Hill's Armory Shoulder Fired Guided Missile Launcher 125mm (SFGML-125)

Overview

The SFGML is a complexly engineered shoulder mounted missile launcher, capable of delivering a variety of munitions, through a variety of different methods. While the platform is overly heavy, it is extremely potent. It features numerous important things such as a laser designator/range finder, and a thermal imaging unit. It features numerous safeties allowing for it to be transported while loaded.

ROF,Mass,Ammunition,Range

Rate of Fire: User dependent, optimally 6 rounds per minute.

Mass: 7kg tube, 7kg fire control system.

Ammunition: The SFGML-125 utilizes SFGM-125 missiles of varying utility, delivery method, and payloads.

Range: Effective range is determined by the missile, but generally for unguided munitions a maximum effective range of 3km is present.

Features

Frame: A primarily carbon fiber, and composite frame, the SFGML is fairly light for its overall size. Unfortunately it is still incredibly heavy especially while loaded and fully equipped.

Safeties: The SFGML has two safeties sometimes three. One in that the fire control system must be attached to the tube to fire. Another in its safety switch requiring the launched be set to 'fire'. The third being present with certain missile types requiring a lock before firing.

Fire Control System: The SFGML is serviced with an FCS. The FCS itself has a 7kg weight simply for all of its features. Most of the weight comes from its thermal imaging system and its supporting equipment such as the refrigeration system to cool the thermal imaging system. Further the FCS has a digital 1x to 10x zoom system, an attaching/detaching mechanism allowing for it to be moved or used separate from the SFGML, a laser range finder/designator, and an uplink system providing GPS and target imaging to nearby units while receiving other information that other units can provide. Further the FCS can provide the missile with the guidance path information to allow it to perform a top-attack maneuver enabling easier destruction of things like MBT's.

Soft Launch: The SFGML utilizes a soft launch system in which each of its munitions has a small explosive charge to propel the SFGM out of the barrel and some distance away before its rocket motor activates. This enables the SFGML to be fired from within buildings due to a lack of direct backblast.
