The United Socialist States of Clerical Korea is a huge, safe nation, renowned for its compulsory military service, devotion to social welfare, and stringent health and safety legislation. The compassionate, cynical, devout population of 296 million Koreans are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The enormous, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Welfare, Law & Order, and Defense. The average income tax rate is 68.3%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but underdeveloped Korean economy, worth 10.1 trillion Acadiums a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is fairly diversified, is led by the Beef-Based Agriculture industry, with major contributions from Basket Weaving, Cheese Exports, and Arms Manufacturing. Average income is 34,206 Acadiums, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

All writing must pass a censorship board before being allowed on the shelves, citizens often ask "what has information technology ever done for us?", creating cardboard imitations of missiles is a new top-secret military project, and newlywed misogynists complain about their wives keeping their maiden names. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Clerical Korea's national animal is the Eagle, which is also the nation's favorite main course.

Clerical Korea is ranked 214,640th in the world and 182nd in The Invaders for Rudest Citizens, with 20.72 Insults Per Minute.
