The History of Adylicatpeel EMPIRE

Some of you are wondering what Adylicatpeel EMPIRE (AE) is. AE was the predecessor state to the United Free Nations (UFN). In short, AE was the cause of all of the drama between Westunia and Adylica and the ensuing years of turmoil between Adylica and his perceived enemies.

Anyways, without further ado, here is KOTG's take on the history of AE.

Chapter I: Founding

On approximately February 15th, 2018, Adylica founded AE under the account Adylican mcfreedom. However, Adylica became more active on the Adylica account and gave all powers to Adylica to act as the founder. This is notable since Adylica essentially had two founder accounts at his disposal, leading to other events.

His two friends, Cat topia and Klingonpeel, were prominent members as well. The three nations are how Adylicatpeel EMPIRE got its name. It's a combination of all of their names. Several others joined, many of whom joined and influenced Lardyland and the UFN. (Snyderstate, Westunia, Gemenon, Raynosordia, Monstrosities, etc.)

These IRL friends attended the same high school, and the region had an average of ~20 members.

Chapter II: The First Election and Pranks

Klingonpeel decided to have some fun and created Idiotic idiots, a fake nation that casually insulted some AE members but mostly himself. A few days later, Westunia did something similar with Micheal jacksons armpit. I bring this up here because it is mildly important later on.

The first Presidential (Delegate) Election began. Snyderstate, Cat topia, and Westunia ran. There was a general and then a final election. Westunia lost the general and so had to drop out. In the final election, it was a tie. Adylica broke the tie by voting for Cat Topia, who became the President. Westunia and Cat Topia said this was unfair because Adylica had already voted for Cat Topia under the McFreedom account. Adylica claimed that there was an agreement that he would be the tiebreaker if there were ties.

Later investigation revealed the existence of a private Discord server only available to the top few region members and was not open to the vast majority of the region. It is supposedly on this server where the tiebreaker agreement was made. No evidence has corroborated the agreement's existence, but it is still unknown if it occurred.

Chapter III: Foreign Interference and Rising Resentment

Adylica began to expand AE's influence through various means. First, he tried raiding. AE launched two raids, the first on the region H Y D R A, which failed. Then, he got help and advice from the International League of Nations. The ILN sent Isis qetesh to help with raiding. With Isis's help, AE launched a raid on Warzone Australia with the additional support of an ally region, which is unknown. However, Isis warned that the ally might betray AE and take the region for themselves. Adylica must have either not seen or ignored this warning because nothing happened. The partner later did do this, and the raid attempt was foiled.

It is worth noting that some nations, most notably Westunia, began questioning many of the rules listed in the regional constitution. Other questionable things happened around this time as well. Westunia was scolded and even threatened with the banhammer for his joke puppet (Michael Jacksons Armpit). Westunia questioned why this was being brought up months after it occurred and why Klingonpeel, who had done the same thing, received no such treatment. Additionally, on at least two separate occasions, Westunia was banned from then allowed back in AE after protesting certain items such as the constitution. This, along with a long series of other minor incidents, led Westunia to believe that Adylica was a poor leader who couldn't tolerate any form of criticism. This became most evident when Adylica massively suppressed the RMB, targeting all complaints against him.

Finally, Westunia noted how all officer positions within the region were not granted on merit but on loyalty to Adylica personally. The primary example is Refuge11, who was entirely inactive from NS after first joining the region but still received several jobs despite doing nothing with them.

Chapter IV: The Second Election Part I

After a while, Cat Topia's term as President was coming to a close. There was an election for the next President. Early on, Adylica gave support for Snyderstate. (This was likely because of Cat Topia's earlier disagreement with him over the first election.) Like in the first election, the same three candidates ran. (Snyderstate, Westunia, and Cat topia) Cat Topia ran for re-election since Presidents could serve a maximum of two terms in office. Westunia dropped out before the poll went up, though, stating on the RMB that he believed that because Adylica supported Snyderstate, Snyderstate would win no matter what happened. He also stated that Adylica retained all power anyways, so the position of President was pointless. This became a point of debate throughout the region's history. The poll went live at this time.

Chapter V: The Matwood Incident

(Side Note: At an unknown date around here, a nation named GANDALFICUS attempted to impersonate a friend of many AE members, Skylar. The ruse was found out, and the nation never joined.)

During the election, two infamous nations joined AE around the same time. First was Potato landiopolis, who claimed to be Marshall, someone some people knew. (As a reminder, the entire region consisted of friends who all attended the same school.) At the same time, Matwood joined. Matwood claimed to be Westunia's IRL friend in their art class. Matwood was given a minor office, and both nations voted for Cat Topia on the poll.

Afterwards, Adylica discovered that PL was a fake. He did this accidentally by conversing with the IRL Marshall, who hadn't joined NationStates yet. But, because both PL and Matwood joined AE around the same time, both were assumed to be fake. Westunia was charged with the creation of both accounts. A huge argument ensued, during which Westunia demanded to know what evidence Adylica had against him. After much prodding, Adylica revealed that the only evidence linking Westunia to either nation was that Westunia was better friends with Marshall than anyone else, while Matwood had claimed to be friends with Westunia, who was the only person in the region that knew them.

After this was said, nearly all other nations agreed that this was insufficient evidence to charge Westunia, as there was no hard evidence to prove Westunia was behind the accounts. (Side note: I speculate that the creator of the two fake accounts, GANDALFICUS and PL, was either Cat Topia or Gemenon. Cat Topia later pulled a prank on Adylica where he 'hacked' into his account and changed their settings around, demonstrating his ability to do this, plus they benefitted as the person being voted for by the accounts. Gemenon later used multiple WA puppets for a raid, demonstrating this ability. (See my UFN history for more).)

During this time, it was discovered/confirmed that Matwood was real. Matwood quit NS shortly afterward, rejecting an apology Adylica had sent her.

Westunia was very angry about how Adylica immediately blamed him for what happened. He believed that Adylica was trying to get two birds with one stone. As he put his thoughts in a now-erased RMB post: "I guarantee this whole thing is just him thinking Why not resolve the situation while getting rid of my biggest critic" -Westunia

Chapter VI: The Second Election Part II

Meanwhile, the election between Cat Topia and Snyderstate was neck-and-neck. In the end, Isis Qetesh delivered the final and decisive vote, electing Cat Topia to a second term in office. This caused a bit of an outrage. Some, such as Snyderstate and Lagrendia, viewed Cat Topia as an ineffective leader who let Adylica do everything when he wasn't supposed to. Westunia believed that Cat Topia was limited in his actions because of how Adylica set up the constitution. The problem lay more with the Constitution and Adylica in general.

Worth pointing out here is Snyderstate. Before his defeat, he had previously been one of the top political figures and was very much on Adylica's side. After his loss, to paraphrase what he said later on, he realized how unfair it was once he wasn't benefitting from the system. In short, he realized that Westunia was right and became Adylica's second-biggest critic.

Shortly after the poll ended, Westunia, along with two anonymous nations (These were Matwood and Faendu, by the way. Matwood helped Westunia off-site, and Faendu was an AE member of little importance.) created "The Long Post," which was a list of several complaints and grievances against Adylica and a few against Snyderstate regarding his actions before turning against Adylica.

After creating The Long Post, Westunia left AE.

Chapter VII: Inactivity

Westunia took an extended break from NationStates. After he left, AE entered a wave of inactivity, during which only one major event occurred. The AE government decided to eject all inactive nations. These nations included Monstrosities, Raynosordia, Refuge11, and others. Roughly a third of major nations were ejected. Other than that, very little happened besides updating the rules.

Chapter VIII: The "Revolt"

The inactivity wave ended suddenly when all the inactive nations returned to AE and began a "revolt." From what I can accurately gather, they mainly just demanded that Adylica resign his power as founder and did little besides post on the RMB. At this point, the nation Hessonite joined the region as an ambassador from Lardyland. Carstantinopipal of the UEC also stumbled upon the scene but did nothing important besides spectate the chaos and poke fun at Adylica. Hessonite was sympathetic to the revolt and went to Lardyland to inform them of current events. The "revolt" died down independently after a couple of hours.

After this, Adylica was distraught. He left NS for a while and gave temporary control to Cat Topia. Adylica also shut down all of the embassies and wiped the WFE. He eventually returned and resumed governance, although he let Cat Topia do more actions. Westunia emerged from their break to ask if he could join the region since it looked like Adylica would be less involved, and he wanted the region to continue in this direction. This request was refused.

Chapter IX: The Embassy War

This time is known as the Embassy War, when Adylica was at odds with Westunia while the latter was in Lardyland. To summarize, Westunia claimed he overheard Adylica IRL saying he had a plot to coup Lardyland by slowly gaining power and eventually overthrowing the permanent Delegate, Pinochet executionists. (It is worth noting that Pinochet claimed to have seen evidence of this coup, but said evidence is on a now-deleted RMB, so it's lost to time.) Adylica ran for the position of Vice-Delegate of Lardyland, and Westunia telegrammed a few members of Lardyland to warn them. After Pinochet announced that Adylica was barred from running, the War began. In truth, this entire event lasts from now to the Lily War, a LONG time after AE fell. All that matters for AE's history is that it began here. (See my UFN and Lardyland histories for more)

This is less of a singular, defined point in a timeline sense and more of a long period that began here.

Chapter X: Reconstruction

This is a short time when Cat Topia rebuilt the WFE and restored the embassies. Due to the vague timeline of these events, it's possible that reconstruction only lasted a couple of days.

Chapter XI: Collapse

Adylica decided to end the region and did the standard region-ending actions. He wiped the WFE, banjected everyone, set a password, shut down the embassies, and left.

The collapse occurred around April 25th, 2018, ending AE's roughly two-and-a-half-month existence.
