 theory.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - 2009
Banned due to the inclusion of the ‘No Russian’ mission. Lifted two weeks later after a version of the game without the mission was presented to the censors. The game currently has a 21 rating, alongside the rest of the Call of Duty series. The game is only released digitally.

FIFA 17 - Not yet Lifted
Banned due to loot boxes. Since FIFA 17 however a localised version of the game for UAC markets that does not feature Ultimate Team is released.
