Map Rules
  1. Claims: All new claims are to be submitted to the cartographer using the following form:

      NS Name:
      Canon Name:
      Capital:
      Population:
      GDP per capita: (USD)
      Culture(s): [Earth equivalent(s)]
      Focus: (Magic/Hybrid/Future)

Map submissions can either be made on the map-submissions channel in the Discord server or telegrammed to The sparkling jester with a link to a dispatch containing the application form.

  2. Role Play Affairs and the cartographer have discretion in approving, modifying, or denying your claim.

  3. Map hopping: The act of changing map position is discouraged, however not illegal. Review will be made at the moderation team's discretion.

  4. Expansions: These are earned through proper worldbuilding, proper roleplay, or both depending on circumstances.

    1. Expansions are permitted once every 2 months, should they fulfill the necessary criteria and are to be requested through the map-request channel. The moderation team has discretion to approve or deny the request.

    2. An expansion may be requested before it is started, as to reserve the area you wish to control, however this reservation may be revoked if inactivity befalls your nation or failure to fulfill criteria to earn one.

  5. Climate: This planet has a climate map. If you wish to have a climate in a specific area, it may be allowed through terraforming. Review will be made at the cartographer's discretion.

  6. There should be a post indicating activity made in good faith to maintain a spot on the map. The maximum time of inactivity before removal is 2 months.

Claim Options

As there are different approaches to nation-forming, organization of civilization, and social perceptions to property and ownership, this can be reflected in the aesthetic of your nation on the map. The three ways that nations will be depicted on the map will be nation-states, nomads, and city-states. Based on what approach the player may want to take, these three options can inform what type of nation it is.

Nation-state
This category has clearly defined borders and adheres closer to the European sense of sovereign territory. These nations will have black borders around them.

RL Examples include:
United States
Japan
Russia
Saudi Arabia

Nomads
This category only has the selected color to outline what areas of the map the player occupies, like a highlight. Colors are slightly faded into the base green (that shade of green depicts unsettled land).

RL Examples include:
The Hadza people
Greenlandic Inuit
The Adivasi
The Sami

City-state
This category is drawn like the nation-state, but it would be selectively smaller to serve an independent and sovereign city. All territory can be the metropolitan area itself or it can be the metro area and some outlying lands within the territory.

RL Examples include:
Monaco
Singapore
Vatican City
