Intervention in Kukumu

Today, president Allie Filmore, the leader of Kukumu, has been shot in the head by a Vantierian sniper that was working with the government. It would have been very difficult to kill her if she was actually popular and the members of the Kukumuan National Democratic Party were loyal to her. She was hated by many people, from the military elite to the poorest citizens of Kukumu. She tried to remove the current high ranking officers of the military in order to make herself more powerful and influential. Initially, she was successful, but very soon the rest of the army realized what was going on, and organized a resistence movement in order to prevent her from firing, arresting or even killing the high-ranking officers from the military. The resistence was successful, and Allie started loosing a lot of support from her own army. She had to create her own personal army to make sure she would be safe, and used it to seize arms factories from private companies. Hopefully for Kukumu, there was almost no violence, as both sides were preparing for a civil war that, in the end, never happened. Because she was assasinated. Vantier was also interested in Kukumuan national affairs. Kukumu had been a Vantierian puppet for quite a long time. Kukumu paid Vantier a partion of the money it made in exchange for protection. But things changed over time. Kukumu developed quickly. Its economy grew fast, and they were building a huge military. But they still needed Vantier, as most of their economy belonged to private companies from Vantier. What the Kukumuan government tried to do was seize the factories, stores, banks, etc, but failed miserably, and now they were working in the black market. The ridiculous ammount of corruption in Kukumu allowed them to bribe the cops, eventually making more money, as they didn't have to pay taxes anymore. Allie tried to fix this, but she was too incompetent and corrupt too, so now she was trying to create new companies to compete with the Vantierian ones. And Vantier didn't like that, because Vantierian companies used to control the Kukumuan economy entirely, and now they didn't and also because Kukumu wasn't paying the Vantierian government any money. Vantier also wanted to have more power over Kukumu. Both sides made a deal, Vantier would control Kukumu again and the high ranking officers would keep their power and some more. Then, Vantier sent a sniper to shoot Allie in the head, while the officers got rid of Allie's army. After a week, the militia was defeated, and both sides got what they wanted.
