The Sands Casino Annual Report - 2017 / 2018

Introduction

The Sands ran 14 casino games in quarter two 2018, making a total of 58 for the year to date. An anniversary edition Slots game was added this quarter, along with the usual weekly games. Earlier in the year, additional games were organised for the World Fair and New Year. Games lasted six days, running from Thursday to Wednesday. Games had a standard stake size of ten chips, and paid out appropriately to game winners.

Footfall

Over the year, footfall averaged 72.6 players per game, or 78.6 if the additional games are excluded. In Q2 2018, footfall averaged 95 players per game. However, footfall in June was down, averaging only 67 players per game.

Over the year, 1,240 unique nations took part in our games, making a total of 4,211 transactions (average of 3.4 transactions per nation).

We continue to have a strong core of loyal customers. About 25% of transactions (1093) were carried out by our 44 most loyal customers, averaging 24.8 transactions each. About 50% of transactions (2064) were carried out by our 147 most loyal customers, averaging 14 transactions each.

Our most popular games are Slots, with an average 97.5 customers per game, Higher or Lower with 80.3, and Baccarat with 78.

Accounts

Annual turnover was 42,110 chips. Of these stakes, we retained 26,780, and paid out 22,442 in prizes. This gave us a profit of 4,338 chips, or 10.3% of turnover.

Slots (our most popular game) was our best earner, bringing in 1,880 chips over the year. Roulette earned 1,350, and Pai Gow 1,200. Hold'em has cost us 550, Higher or Lower 427, and our Rudolph Racer game, 265. Our biggest net payout in a single game was 1,890 for Higher or Lower.
