History of Severolslavia

After Bulgaria was freed in 1878, things proceeded as usual until the Balkan Wars. In the 2nd Balkan War, Bulgaria came out as the victor, seizing North Macedonia and all of Dobruja. As world war one started, Bulgaria joined the central powers In September 1914, and Serbia was easily crushed by Summer 1915. After Greece joined the war in the Autumn of that year, the Bulgarians sent their forces into Macedonia and their fleet into the Aegean islands. Greece signed a peace treaty with the Bulgarians and the Ottomans in June 1917, which gave Macedonia to the Bulgarians, and the Aegean islands and Crete to the Ottomans. After this, Bulgaria sent their navy and troops to Southern Italy, and a successful capture of some of the Sicilian coast was made by the end of the war, which happened in December 1918 with a central power victory. The final treaty partitioned Italian Libya between the Ottomans and the Bulgarians. In 1922, the Ottoman Empire crumbled and Turkey was founded. Greece took this opportunity to try to retake the Aegean Islands and Crete, and Bulgaria entered the war on their own side. In May 1923, the Treaty of Istanbul was signed between Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey which gave Bulgaria Thrace, and Greece Crete and the Aegean Islands. In 1926 however, Turkey swiftly retook the Aegean Islands from Grece but were unable to take Crete.
