Dernellian Industries P-2 5mm Compact Pistol (P-2CP)

The P-2 is Dernellian Industries design of a compact pistol, utilizing 5x30mm rounds the P-2 has a high muzzle energy for a compact pistol. This allows an acceptable armor penetration for a small round out of a compact. Further given the size of the round it allows for a 10 round magazine by standard in a compact pistol. It's primarily made of polymer reducing it's weight considerably.

Rate of Fire: Theoretically 650 rounds per minute, but the pistol is semi-auto only.

Mass: .4kg unloaded.

Ammunition: 5x30mm, typically solid steel or sometimes tungsten to help increase penetration, hollow point rounds exist, but are only used on a mission by mission basis. Solid lead range munitions exist.

Range: Maximum effective range is 50m, maximum total range is approximately 1.25km.

Muzzle Energy: 490 Joules from a 220mm barrel.

Frame: An almost completely polymer frame design, the P-2 is a very light weapon.

Safeties: The P-2 features three safeties, being a selector, trigger, and magazine safety. Preventing the gun from firing until a magazine is inserted, the selector is moved from safe to fire, and the safety trigger is pressed before the primary trigger. The trigger safety is often removed for military purposes.

Rails: Rails run the length of the bottom of the gun past the trigger guard.

Magazines: The P-2 by standard uses the P-1 10 round box magazines, 20 round box magazines are produced as well as extended 30 and 40 round box magazines.

Recoil System: The P-2 uses a simple direct blowback design.

Barrel: The P-2 has a 90mm barrel, the barrel is threaded allowing the installation of a suppressor, though given the nature of a compact, use of this feature is unlikely.
