Dernellian Industries L-1 85mm Recoilless Rifle (L-1RR)

The L-1 is a recoilless rifle designed to use a variety of munitions, and take out a myriad of targets. It is optimally used with a gunner and loader, but can be operated by a single person with fair ease. It can use rocket assisted or conventional recoilless munitions. It's designed to be light and cheap, as well as small for use in urban environments, though the back blast makes such difficult.

Rate of Fire: User dependent, optimally 6 rounds per minute.

Mass: 7kg unloaded.

Ammunition: The L-1 utilizes 85mm rockets with a length less than 500mm. This includes tandem HEAT munitions, regular HEAT munitions, HE munitions whether airburst or impact detonated. Smoke/flare rounds, as well as general training munitions.

Range: Maximum effective range is dependent upon munitions used, standard munitions have a maximum effective range of 1km, rocket assisted munitions have a maximum effective range of 2km.

Muzzle Energy: Over 160,000 Joules from a 950mm barrel.

Frame: A primarily carbon fiber, and composite frame, the L-1 is made incredibly light for being 1,000mm long. The internal rifled barrel is made of steel, but this only makes up a small amount of the overall mass.

Safeties: The L-1 features two safeties to allow for the weapon to be carried and transported while loaded. The first safety is that the handle that includes the firing trigger is foldable, and is required to be unfolded before the launcher is capable of firing. The second is that the firing switch be set to "fire".

Breech Loading: The L-1 is loaded through its breech via a hinged removal system, due to being breech loaded via hinged separator, the L-1 can use any munition with a length less than 500mm. Theoretically it can use munitions up to 950mm in length, but effectiveness and muzzle velocity would be lowered significantly.

Laser Range Finder: By standard the L-1 is equipped with a 2-5x zoom scope with a built in laser range finder to assist in finding and ranging targets for accurate hits at a distance of up to 2km.
