United Socialist Republic Flag Etiquette

Display

Flag can be flown at all hours but must be illuminated during the evening

The flag is not to be drawn or marked on in any way

The flag is not to be worn as clothing, not to be displayed at items meant to be thrown away or eaten off of.

All regional flags must be flown lower

Soiled or damaged flags are to be properly disposed of with respect

The flag must never touch the ground or flow low enough for it to become dirty or damaged

When flown with flags of the individual  provinces, it is to be flown in the center

When flown with flags of other nations, it is to be flown from the left of the observer

The flag is never to be flown in a way that it is obscured (flown by trees, power lines, telephone poles, etc)

During Memorial day or after the passing of a premier or other high ranking government official or after a national tragedy, the flag is to be flown at "half staff". That is halfway between the top of the pole and the base.

If placed on a podium for a speaker by itself, it is to be placed on the right. If with the flag of an individual province or other nation then the left.

If the flag is being used in a parade or simuliar public event then it is to be flown center high enough for all to see (at least two feet above the head of the bearer).

If it is being hung vertically, it is to always be flown with the Eagle Crest at the top. Never at the bottom.

Under no circumstances is the Eagle Crest to be obscured.

The flag is never to be flown upside down except as a distress signal.

If the flag is being raised with the flags of the individual provinces, it is to be raised first.

If the flag is being raised with the flag of a visiting nation it is to be raised last

The flag isn't to be handled or touched without gloves out of respect and reverence.

During the national anthem, members of any branch of the armed forces, police, or fire department are required to salute the flag. Citizens may place their right hands over their hearts.

Flag disposal

If the flag is tattered, faded or in any state of wear then it is to be burned.

Two individuals are to handle the flag while at least two stand in salute.

The flag is to be folded in half and then into quarters (carefully and neatly) before being placed into the flames.

The flame is to be big enough to engulf the flag and thoroughly dispose of it.

The ashes are to be placed into a vessel and buried.

If the flag is place across a coffin then it is to be placed with the fly at the "head" and the fly towards the bottom.

Folding

Two individuals are to hold the flag long ways with one man at the hoist and the other at the fly. The hoist is to be folded towards the fly. The top right corner to be folded towards the right as is the top left to form a triangle. The left side is then to be folded to the right to form a smaller triangle.
