The Executive Council of the Nordic Union

The Executive Council of the Nordic Union is the main executive branch of the political system of the Nordic Union. The Executive Council is elected by the First Chamber of the Parliament of the Nordic Union. This election needs the approval of the Second Chamber of the Parliament of the Nordic Union.
The Executive Council acts under parliamentary oversight and serves at the discretion of the Parliament, it may at any moment be removed by a constructive vote of no confidence.
The Executive Council consists of 16 Councillors, who each head a Ministry. Each Constituent Country is entitled to two Councillors.
The Executive Council elects a Speaker from among its members, who serves as the de facto Head of Government of the Nordic Union.

After the last General Election, a coalition government was formed by Arbeišarflokkin, Flokkin fyri Sosialistiskt Fólkaręši,
Vinstragrųna Kostin and Kvinnurųrslu.
