Leftist Monaco started in the late 19th century. Italian socialists spilled into Monaco and wanted a change everywhere, even the small ones. Monaco's government, an Absolute Monarchy, requested that Italy help with the "wide spread revolution", but Italy had bigger problems and left Monaco on its own. In the early 20th century, wide spread revolution happened all over Italy and Germany, including Monaco. While theirs were unsuccessful, Monaco lost to the large groups and established a Socialist Dictatorship. And ever since 1928, it had been this way.
