Timeline of Ilandia 1600-1715

July 1609: The Vanuan Empire declares war on Merovia. Ilandia prepares to defend their ally.

September 1612: The Vanuan Empire collapses after Merovian-Ilandian forces storm the capital.

13 October 1612: The Vanuans formally surrender, Ilandia annexes some coastal areas.

Around 1622: Ilandian merchants greatly expand the colonies in the west

January 1635: Framtonese merchants try to overrun the king but fail.

1637-1640: The Great Plague rages through Ilandia, killing almost 5 percent of the population.

1639-1642: As king Adalbert II died of the Great Plague his sons each claim the throne, leading to the Second Succession War.

22 May 1642: Prince Frederique wins the war and crowns himself king.

1644-1678: The Southern Empire and Ilandia declare war on each other. Ilandian ships dominate the sea and Penjin is bombed.

1648-1715: Ilandian hegemony at sea takes the economy to new levels of wealth.

1688: The Middle Wars break out. Thetae and allies declare war on Umanag and allies.

11 April 1690: Ilandia joins the Middle Wars as a third side together with Olvana.

1692: Ilandia and Olvana win the Middle Wars, Ilandia annexes large chunks of Thetae and Umanag and completely annex Merovia.

1696: Rumours of an empire in the East spread.

1698: The Ovean Empire is overrun by the Marcean Empire.

1703: As the Marcean Empire rapidly advances through the Middle lands Ilandia allies them.

14 March 1714: The Marcean Empire conquers Asjachabad, an Ilandian ally.

24 June 1714: King Adalbert III tries to sail to Marcea but disappears in a storm. His brothers claim the throne.

30 June 1714: Prince Frederique doesn't recognise his brother Ferdinant as king, the Third Succession War breaks out.

1 January 1715: Frederique invades Ilandia with 56.000 men.

November 1715: After a short but cruel war Frederique crowns himself king of Ilandia and Merovia. The kingdom is ruined.

Late 1715: The Marcean Empire invades the Thetaean League. Ilandia joins the war against Marcea.

The Marcean War has begun.
