Northarian Political Parties

Parties in the Northarian Senate

Ideology: Marxism-Leninism-Rosa Thälmann Thought

Name: The Northarian United Front

Leader: Rosa Thälmann

Seats: 212

About

The Northarian United Front formed with the merging of the Luxemburgist Social Democratic Union and the Marxist-Leninist Northarian Marxist Workers' Party in the aftermath of the Crocus Revolution. Together, they synthesised a hybrid ideology known as Marxism-Leninism-Luxemburgism. Later, contributions to the Party Doctrine by Chairwoman Rosa Thälmann led to the evolution of the present ideological form. Economically, this ideology holds that ownership of the means of production should be primarily managed by workers' councils, with direction and oversight from the central government. In addition, several large industries and services, for example the public transportation system, the energy grid, public water systems, the national healthcare service, and the postal service, should be managed primarily by the government, with input from unions in that sector. Socially, the Party holds to progressive policies, supporting racial and gender equity, as well as LGBTQ rights and equity. The Party has also taken up the mantle of protecting the growing number of non-Christians, and has taken several steps in creating a more secular and religiously tolerant society. They support greater initiatives to expand healthcare to marginalised communities, and an overall improvement in the quality of care received as well. They are strong supporters of education, and aim to implement Marxist education that would be available to all Northarians, in order to help to secure the revolution by preventing both the return of capitalism to the nation and any potential corruption of the state. They also support greater environmental protections, and seek to require the North Sea Realm to be carbon negative until the entire world has moved on from pollutive fossil fuels, along with widespread pollution elimination measures. They would continue the present immigration policy, which makes it fairly easy and accessible to immigrate to the North Sea Realm. Regarding foreign policy, the Party supports further reconciliation with the Moscow Pact, though the Party does not seek to abolish the ADA. Instead, it holds that the two defence blocs should work together to both dismantle the remnants of imperialism, and to peacefully further socialism throughout the world in order to ultimately establish a Socialist World Republic. Fascism, however, is to be destroyed wherever encountered. Furthermore, they seek to open the Western European Union to include Eastern European countries, and to better balance the union to prevent the project from becoming merely an extension of the North Sea Realm's power over the continent. They also seek to create an international climate and ecosystem protection organisation in the model of the present Arctic Council. They currently do not belong to any coalition, having the outright majority by a great margin.

Ideology: Christian Anarchism
Name: Fish and Loaves

Leader: Party Council

Seats: 61

About

This party was created by the progressive wing of the Christian Democrats that left the party officially after a longstanding divide that stretches back to the 1970’s. FLP is a Christian Anarchist party, believing that no earthly hierarchy is just; however, they are not a theocratic party.. They seek the ultimate abolition of the State as an institution, and provision for everyone. They believe that anything that does not harm another person should be legal. Many people flocked to FLP following the controversial abolition of the national religion of the North Sea Realm, Reformed Orthodox Christianity. The party justifies their stance by stating that although they oppose authority, the majority of the nation does ultimately follow Reformed Orthodoxy, and thus a national religion "not to the exclusion of others" affirms the nation's dedication to the Divine. They lead the Opposition coalition in the Senate.

Ideology: Regional Interest, Anarcho-Syndicalism

Name: The Anarcho-Syndicalist Party

Leader: Dennis Paysan

Seats: 1

About

This party officially represents the interests of the Anarcho-Syndicalist Commune, a small federacy located in southwestern Britain. The party wants to implement Anarcho-Syndicalism in the North Sea Realm. In addition, they want to abolish the monarchy and replace the Presidency with a weekly selected executive officer, but all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special bi-weekly meeting by a simple majority in the case of purely internal affairs, and a two-thirds majority in the case of purely external affairs. It rejects the monarchy despite it being elective, calling the coronation a "farcical aquatic ceremony." They vote alongside the Opposition, though do not consider themselves as members of it.

Ideology: Pirate Politics

Leader: Patrick Donnelly

Seats: 18

About

The Pirate Party supports civil rights, direct democracy (including e-democracy) or alternatively participation in government, reform of copyright and patent law, free sharing of knowledge (open content), information privacy, transparency, freedom of information, free speech, anti-corruption and net neutrality. The party has suffered in recent elections due to both the United Front and Fish and Loaves pulling from their voters, as both parties have opted to integrate traditional Pirate positions into their own doctrines. They belong to the Opposition.

Ideology: Pragmatism

Name: The Alliance for the 21st Century

Leader: Alexandra Vesuvia

Seats: 7

About

This is a party that supports increased government funding for space exploration and scientific advancement. In terms of governing, A21 believes in a pragmatic and non-ideological approach to issues. They have suffered in recent elections due to many citizens seeing an absolute priority of furthering technological progress as unneeded due to the North Sea Realm's already extremely high technological level, which is still increasing even under other governing coalitions. They belong to the Opposition.

Banned Parties

Ideology: Far Right

Name: Traditional Way Union

Leader: Peter Washington

Seats: 0

About

The Traditional Way Union was a big tent party that the right wing of the North Sea Federation coalesced into following the Crocus Revolution. Founded originally on opposing socialism and supportg a return to capitalism, the party was fully taken over by the fascist wing over the course of the 2021 Primaries and strengthened ties with the terrorist organisation Imperial Front. It was banned immediately upon the court's findings and ruling by the Senate, led by the recently-formed United Front, on the basis of promoting fascist ideology and racial supremacy, as well as ideals of genocide against the Unionnaire and immigrant populations.
