Kaya had never felt any happier in her entire life as she remained at Uralim and Isayra’s side. She was called servant or slave but she never felt the apprehension and the oppression that came with the word. She had the back of her neck tattooed at her own insistence, signifying the status of her life. To all the elves that lived in the Holy Xovvan Empire that had come to see Kaya, in their eyes she was the happiest slave there is to be, which is the strangest thing they would ever see in their entire lives. Kaya now spoke Xovvan and Vrakori fluently, along with the other languages that she already knew how to speak. When Uralim and Isayra would go to places, she would beg her masters to take her with them, on some days it would happen, on other days it would not be.

In the days that they do, she would follow her masters and tend to their needs with a smile on their faces and a joy in her voice. She would also tend to their children, happily playing with them, and speaking to them in rhymes to keep them entertained.

When she was approached by another slave, questioning the joy that she wields and the enthusiasm she carries, she would answer with conviction and pride.

“I’ve never felt better anywhere else, it is as if the stars meant for me to be here.”

Overseers would come and question the methods that Uralim and Isayra had done to keep her in such high morale and great obedience despite her disposition, the married couple would only answer with the truth and the story of how Uralim had found Kaya, and her tragic story as well. The Overseers would leave the two confused but convinced though this would only spell danger to Kaya, as such quality and attitude with slaves can fetch a high price, and hungry eyes.
