Madovian Songs
This is a collection of (mostly) political and other types of Madovian songs.Former National Anthem: "Freedom, Unity, Prosperity"
Today is the day
Where freedom and prosperity
Come together!
United we stand!
From Zata to Bhako,
Along the Catteh,
Over the beautiful
Land of Madovia,
This is glory!
Long live the beautiful
Land of Madovia!
Long live the everlasting
Freedom and prosperity!
Arise! Arise! Arise!
Today is the day
Where freedom and prosperity
Come together!
United we stand!
We don't want oppression,
We want freedom.
We don't want hate,
We want unity.
We don't want unhappiness,
We want prosperity!
Madovian, be proud.
Be proud of you!
Be proud of our values!
Madovian, be a free man!
Arise! Arise! Arise!
Today is the day
Where freedom and prosperity
Come together!
United we stand!
Arise! Arise! Arise!
Today is the day
Where freedom and prosperity
Come together!
United we stand!
Proposal for National Anthem: "Madovia, you holy country"
Suddenly the horizon was dark,
I remember it to be bright like an angel,
But now there is nothing but darkness.
I remember the bright past,
I remember the laughter of the people,
I remember them to be happy despite all problems,
But now, they are unhappy while being wealthy.
The heart of the people
Needs freedom and liberty,
The heart of the people
Calls for self-determination.
They would never accept oppression,
So give the people what they must have!
One morning I awakened,
Once I heard loud laughter
And now I hear quite laughter,
The people forgot to laugh with their heart.
The feeling of constant limitation,
The feeling of being not free,
It crushes the spirit of the people,
So let’s refresh the spirit!
If I die as a partisan,
If I die as a free man,
Then I did what the people wanted,
Then I tried my best.
I remember times when the people loved to live,
But now it’s over,
No more liberty, it’s no more,
So should we give up?
The people have to realize their duty,
The duty to fight for their freedom,
If necessary with their physical might,
Always alongside the spirit of freedom!
My death shall not be without meaning,
So if I die as a partisan,
Bury me in the mountain of Darassen,
Bury me where I can be free.
But I will never cease to exist
Without restoring the brightness in the people’s hearts,
Without overwhelming the darkness,
Without making the world a better place – a free place.
They only care for themselves,
If you don’t have something to eat,
They will just suggest you to eat cake.
They don’t know how the people feel,
This filthy, monied elite
Only knows how it feels to be wealthy,
They never experienced true work!
They oppress the workers,
They oppress the people,
They oppress the individual,
They oppress humanity!
Merner and his ilk,
Yes, they are the ones to blame,
They kill the Madovian spirit,
They sully Madovia!
So march on, Madovian,
Fight for you fatherland,
Fight for your liberty
And crush this elite with your bare hands!
Because only you, Madovian,
Only you can free yourself,
Nobody but except the individual can achieve this,
It can only be the work of the people themselves!
Alone we stand in this murky and turbid world
Arise, Madovian, at this morn’s light
And stand up,
All we need to do is to cleanse the country.
Aaah, the elite dancing blindly in the stupor of this world,
Thinking nothing of this land and its fate,
In this nightmare, a political charade,
They only show their arrogance and ignorance.
So, Madovian, what are you waiting for?
We have no time left,
This filthy elite will soon destroy our heritage and our values,
It’s only a matter of time
Until Madovia ceases to exist.
So, Madovian, is that what you want?
Ignoring what the elite is doing to our country?
What the elite is doing to you?
Ignoring that they are trying to take your individuality away from you?!
MADOVIAN, fight,
Fight like never before
And if you die as a partisan,
You can be assured the generations after us will give you a golden grave high up in the mountains!
The Song of the United Front was written by famous Madovian composer Henrich Kajuf (*1877-†1972) in the year 1914 when the Second Bigtopian-Madovian War (1914-1918) broke out. It was meant as a propaganda song to recruit enough people for the army and to keep the morale of the civilian population high. When Kajuf published the song, it quickly became a very popular song among the Madovian people. Today, it's considered as some kind of a folk song in Madovia and is still very popular.
However, some criticize that the song was too radical and therefore shouldn't be played outside of the army.
