A Trip to Laver Island Our government today met officials in Vulkanerborg
Officials from St Scarlett today travelled to our good friends and neighbours in Laver Island to celebrate our Kryssinian union in the Arctic Ocean and to meet with Laver Island's newest government. Among those attending events on the island were Grand Matriarch, Her Most Feminine Kari Erland and President Astrid Haugen as well as delegates from the ministries of foreign and domestic affairs lead by Lady Charlotte Monty and Mia Lindseth respectively, and importantly the Skarlagen Minister for Health, Isabelle O'Kennedy. The dignitaries also brought along family members, Miles and Lyra Haugen could be seen as well as Mari Erland, sister of the Matriarch who seems to have struck up quite the friendship with King Vincent of Laver Island. The party arrived in Vulkanerborg around 9am this morning and were given a brief tour in their cars, visiting major landmarks before being transported to Vulkanerborg castle. This thousand year old marvel of architecture, the only castle in the country, was originally built to house the monarchs after the unifcation of the nation. The current design, built after the napoleonic wars was inspired by classical European design and has served as the headquarters of the military since the viking age. Being invited here as a foreign dignitary is quite the honour as the building is the centre-piece of Laverian politics and houses many of the nation's most important documents and artefacts. Once inside the castle a meeting was held, lasting just a couple of hours the parties from both nations discusses current affairs affecting our countries, such as the COVID-19 epidemic, the Laver-Scarlett Treaty and the climate crisis. This meeting was then followed by a brief press conference from the Ministry of State inside the castle where many questions were answered such as how the two countries plan to tackle the virus together, what relationships would be forged with mainland Scandinavia. After the press conference the delegates were free to do as they pleased, setting out to explore the city and its wonders. Mari Erland and King Vincent were seen heading off together, nobody is sure where they were going though there were reports of them strolling in the local parks. We were able to quickly meet with President Haugen and Lady Erland who said they were "ecstatic to be meeting with the newest members of our cloest ally's government". Astrid also told the Daily Fox that she "hopes that together our two nations can set a standard for green-politics in Northern Europe". The day was completed with a state dinner in the castle's royal quarters. We were not allowed access to the dinner but it should be noted that his royal highness was seen entering the castle, arm in arm with Miss Mari, With the events of the day complete the dignitaries settled in to sleep, ready to head home again tomorrow with smiles on their faces after another successful meeting between two closely tied nations.
could there be a blossoming romance here? Maybe we shall soon see.
