By-Laws

All peace loving nations are welcome in United Nations.

Regional Message Board (RMB) Policy

IRL the United Nations was founded to end world war. RMB posts are required to use diplomatic language. Flaming, trolling, constant use of swear words, declaring war or role playing war on the RMB is cause for ejection from the region. Posts on civil war are allowed as long as other nations do not send troops. Sending troops into another nation's territory or blockading its ports is considered to be war. Perpetrators will be ejected.

Nations may use the RMB to announce developments in their country. You can respond to posts or ignore them and simply post what's happening in your nation. If you want to interact with other residents read their factbooks and dispatches (accessible through their homepages) so that your comments on their actions are informed.

The Culture of a NationState

Culture in each nationstate is determined by the player. Cultural development may be based on real life, fantasy, or a mixture of both.

The information in a nationstate's factbook does not have to strictly adhere to the game statistics and population figures. For example, the game says Blab has almost 34 billion people - nearly seven times the entire population of Earth. For RP purposes, Blab is considered to have 34 million people. Populations should not be measured in billions unless land claims can sustain a billion people, like Canada or China. Not every nation is an economic or technological powerhouse.

Nations resident in the region for more than 70 days may

1. Send a link and/or the words of their national anthem to Juskalherria for inclusion in the Anthems Dispatch.

2. Request a space on the Linkregional map.

Role Play (RP)

Some nations enjoy RP. If this is your interest, NationStates has a guide for RP here.

In this region, all international roleplay must be consensual. As a writer, you have control only over the fate of your characters. That is, if you fire a missile at someone else, it is up to them to write if it hits or misses. This is called open-ended roleplay. If someone does not want to RP an invasion or war with you, you may not force it on them. Trying to force your will upon someone is what creates hard feelings. RP is working collaboratively with others to interact and share a story together.

Imagination and a good story are appreciated. However, a certain degree of realism is expected, in that, if you are a new, small nation, it is unrealistic to say that you have a major space program or large quantities of advanced weaponry systems. Powergaming or godmoding is not allowed. The World Census Reports are an indication of how your nation compares to other nations in the region. You control your rankings by the decisions you make on the issues. If you want advice on issues, you can find it here.
