The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 5.23 billion Oceaniesians are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The enormous, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Environment, and Healthcare. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of City of Founding Fathers. The average income tax rate is 78.9%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The all-consuming Oceaniesian economy, worth 461 trillion Honors a year, is highly specialized and mostly made up of the Trout Farming industry, with major contributions from Information Technology.
