Terrorist Organisations in Arkmunster

Arkmunster has been and remains an ideologically torn area, with a longstanding history of violence to get one's way. Terrorist actions have been on the rise since Manschel's death and both arms, funds, and recruits flow into their hands as the people turn to more radical options. Originally driven by two factions - the Revolutionary Front and the Royal Society - the organisations have doubled.

Symbol of the Royal Society, simplified combination of the Burgundy Shield and Purple Eagle, two famous royal symbols.

Leader (de jure); Queen Elizabeth of House Aified

Leader (de facto): Hudson West
Approximate Membership: 300-500 active members, 2500~ sympathisers

The Royal Society was created during the war as a stay behind organisation incase the royal government was defeated. In it's time, the Roal Society has proven a mostly elusive organisation, only making statements when it wishes (Tory Murders and Royal Day being the most famous). The leader, Mr. West, is assumed to be a pseudonym and is known for being particularly ruthless in his executions. Torture and bombings tend to be the Royal Society's stock and trade, although they have made multiple attempts on leader's lives aver the years. The end goal of the Royal Society is unclear as it seems they've long stopped working towards a goal and many responsible for chasing down these terrorists believe that they've long been separated from an ideological reason, they simply exist to cause violence.

While the Revolutionary Security Administration had attempted to squash them, the ensuing chaos of Manschel's passing and the flight of the RSA meant that the society has stayed unidentified as political chaos continues to consume the nation. The Queen has proven a source of frustration for the Society (at least when they remained committed to the return of the monarchy), preferring the life of a political survivor and socialite over attempts to return to the throne.

The gun was originally the symbol of the RSA, the addition of the blue and red is a simplified cockade showing party allegiance (in this case, to Manchel's party). Specifically designed for quickly scratching on equipment for terrorist attacks.

Leader: Michael James

Approximate Membership: 1000-2000 active members, 10000 sympathisers
Regions under Revolutionary Front Control: Drayton Farms, Hampton, Bisra District

The Revolutionary Front originated from the Revolutionary Security Administration, one driven out of their lofty posts in the Trade Council and into the wilderness. Adapting to the world anew, the RSA became the RF as they lost any hope of relatively peacefully controlling the country. Losing several high profile leaders in the early days to militias and the TUC, the most senior survivor James brought together the group and made it anew. Focusing on training, insurrection, and public good will, the Revolutionary Front builds itself as the continuation of Manschel's regime, the last time there was political stability in the country. It swelled in strength during the bread riots as militancy against the government was at it's highest, but began to decline as the provisional government took control. With the chaos from the Second March on Ravenhaf, however, they've begun to gather strength again.

The active wing of the Revolutionary Front occupies itself as part clandestine operative and part sower of discord. To the people it protects, it's a rogue but ultimately humanistic vigilante, striking down their enemies. To the ones it does not, it's a murderous fiend that exists only to devastate communities. Relying little on actual terror actions, it instead focuses more on high profile murders and activities off the book entirely. As it builds itself support again, it may grow from being a simple terrorist force into a full out contender to rule Arkmunster.

The regions under control of the Front are a complicated issue. While officially unaffiliated with the Front, the two are one and the same and serve as the undisputed rulers of their regions, displacing local militias and thoroughly controlling the political sphere of them. Drayton Farms was the first region under control by the Front, largely believed to be a front under direct control by the Revolutionary Security Administration. When pushed out of the government, it became the home base for the Front and serves as a complicated situation for the government - despite relatively open knowledge of the affiliation, there are no actual connections nor has any rule been directly broken.

The small town of Hampton, home to five hundred people, was originally under direct control of the militia. In the chaos of the Theatre Attacks, the militia fought with the neighbouring community of Miliá and resulted in the Hampton militia taking heavy casualties. The Front swooped in to disperse both militias and with this good will, took over policing of the town and then took political control in the first election. Finally, the Bisra District of Middlemoor had long been a fervent supporter of Manschel and was driven further into support for Manschel in the bread riots, and the Front floated some representatives for possible local election. The Front candidates won handily, with the representatives working with the Front for goods and social improvement in the region for the largely immigrant based community. It serves as a prime recruiting pool for the organisation and a hold in Middlemoor.

Leader: Pastor Billy 'Prester John' Osteen
Approximate Membership: Unknown, expected to be less then 100.

Once, the Protestant Church was the most powerful force in Auchendale. Given by divine right to guide the Monarchy and support the ruling government across the nation, the Church was almost synonymous with the government and one could sometimes be better off bribing a pastor over an official. Times change, however, and whereas the Catholic Church proved more flexible with the times (breaking with the Pope over labour unions and women rights), the Protestant Church dug its heels in the sand. Weakened by Constitutionalism, sidelined by King David, and flat out ignored by King-General Claude, the Church's influence over the nation went into stark decline. Giving rise to new religious movements (or rebirths of some such as Lutheranism), the Church's hold over the populace collapsed. Dropping from about 70% of the population adhering to it, it declined to 50% and then 30% until the Church went through a schism. With most of the Church parting ways to adapt to the new social revolution, the few 'Pure Protestants' stood on street corners and shouted their lungs out to a populace that long gave up on their ideas.

The Church had several novel ways to try and rekindle interest - everything from appealing to the Royal Society (they declined), writing a series of books on the status of God and the Revolution (namely that God didn't much like it), and youth efforts that more went mocked then followed. The last great Pastor, Billy Osteen with a congregation of about two thousand, declared that unless something was done, the nation of Auchendale (he refused to acknowledge the Civil War happened) was doomed. Calling for a Crusade on Socialism, him and a few diehard followers went into the wilderness and engaged in minor nuisance attacks, afraid of being wiped out before then began. The chaos of the first democratic government, however, left them emboldened. With a vision from Osteen of the few faithful in a land of heathens, several members of the PPP took arms and began to terrorise local small towns, using suicide bombs and children to attack the nation. Instantly drawing condemnation from most of Christianity for their feudalistic motives and violent ways, they persisted regardless. Perhaps a sideshow to the current chaos, their attacks on farming communities have caused food shortages region wide and given them influence far above their minor membership count would otherwise acknowledge.
