Welcome to the central page of the Empire of Andrew's regional gazetteer, intended to introduce our collected lore and act as a definitive record of shared canon, developed over more than a decade by a talented and highly committed group of friends. This page will be updated regularly with relevant information, and should be considered an up-to-date resource, reflecting the reality of the EOA universe in the present year. Keep in mind that all statistics are calculated only on the basis of earth-based territory, excluding any extra-planetary holdings that nations may possess. The profiles arranged below offer a condensed view of the background and personalities of each of the nine member states of the Empire of Andrew. Clicking on gazetteer prompt or country code in the navigation bar will take you to a more detailed individual nation entry, which includes brief in-character summaries of each member state's geography, history, politics, administration, economy, society, culture, infrastructure, military, and foreign affairs. Maps and demographic profiles specific to each nation are also available at the individual gazetteer level. Information housed on the gazetteer information is accurate to earth in the present day, which should not discount the fact that many nations hold territory outside of the planet.
Please note that several of the linked gazetteer profiles are filled with placeholder text, awaiting further development of the gazetteer project. Each passage has been chosen to reflect the history and culture of the corresponding nation, chosen from great works of literature. As they are actively phased out, literary passages will continue to be available on a separate dispatch.

CORSAHNIM The youngest regional power, built by dissenting settlers in a highland redoubt after centuries of persecution overseas. A hard-won spiritual homeland carrying real historical scars, the Corsahn state maintains a strong prophetic identity guided by its charismatic leadership. A communal, almost familial, society balances the inherited teachings of scripture with an ever-more cosmopolitan and technologically ambitious future, all driven by a deep sense of civilizational destiny. |
CYBUSIAN EMPIRE Just one corner of an extraplanetary parent empire, the Cybusian settlement which began as an accidental shipwreck-colony of 'Evolved' now boasts the region's highest level of development. Offworld connections power a ultra high-tech laissez-faire economy, managed at a distance by a god-emperor whose meritocratic civil service operates with missionary zeal. A well-ordered society holds up intelligence, charity, and fortitude as universal virtues, and social etiquette (especially in fashion) is everywhere observed. |
FORMOSAN REPUBLIC The product of a nationalist rebellion which bifurcated dynastic China, gradual democratization has transformed once-isolationist Formosa into a bastion of free trade and peace through strength. Industry is king in this country where paramilitary corporations rival the power of the state, and where technological efficiency have elevated society to the brink of extraterrestrial expansion. Formosa increasingly resembles an outward-looking culture defined by the powerful (if unpredictable) fusion of commerce, innovation, and ambition. |
MARMARAN EMPIRE A modern federation of ancient states, the Marmaran Sultan traces their lineage of rule to the Byzantines, Ottomans, and Safavids who came before. The empire's enormous population is as diverse as the land they inhabit, but they remain bound together by an allegiance to the House of Marmara and shared values of faith, family, and social harmony. Devastated by recent global conflicts, its longtime system of enlightened absolutism is under greater strain than ever. |
PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF ORSON Founded by a race of ex-slaves fleeing offworld masters, Orson's thousand-year civilization has been a long journey towards redemption and a return to the stars. The autarkic central government, dominated by a thin ethnic Orsonian minority, has the power to direct unmatched economic and military capital, with a tendency towards brinksmanship and extreme politics. Its rigid social order, a source of deep-rooted prejudice, has nevertheless spawned a rich tapestry of highly distinctive spiritual and cultural customs. |
SANTA LUCIJA A longtime imperial power, recently reborn as a federal republic following a yearslong civil war which toppled the conservative orthodoxy of the Tsar. In spite of its newfound democracy, Lucija remains marked by extreme income inequality and an oligarchic political order. Its stoic population has persevered through a heavy diplomatic winter, remaining unflinchingly patriotic and striving for a return to collective dignity and security. Expect them to fall back on an unpretentious culture which prizes endurance, ingenuity, and the pursuit of a better life. |
TIMMIAN CONFEDERATION An alliance of the modern era's leading capitalist powers, Timmy's liberal democracy is a rock of stability in an otherwise turbulent region. Though wealthy and productive, the state shows a noted preference for soft power exercised through its abundant cultural output and highly globally integrated consumer economy. The country's manifold overseas investments, protected by a policy of armed neutrality, have made the Timmies the world's leading dealmakers year after year. |
WAGAIN EMPIRE Forged from Pre-Columbian indigenous cultures and reshaped by waves of conquest, rebellion, and migration, Wagondia remains a dynamic and unfinished civilization. The seat of the United Council of Peoples, it is a diplomatic heavyweight with a highly productive export-oriented economy and a firm faith in collective institutions. Wagains themselves are irrepressibly passionate romantic, cultured, tolerant to a fault, and suspicious of international entanglements which would spoil a good time. |
WEST AFRICA CONFEDERATION Descended directly from the historical Mali Empire, the West Africa Confederation outlasted centuries of colonial encroachments, and remains marked by a fierce independent streak to this day. It is among the world's most equitable, democratic, and socially resilient societies, though often distrustful of its larger, chronically belligerent neighbors. The Malian state is expertly resourceful and hyper-vigilant in its defense, lending the country a degree of technological advancement far above its peer nations and essential for the protection of its sacred principles. |
