PRAF Report 8/18/2022 - Massive RotWW Turnout - PRAF Policy Update

Massive RotWW Turnout - PRAF Policy Update

Raid On Realm of the Whispering Winds

Realm of the Whispering Winds was another exciting opportunity for PRAF to test its pile capabilities. The region was a viable target due its primary Capitalist and Conservative tags, and was a fun chance for PRAF to work alongside our friends in TWPAF and TBH. The battle to hold the region was intense, with multiple updates where having three less pilers would have resulted in RotWW being successfully liberated. PRAF pulled through despite this, bringing a crucial total of 55 pilers to the fight!

Although there were concerns about potential inactivity when PRAF was first re-conceptualized, the military has been nothing but a success, with increasingly bigger showings and a stunning willingness from TCBers to give every fight their all. I don't think it's unreasonable to aim for making 55 pilers a constant number, and then expanding towards 60 or 65. I look forward to seeing what PRAF can do next!

Policy Update

There's no better time to review policies than when we're experiencing success. Ensuring that we're happy with what we're doing so far and looking out for what we'd like to start doing in the future will keep PRAF from becoming stagnant.

Previously, PRAF has only raided regions that could be described as any of the following:
- Fascist
- Conservative
- Capitalist
- Having conservative, capitalist, monarchist, or anti-communist regional tags
- Having embassies which indicate alliance with regions describable as any of the above

PRAF will always prioritize raids on these types of region as the most core aspect of our military. However, after some discussion involving feedback from various TCB citizens, we'll be updating our policies slightly.

PRAF will now also be willing to raid regions which are not describable as any of the bulletpoints on the above list if, and only if:
- The target region does not identify itself as leftist
- The target region does not have an active or thriving community which would be permanently damaged by a raid
- Participating in the raid is deemed as a way to strengthen a mutually beneficial relationship with an allied region and/or PRAF's participation in the raid is being exchanged for aid with an operation specifically in line with PRAF's core goals

The final crucial point is that no PRAF member who is not comfortable participating in an operation of this nature will be expected to participate, or treated any differently for choosing not to participate. Participation in these types of operations will be, as with all of our operations, fully voluntary. It will always be clearly stated that an operation is of this nature to avoid any confusion for PRAF members. That said, I'd be thrilled to see TCB members rally behind these ops the way they've done for all of our previous ones! You've heard of TCB pride for quashing conservative-tagged regions, so now can we get some TCB pride for just being good at raids we participate in in general?

This change was overall responded to very favorably by TCB members after it was proposed, and I feel very confident that it will enable PRAF to stay active, to more frequently help our fantastic allies who help us, and to encourage a higher number of planned operations specifically for our core goals. Multiple of the ops PRAF had the most fun with, like TCNTW and Japan, were actually kicked off because we participated in another operation (e.g EmbassyRegionia), and I'd like to see that energy continuing.

With that out of the way, it's time for all the fun stats about how many goddamn TCBers heard the words "Come help with this raid?" and decided to make me super happy by joining in and kicking ass.

Promotions

We gained quite a few new Reservists as a result of this raid, which is exciting! Some promotions are being given out to multiple Reservists.

The following fantastic new Reservists have all been promoted from Nestling to the much cooler-sounding rank of Fledgling Falcon:

QXF
Czechoslovakia and zakarpatia
4D Donkeys
Socialist indian republics

Congrats, and here's to seeing you on many more raids in the future!

Our OG and most consistent Reservist, Malaya Communism has been promoted to King Vulture! I'm always appreciative of how they're always down to show up for a raid, and I wish every single Reservist could be like them. Congratulations to them!

Meanwhile, hallmark RMBer Brezzia and the impressively reliable Socialist republic of mountairio have been promoted to Hell Hawk. Congratulations and thank you to them--I hope to see them showing for five more raids and hitting King Vulture as well!

The statistics in the Roster will be updated tomorrow, because it is presently past 2 AM and I would like to go to bed before I do anything involving numbers. See y'all at the next raid, TCB!

(Note: Despite attempts to be thorough, I may occasionally miss mentioning a nation in the Statistics list. If you participated but were not mentioned, please telegram me, and I will correct it ASAP. I appreciate all of our brave pilots!)
